I are ready :D

You know, I could argue for multiple answers on this one....

Gallagher 10-26-2013 01:03 AM

Everyone wins a prize, right or wrong, so consider your strategy — get them right, or make them hilarious!?

Zenella 10-26-2013 04:33 AM

My guesses might be hilarious by accident... I'm bad at riddles D:

Cazzidy 10-26-2013 02:02 PM

Ok I tried guessing... hahaha! :D

by the way, how do we know if we got rewarded or something?

Ultima 10-26-2013 03:16 PM

Yeah, you don't really get a notification or anything. I just checked my inventory and there's an event item in there I didn't buy. So that's how I know what I got from the last riddle =P

Shadami 10-26-2013 03:23 PM

I got the first one right. And i think i have the second one? but i'm not super sure

Ultima 10-26-2013 03:26 PM

I know I don't have the second one XD I just made a guess that sounded good.

Shadami 10-26-2013 03:27 PM

i think i got vespertine shoes from the first riddle? Though.. i'm not sure what those are. I just don't remember having them before >.<

and i've heard the second one before as well. (like the first) I just can't remember the answer so its kind of a guesish.

Suzerain of Sheol 10-26-2013 03:34 PM

Clearly these riddles are far too simple.

I propose the following:

Quote:

You are about to enter a chamber inhabited by three omniscient gods, Past, Present, and Future. You do not know which god is which, and while they understand all languages, they answer only in their own (and will only answer Yes/No question), with either Da or Ja. You do not know which word means Yes and which means No.

Before you enter, you must formulate three questions, one asked to each god, in order to determine the identity of all three. When a question is asked, all three gods will answer: Past will answer the previous question asked, Present will answer the current question, and Future will answer the question you are about to ask. Dynamic questions are not allowed as they could potentially tear apart the space-time continuum with a paradox.

What three questions will allow you to successfully determine the identities of the three gods?

Shadami 10-26-2013 03:38 PM

why the heck would i bother? There is no apparent reason to enter the chamber. or to actually know which god is which.

I think that's actually correct to the way I wrote it. Do consider I was quoting from memory of my logic professor telling it to me several years ago. :P

I believe there's supposed to be a stipulation like, Past answers the last question that was asked by whoever came in before, and Future the opposite.

I just remember him showing us the answer and it required a huge proof to explain why it worked. :D

I believe the basic premise is you have to first ask a very specific "trick" question that will reveal 100% which answer means which, followed by another hypothetical along the lines of "If you were past, would you say yes to X?" and so on.

It's basically the classic 2 Guards and the doors to life and death, one who lies and one who always tells the truth turned up to 11. :P

I do like Shadami's Gordian Knot solution though.

Gallagher 10-26-2013 07:44 PM

-waves at suze-

Prizes are only awarded after the answer has been announced! But yes, they will magically appear for you. :s-awesome:
