Man I had a history class like that, that required for me to graduate. The teacher was from Brazil I think and I could not understand her. Is there anyway you can get help from others in the class?

You should explain to the teacher about the language barrier too. Some times they can understand that as a problem especially if they are nice enough. >> Only 7 people in the class... yesh.
