Belfry Bats Exploring the mansion

oh my bad..thanks though :) I just joined the site a few days ago and am still going around looking at everything lol.

(forgive me if I'm doing this wrong, as I'm still a bit unclear about the rules and steps to follow)

As we file into the kitchen, Illusion strikes up a conversation with the woman in the red dress. After some idle chatter, he asks "So, do you happen to know where Ari might be?" He patiently awaits a response while I and the rest of the group mill about uncomfortably.

If the lady doesn't talk...
*gestures towards crossbow*
I'm going to ask her to hold my crossbow so I can write her a strongly worded letter.

*uncommitted observer cackling in delight*

The woman giggles, and is completely won over by Illusion's charm and wit. She says that her name is Honey, and that she has been hired as the chef for this place not more than ten days ago. Apparently, there is a large feast to cook for and they needed more hands on deck, so to speak.

Honey shakes her head as Illusion asks for the whereabouts of Ari. "I'm sorry," she says softly. "I'm afraid I don't know who that is. There hasn't been anyone in this kitchen for at least three days that I know of - I'm sure I would have heard someone come in, since my bedroom is right next to the door on the other side. I did, however, see a cat?"

She slides Illusion a picture of the kitchen three days ago. "I took a photo for posterity when I started making the pies for the feast - just so I could show my employer that I'm a neat cook. Apparently he values cleanliness."

PUMPKIN PATCH, You have three choices. You may:

- Interrogate the young man
- Investigate the photo
- Go back, and choose one of the previous options for this room

As Illusion asks the photo random and possibly nonsensical questions (How long have you been a photo? Do you LIKE having pictures inside you?), tsukiko questions the young man shyly, asking for any interesting information.

(Personally, I'd like to think a photo from three days ago won't help much, but maybe we'll get a chance to check it out later if this leads nowhere.)

Has Ari been missing around the same time as the photo was taken because the photo can show people taking them in it's background (an idea)

Or maybe she has Ari in her bedroom since why nobody came into the kitchen because SHE DID IT and that is why she saw nobody and stuff

I'd like to say we don't have enough information to assume anything XD

Are you sure? I mean it must be one tough photo, after developing from a negative and such. Maybe you're facing the end boss in disguise right now.

Maybe the photo is a shapeshifter though. Trying to lead you astray by morphing into the least suspicious thing in the room.

[Apologies for the late replies. I have been ill the past two days.]

The young man starts a bit as you approach him. He is in very simple, comfortable clothing, consisting of an oversize t-shirt, and very soft sweatpants - they just happen to be all black. Once he realizes that you're not a threat, he finishes cleaning up the knocked-over plant, and sets it right again before turning around to face you.

"I'm sorry I didn't see you there. Or hear you. I'm partially deaf and half-blind." He grins sheepishly, and scrubs his hand through a mop of dark hair. There appears to be a bandage - also black - wrapped around one of his wrists, and his throat.

"Can I help you with something?"

When you ask him if he's noticed anything interesting, he thinks for a moment, then shrugs. "K had some sort of gate or grate-thing set up near the gardens, and there was talk of some sort of shady business happening in the upstairs bathroom... but that's all I know about that. I'm here for the lux, and to be food. I'm not exactly allowed to know much about what goes on here."

[Meanwhile, the Photograph remains belligerently silent]

Illusion, I think the photo isn't speaking our language.

@Ari: No worries. Hope you're feeling better already ^^

Since the Belfry Bats have decided to enter the Ballroom, a smallish child leads them through a long and winding series of hallways, down a small flight of stairs, up another one, and finally into two large redwood doors flanked by gold decorations. As the doors swing open with a creak, the exquisite ballroom is open for perusal.

The child stands to the side - probably making sure they don't steal anything. This room is IMMENSE. There are two winding bannister staircases that go up either side of the room, and wind up somewhere on the second floor - and to a large locked room. The floor of the ballroom is done up with blood-red and ice-blue tile, both spun through with gold and silver so that the floor appears to sparkle when hit with light at the right angle. There is a gigantic grand piano set on a small 'stage' of dark wood off to the right, and on the left sits a long, empty banquet table, ready to be filled with delicious food. Various instruments are also strewn around on the stage, and a massive birdcage-like apparatus hangs from the ceiling in the center of that stage area.

Out on the dancefloor proper, there is not a SPECK of dust, and lovely red carpet blankets the back half of the room - which leads to a nice little cubby-hole bar where a young man in a fancy coat sits, nursing some sort of drink. He's the only one in this area. There is movement off to the left, toward another set of double-doors, and there almost appears to be a tail disappearing through the door... What would the Belfry Bats like to do?

- Talk to the sole person at the bar
- Mess with the instruments
- Mess with the piano
- Investigate the birdcage
- Try and catch that tail

*Puts photo in wallet then in pocket*
I wasted enough time, I'll threaten it later.
I say we go to the garden!

I certainly like the idea of going somewhere else. I'm not sure if we can since we didn't get a list of options on the last segment? Or we just have to wait XD

Gizzie gotta go potty lol

Gizzie tugs on my tail and gives me a pleading look. "I gotta go potty..." she whispers, giggling lightly. I round up our group and we head down to the nearby bathroom. When we get to the door, Gizzie rushes in, eager to take care of what she needs.

Action taken:
-Head to one of the adjoining rooms [The downstairs bathroom]
