*grumbles*
Children these days...they don't know real music. D:

Sadrain 05-05-2011 01:44 PM

What you consider real music? x3

Lauv Keiko 05-05-2011 01:58 PM

Like Yanni...his works are just amazing...I'm crying to one song now ;=;

Duchess 05-05-2011 02:01 PM

But songs that make you cry aren't fun! XDDD

Different songs have different purposes. You can argue that mainstream stuff have meaningless lyrics, but do you HONESTLY want to dance to the deep songs? Have fun singing along with them with a group of friends?

Stupid songs are WAAAY more fun. I can't tell you how much more I enjoy singing Poker face with a bff... rather than belting out Unbreak My Heart >3>

It's Karaoke Party... not Karaoke Idol. I think it's more for parties and fun than proving your singing talents.

Sadrain 05-05-2011 02:03 PM

Ohh. I will look him up later. Well, I do like the out of "fashion" singers, personally, like Engelbert Humperdnick, Muslim Magomayev and quuuuite a few others.

Kaguya 05-05-2011 02:04 PM

I have take out.

Sadrain 05-05-2011 02:05 PM

Honestly, I have fun singing along my songs... Like Nemo, by Nightwish. I sing along and feel good. I sing out my emotions and feel like I am doing something meaningful, at least for me. And I just can't sing along to song that sounds like crap, and most popular songs do. :/

What's that, Chasm? O_o

Duchess 05-05-2011 02:10 PM

Take-out? Like chinese food.... =9 Sounds YUM!!

And yes Rainy I agree with you there... but that's alone. Imagine doing that with other people. Is fun for everyone... or just you??

Sadrain 05-05-2011 02:11 PM

Well, if people like the same music as I do, or are open to all sorts of music in general, then yes. P=
If not... Then I will be the one not having fun most probably, so... XD

Anyways, I in general don't sing with others or when anyone but my mom hears. x3

Lauv Keiko 05-05-2011 02:15 PM

@Duchess: or maybe fast food like McDonalds? XD

@Sadrain: Yanni is actually very popular...to the contemporary classic enthusiasts :3

Sadrain 05-05-2011 02:18 PM

I am always on the lookout for finding good voices and good songs. =^-^= My mom shares some of the names, not all I like, but I try to find and pick them up elsewhere, too.
On random note, Charles Aznavour has epiccc voice. Another "oldie".

Ahh~ but is that party? Or is it just like watching an episode of American Idol ;]

You see.. i've been to karaoke parties and whatnot IRL. There's always someone who chooses a deep song and sings it well. But all the other peopl who are waiting on their turns, just can't do anything but sit and listen... and clap when its done. They don't want to join in because it may ruin the other person's singing and they look like they're putting on a show.

Now.. the person who sings something silly and fun. The other people KNOW they're not being serious. And they get up off their seats, grab a second mic and sing ALONG with them rather than just listening. The people people who don't care to go up, they sing in their seats or dance. And it turns into laughter and fun.

There's just a difference. Stupid songs make a better party. Smart ones make a better show.

I don't want to attend a show.. I wanna throw a parteh =P

This is just from my experience with karaoke, on many occasions.

Kaguya 05-05-2011 02:20 PM

Chinese food FTW!

Sadrain 05-05-2011 02:21 PM

Well, I've never been to karaoke and probably never will, 'cause like I said. I don't sing when people can hear me. XD And I sing songs only I have heard & read lyrics at the same time and know really well, even when I am alone. xD
