Sorry the answer is late. I've been busy helping my grandparents^-^

I'm doing good as well. Working on some real life and Tris stuff right now. >w<

No worries, real life should always come first. :3 Especially when either the elderly or younglings are involved. ;)

SolaceXxX 01-14-2013 02:13 AM

@Arikana: That's cool.

Yes, especially since my grandpa has Alzheimer's :(

Arikana 01-14-2013 02:49 AM

I know how you feel. My paternal grandmother has Alzheimer's as well. :3

SolaceXxX 01-14-2013 02:22 PM

Well, on top of that my grandpa on my mom's side doesn't remember us either, but I think that's a combination of Dementia and old age. He's in his 90s.

Arikana 01-14-2013 02:50 PM

Yeah, I know the feeling. Alzheimer's can get quite bad. I've seen firsthand what it has done to my grandmother and wish it upon no one. Not even being able to eat is quite bad. :|

SolaceXxX 01-14-2013 05:09 PM

So far he can still eat, but his temper is horrible when he gets angry. The simplest things get him upset and my family and I are scared that one day he'll get so upset that he will hurt my grandmother.

Arikana 01-14-2013 05:12 PM

Perhaps you and your family should work on moving him into geriatric care facility? It would probably be best to have him in a place where there will be people to look after him twenty-four seven.

SolaceXxX 01-14-2013 05:33 PM

Yeah, he was in one after he got surgery. After his recovery time was up they didn't want to let him out and they contacted my aunt about things instead of my grandma because the care givers thought that she should be in the home too. We don't trust them anymore, so we won't put him back in there unless we absolutely have to.

Arikana 01-14-2013 05:44 PM

Well, it would probably help him if your grandmother was in the geriatric home as well. But if he can and will still eat, then the need is not as great for him to be in one just yet. It's best for my grandmother to be in one as she needs IVs to stay alive and neither my family or relatives have the large amounts time necessary to care for her. I can't wait till late April/early May when I get to fly to Hong Kong so that I may visit her. >w< I worry for her life and hope she won't pass away anytime soon.

SolaceXxX 01-14-2013 09:53 PM

That's what worries me about my grandparents is them dying out of the blue. But for now we just keep visiting and taking care of them while we have the chances to.
