Why do cats love to chew on plastic so much?!
XD |
Mice even eat plastic. By choice. As for cats, maybe it feels like skin or bones, depending on the density of the plastic being chewed on.
|
My one cat chews on everything from grocery sacks to the more stiff/cellophane type shrink wrap plastics that stuff like some boxes of candy or bath bombs can be wrapped in.
The other one isn't much of a plastic chewer, but he does go for my yarn. |
It could be that the crackling sound entertains them, too. Same idea as tossing a ball of crumpled paper for them to bat around. Bonus points if it's shimy wrapping paper.
|
I definitely think the sound has something to do with it. At least a little. Because he also loves crinkly cat toys.
|
one of our cats loves shiny things. He has made off with bits of wire, bottle caps, paperclips, sewing needles... and he knows where we keep them.
Our other cat will steal twist ties like what come on packages of bread. |
Rosie loved playing with the plastic rings off of the gallon jugs of milk. Simba had a fascination with Hot Wheels. Dean hunts ponytail bands, to the point of pulling them out of my hair.
(Yeah, had to experiment with a Dridery avatar.) |
Car cat.

Cats are so weird. But I love them.
|
Has anyone else here ever had a kitten that was magnetically attracted to and dead set on being stuck to butts?
