Looks like a drop in role play. You can either play as a regular character that works in the tattoo parlor, or a customer or character who just drops in from time to time, if I have Faux's comments down right.

Labyrinth is a movie and the Goblin City is a location in the film where the role play is set. It's in the middle of the Labyrinth, more or less. The basic plot of the film is that a young girl wishes her baby brother away and he's taken by the goblin king, and she has 13 hours to find her way through the Labyrinth to get him back. It's a good flick, has lots of amusing characters. Brian Froud was the creative director, and did Dark Crystal as well. Both are Jim Henson movies.

<3 <3 I love Brian Frouds art work so much. My library has the dark crystal art book and the glyphs in it are amazingly designed.

And yes we have far to little walk in rps. This one really doesn't require much of a plot. Its mostly just character interactions to make the conflict.

This is a drop in role play, but obviously if you wanted to be a permanent character we can set that up.

Espy, you can still make a character! <3

QMC, I'll be getting on my alt in a few to bring up the actual thread.

Poggio, I would love to have you!

Law, This is a drop in RP based on the movie Labyrinth.

Quiet Man Cometh 02-04-2014 03:00 AM

Do we need to come up with a character sheet first or can we hop in with something while we're working on an *actual* character?

Vicious Whisper 02-04-2014 03:10 AM

Feel free to hop on it!

Quiet Man Cometh 02-04-2014 03:19 AM

Will get around to appearance when someone decides to take a look at...um...haven't decided gender yet. That may remain undetermined.

Vicious Whisper 02-04-2014 10:02 PM

So you are basically saying you are pulling a David Bowie. :D

Lawtan 02-05-2014 12:09 AM

I'll drop in somewhere - after I figure out who's doing what.

Fauxreal 02-05-2014 12:13 AM

We just drop in really.
Vicious, my alt - runs the place.

Lawtan 02-05-2014 02:25 PM

Hmm - I accidently mistook it for Pan's Labyrinth at first...will have to find a version of the movie...I've read several things that reference it...what do the positions mean? (tattoo artist, piercer, etc.)

Espy 02-05-2014 03:18 PM

oh my god I don't even remember what the balls I did to deserve that siggy mention <3

Also, I claim an artist position! ....when I'm...not....you know. Dying under homework.

My guess, being completely ignorant of such things for the most part, are that the positions refer to what people do in the shop. Tattoo artist I expect is self explanatory. Piercers handle body piercings. Customers are getting stuff done, random people perhaps show up, look around the shop, leave, hang out and badger the staff...and the goblins are the general denizens of the Goblin City. Google "Labyrinth film" under images to get an idea of the city's aesthetic.

EDIT: Okay, going with original conversation now. :P

Vicious Whisper 02-06-2014 12:14 AM

Thanks QMC for explaining... everything. :)

So this role play takes place in a tattoo parlor.
All of the potions are 'jobs' there.

I'm sorry I completely took for granted that people would know about jobs in a tattoo parlor, which if you know the movie Labyrinth, you would know how ironic that is.

Lawtan 02-06-2014 12:57 AM

Thanks. ;D
Well...what positions are still open? (Piercer or Tattoo artist)
...I thought that they may have meant something else... *shrugs*

Quiet Man Cometh 02-06-2014 01:10 AM

For the benefit of people who haven't seen the film: (mild spoiler I suppose) "ello"

Lawtan 02-06-2014 01:16 AM

...I am looking for this movie, now.
