My Windows 7 laptop battery is dying and I'm having a hard time finding a replacement. These things are built for obsolescence. XD

No kidding. Shadowmaru (My laptop) is a Windows 7 machine... I got a bad battery in 2014 and finally just plugged him straight into the power source, without a battery, because I can't find a battery that's good, and doesn't cost me $50.

I wanted to bake a cake.

Boxed spice cake with canned cream cheese frosting.

And I am thinking about making a hash brown casserole too!

Yummy. Spice cake is my absolute favorite. Have you ever made it with applesauce instead of the oil?

I like making cakes and brownies that way... I don't do it as often as I probably should though... >.>;;

I do baking for each holiday, I like for us to have a nice treat for the holiday. I even try to do neat cakes and such.

I know that you can substitute applesauce for oil. And I have done it before, but not for spice cake. Is it better with applesauce? :o

The only reason I am baking the cake though is because it expires today. XD;; I hate it when food goes to waste.

I think it's moister and tastes better with the applesauce.

BTW - boxed things will last a little while after their expiration date, usually.

Drats, I have some applesauce that I've been trying to get rid of too. XD

Ah well, maybe next time.

I like applesauce with a few slices of cheddar cheese.
