uff, dah. You have my sympathies.

littl3chocobo 01-01-2020 03:07 AM

yeah, sadly my motherinlaw loves salt to the point where you can see the stuff sitting in a pile on top. it's gross and even when something is salted it gets salted again for posterity

Biomecha 01-01-2020 03:16 AM

Ah yeah, I can definitely see how one could develop an aversion with something like that. Your sense of taste needs a lifetime to recover.

Den 01-01-2020 03:19 AM

I mean, I like salting my pasta water, and my rice cooking water, but even I know when something is salty enough.

littl3chocobo 01-01-2020 03:22 AM

to be fair though i love the heckin heck out of spice<3 i am the only one i know who keeps tarragon and mustard out along with the pepper and onion XD

Den 01-01-2020 03:23 AM

I would cook with more spices if I was allowed to cook more often and my parents weren't picky eaters.

littl3chocobo 01-01-2020 03:24 AM

are you able to portion out any food for yourself? even if it is just ramen and eggs a couple times a week for lunch it is good to get practice in

Biomecha 01-01-2020 03:27 AM

I used to need everything with some sort of enhancement, but now have gotten used to not using anything to season other than a bit salt. It's actually seemed to help improve my sense of taste with more subtle things.

littl3chocobo 01-01-2020 03:35 AM

that is totally fair too

Den 01-01-2020 03:38 AM

I can cook for myself, but I'm not really allowed to cook stuff for the rest of the family.

littl3chocobo 01-01-2020 03:39 AM

how about for now you cook for yourself? eventually when you are comfortable and have a fair grasp of it the smell might tempt someone into giving your dishes a try ^^

Den 01-01-2020 03:47 AM

Oh, I'm comfortable cooking, it's just I live with picky eaters who bitch about the smell of stuff when I cook, and who refuse to even try things.

littl3chocobo 01-01-2020 03:47 AM

hm, this might not be a productive conversation

daikokunyo 01-01-2020 11:50 AM

cook for yourself and let them bang their own heads about their eats

Den 01-01-2020 07:26 PM

Thing is, Mom doesn't use enough salt, and dad cooks things on too high of heat. and since I really don't like wasting food, it means I don't cook a lot, and I don't eat a lot of what gets cooked at our house, which then makes me feel guilty.

dragoness129 01-01-2020 08:26 PM

They may be softer than a beanbag, but they are also colder.

littl3chocobo 01-02-2020 05:16 AM

softer+colder works for me

daikokunyo 01-02-2020 09:07 AM

i have fluffy blankets too, if any of you want warmth. all you gotta do is throw it over the snowdrift and then sink in.

some of the quotes i get really match with what i post for them whew it's uncanny

speaking of, what are my words doing in your signature xDDD

Death by Mirrors 01-03-2020 06:09 PM

You know you've reached the peak of Trisphee fame when someone else starts quoting you in their sig.

mdom 01-03-2020 08:23 PM

trisphee famous is like, famous in the middle of a dozen poeple max so I'm not worried

for now

Den 01-03-2020 08:46 PM

I'd say I'm pretty neutral on being quoted in a signature, tbph. but sometimes, someone just says something that needs to be preserved for posterity's sake.

littl3chocobo 01-03-2020 09:00 PM

i mean, you say that but most of what gets quoted around here is silly rubbish that probably should be forgotten as soon as possible

it's the equivalent of framing them up on my wall: if i quoted you in my signature it means i want to read what you said over and over again, at random times whenever my eyes happen to fall on the quote :p-grin:

*lurks about and tries to get more snowflakes*

daikokunyo 01-05-2020 10:35 AM
