Good luck, I looked at my mother and said no... her guest list which was just family and close friends of the family was 150 people, and that didn't even include Alpha's family or our close friends. I limited the venue to 35 people, and cut off any one that i hadn't seen in at least 5 years.... that cut her list down to less than 10 people.

I hope your engagement party goes really well, Mizzy! Just a tip, if in planning everything it gets overwhelming, just focus on the things that matter most to you and make sure at least those things are perfect! That way if something less important goes wrong it doesn't seem like a very big deal.

There's nothing wrong with having a lot of people if your venue can hold it! It's really nice to have all those people who care about you, and the compliments don't hurt either. ;) You're going to be a princess!

Mizzy, I'm currently being very scared of the fact that your avi contest has no theme.

.... Ummm at least 6 months down the line.. if not longer since it is a large wedding. A Friday or Weekend would be your best bet to make it easier for your guests to get to it since they are out of state. May 24th - August is the busy season for weddings, as is any date right near any major holidays. So grab a calendar go 6 months out and then just start marking up possible dates.

I had a hard time with colors too. It's rough to figure out colors that you like, go together, are easy to get the same shade of, and match with flowers! The time of year you get married can also have a pretty big impact on wedding colors. Eventually I decided it was something I just didn't care as much about, and it was a ton easier.
