Though they have calmed down a lot on Cash sales.....it's bearable now at least though I did add one filter to adblock-the banner ad for a sale on the actual gaia cash had to go.

I wish they would have kept switchem around....good way to get gold that was less than booty grab. Dunno about zomg. I never play it lol.

So, can someone compare the other Avatar Sites to Tris
(Mainly Curious about Syndrone)

I can compare: Tris=slowest website I'm on
Syndrome, from my experience is more active etc, but they just launched 6-7 months ago and already had to do a roll back.
Gaia: Explore for yourself.
Ernya: Take that back, this might be the slowest. Though they do have lotteries for items now and again. Games.
Menewsha: I think everything is slow since Gaia was my first. Have regular events, but they only last a day or two longer than amount of pure event items (other items are available for event currency, but will be in shops for double gold price-also all event items can be bought with gold instead of event currency if you have enough) Got more donations here when I was new than anywhere else.
Roliana: The avatars' heads are too forward on the necks D: Layering.

I don't know what you want to know really so .-.

I only frequent 3 avatar sites, Trisphee (which has become my main one when I can find someone to chat with), Midorea (I just like the battle system there even if all I do is click a button xD, I just like lvl-ing up my avi/character) and Gaia (which while normally active at any time of the day I only use for the sake of dressing up my avatar).

I have accounts of Solia, Rolliana and Ernya but I never really got into them, the avatars and items there are just a bit too shiny for me >.>...

I really don't think Gaia will ever recover from it's Flynn induced inflation even if they stop with the sales and never bring Flynn back, the damage is just simply too big for the economy to ever recover, that and no matter what Gold sinks Gaia makes people can chose to simply not use them.

While I am in part trying to fit in to things like Tris (having a good amount of time and experiences that I'll likely never know), I am also trying to find "young" places/new communities - where the "I'll just watch awkwardly while everyone else chats about many past experiences in Klingon" is less frequent. I am a newbie to most things in life...I just wish I could find some places with more active newbies.

It's fine :3. I wouldn't say that being a newbie makes you more likely to not understand what people are talking about, there aren't really any cliques around (from what I can tell) so you can always start up a conversation with anyone about pretty much whatever you can :3.

I personally like Syndrone.
The people there are nice.
And the threads are pretty active.

Menewsha will always be my home.

dude, nice or not the avi system there is a joke ^^;;; i cannot hardly navigate it or get it to load and i am an aviwhore so that is a total dealbreaker though i am interested to know if the station ever happened

By the way, Elidiun is now apparently up for sale, and I'm not even gonna hope that the new owner, if there even is going to be one, will take care of the site properly.

@choco: I actually like the avatar system here o.O. My only complaint would be that it takes a while to load the items but, considering the amount of poses I think it's to be expected :3.

@Espy: Well, personally I think it's better than just closing it down ^^;. Who knows, the new owner (if someone does buy it) might even be able to manage it well, especially if they're already a user :3.

sweetie, i am talking about on syndrone, many of the items never load and the ones that do(it is a crapshoot which it will be) often glitch part of the way through and refuse to upload all of the color/pose options

the dye system is also bogus

I'd say they shut down because of a lack of things to do (games most likely)
For example;
The main bonus with gaia is that there are a lot of interesting games you can play that suck you right in and give you something to do if no one's answering your posts at that time. Also, it's a way to get fun little prizes as well.

However, regardless of how cute the avis, if someone is easily able to get bored then the likely hood that they'll return to the site diminishes.

I'm mostly active here on Tris (not as much as I was, comes and goes) and Syn. I'd say I'm most active on Syndrone at the moment
We'll see how Gaia fares this time next year I'll be curious to see. It and Ernya and Solia...Solia will keep on truckin right along though I suspect, it's had it's issues but never seems to be as turbulent as some other places/idle predictions lol

I'm generally active just on Tris, not cause I dont have accounts on other sites, its really because here people will actually reply and can keep a conversation going. I liked Syn but I found it reasonably difficult to connect with people.

Actually, Syndrone has been giving me troubless - every time I try to make an account and introduce myself, it works for a while, then both my post and account is lost.
Have they fixed the Avatar issues? It may have been related.

That doesn't seem to be related to avatars.

Also, they did just have a rollback, so maybe try again? And if you're afraid that it'll keep happening, maybe make your first post in the Help section about the problem.

Sometimes I try and chat with them and they ignore me but I just brush it off.

Syndrone had a rollback.
People who joined before the rollback have to join again.

This error was where the item....in shops...the thumbnails were if you dyed it a certain color....though if I had clicked on every single thumbnail to try each pose (which some I could not see unless I stripped and saved my avatar) it would've shown the correct color on my avatar.

This admin didn't see that as a problem/error/whatever.

And I still can't really see them.

No, only accounts that were made between the rollback and when it was rolled back to were deleted. (Which would be, IIRC, Nov 1, and it's highly likely that Law created an account within that timeframe.)

Even after you've bought them? Because the previews are a bit messed up; some parts are apparently transparent. But once you buy them, the whole item is black, until you dye it.
