It's because of the name that we assume that's the character we play like Super Mario, it's not Super Peach

Super Peach? hehe~ I've played Super Mario Smash Brothers and Link was the guy everyone wanted to play because he could shoot people from a helocopter. That is the limit to most of my Zelda knowledge. The rest is intricate guess work

Yeah, I assumed Zelda was the main character's name until playing Ocarina of Time for the first time. Found out real fast that it wasn't and felt a bit bad....*chuckles*
