I don't have one, and I'm kind of reluctant to get one. I like my books in tangible form. I do, however, want to read some titles that are exclusively for e-readers.
|
Me too. But mine was a Christmas gift so I've been playing around with it and I have to admit it is handy since I don't have much space for books right now. I still mostly buy paperback books but I do peruse the reader store for freebies from new authors or cheap sales to expand my interests. I prefer it to buying a book I don't really know if I'd be interested in.

I love my kindle. It has made it so i can read my favorite books that I have no room to store at college since I am moving every year or so.... I hate not having space. I love rereading books.

eReaders.. it seems like sucha silly concept to me. I almost feel like I'm cheating, you know? I know a few people that have one, and they almost have all said the same thing: Stick with buying the books. Although I do see the benefits of having one.. [I.E I'd never have to replace books that have shelf wear, which bugs the crap out of me] I wouldn't want to spend that kind of money on one.

For me I got one for christmas, i wouldn't have bought it myself.
|
Baha. Everyone knows not to get me one. I'd probably rage. Hard.
|
My grandparents got it for me... I can't really be upset with them. But it is nice for when I'm off at college and can't actually have books....
|
See, I can totally imagine how that would be useful.
But no matter what situation I'm in, I make sure to have room for mah bookies. <333 |
I kept a few of my favorites with me... But after moving three times, I had to take them home, they were getting too beat up... One of my favorite ones the spine ripped... So i had to buy a new one. And this way i can buy new books and have them be quite a bit cheaper... And then when I finally get a place of my own where i actually have room for a bookcase

I don't have one. This means I should get one...
Or should I? I shall ever remain a mystery! >3 |
My books are my babies. I shall never betray them~!
|
._. I actually /don't/ get what you mean by cheating...
Another little feature I love about at least the nook (I dunno about the kindle) is that you can sample books. You click the "download free sample" and you get the first twenty/thirty pages about. It's just enough, for me at least, to know if I like the writing style or not. Not to mention, those fricken huge books I have I won't read probably for a looong time cause... I don't want to carry them around. But if I had them on my nook, I could. ~snugs nook~ |
Yea the kindle is the same way. I love mine.

I would have been every thankful if I had my eReader on college soley for the purpose of not having to transport the entire works of Chaucer, hardcover, to class every other day. It would also free up shelf space for the books I actually want to buy and read :D. Though when it comes down to it, I do prefer to work with pages and pens rather than electronic stuff, but it's handy enough.
|
Yea its really nice out at college. You can buy textbooks on there!
|
Azrael;; Thats okay. My brain works in strange ways. If I was a nook, or a kindle, or any one of those electronic devices that WASN'T a paperback book.. I would feel like I was betraying my babies at home. xD; Or somehow cheating the author of said book, out of money. <.<; Even though I so wouldn't be.
