I enjoyed seeing it. It gave me feels at certain points, and I wanted to hug certain characters... But I also felt that toward the end, there were several points they could have ended the film at and still had a complete story, with a good jumping-off point for the sequel.

Oh aye, I agree with you. At the very least,

Definitely. Or even a "Hello".

We finally got to see it just before the new year! It was good and I enjoyed it for what it was, but it left both me and my partner with too many questions. :/

the way it ended ensured that we'd all be back for Episode VIII.

actually, i'm going to be the odd one out and say that I liked the ending.

having spent the better part of the time since 2011 immersed the EU, i did like the movie, and i'll be there for Episodes 8 and 9.

Oh aye. It was still a decent ending. And I've already seen it 3 times because, eh, there's not much else going on here. I'm just glad that we're getting good Star Wars films again and I am much excite for Rogue One because maybe there'll be more Poe making wisecracks.

Personally I like it that buddy didn't say anything at the end. I thought the gesture, and lack of a responding gesture, had more weight to it. Closure can be over-rated.:P

trystan830 01-06-2016 10:51 PM

i agree with you there, Quiet Man.

I wanted a pair of Kylo Ren 3D glasses but they were all sold out (and suspiciously missing from out local theater). Alas, I may have to turn to ebay, but not sure I want to spend that much money for a novelty.

They still look pretty cool though.

trystan830 01-07-2016 12:19 AM

i had no idea there were novelty 3D glasses...

Quiet Man Cometh 01-07-2016 01:56 AM

They were available for sale at concession when I went. It was a big theatre, but they were supposed to be available at all showings I heard. They had four types, one of those "collect them all" sort of things I guess.

trystan830 01-07-2016 11:18 AM

oh wow, that's really cool, Quiet Man. i didn't see those at my theatre, which was a 14-screen theater.

on the other hand, we had nice, big, comfy reclining seats. =)

Quiet Man Cometh 01-09-2016 01:56 AM

All about big comfy seats! We tried to get a 2D show but only regular theatres had any available, and I wanted my reserved seating. Takes so much stress out of looking for a seat or lining up early to get a decent one, or trying to fit everyone in one area.

trystan830 01-09-2016 09:16 PM

i wanted to see it in 2D - twice. and the first time, when i went with my daughters, they didn't have three seats together, so we saw it in 3D. the second time i went they had one seat left - the far left seat in the first row. 3D again. =)

Guys I have seen this movie so many times now. Trying to wrangle up some people so I can go see it again tonight.

trystan830 01-10-2016 09:56 PM

i'll go with!

wait... where are you located? ;)
