It's always easier to believe your fighting a monster rather than a human being, but that's exactly what it is, was, and will be. It's just that being human doesn't always mean being decent.

By the way, I changed my last post to fix some of my wording. Though Hitler didn't hide everything, there were a lot of things that the German citizens didn't know about, such as the camps. I'm not defending Nazis in anyway, by the way. It's just what I know from people actually from Germany.

Also, this PPG episode: Lots of singing, most of it terrible, but I'm watching it anyways. XD

Poggio 02-05-2011 10:28 PM

Lol, I think I can almost guess which episode it is. Is it the one where they have to convert the clown to good?

And its okay xD, I have a friend from Germany that I routinely joke about these things with. I myself am always amazed at the power of propaganda and nationalism.

Taradiddle 02-05-2011 10:35 PM

My mom and I always joke that we never have family reunions because we have German and Czech ancestry, and all our Czech ancestors will killed by Nazis. We're a dark humor kinda family. XD

The episode I'm watching is called "See Me, Feel Me, Gnomey!".

Poggio 02-05-2011 11:30 PM

XD wow, to that I just say how.

Its been a while since I've watch that show. What is that one about?

Taradiddle 02-05-2011 11:38 PM

The whole episode is singing, just about. The Powerpuff Girls can't seem to defeat all the villains of Townsville until a gnome comes out of the ground and says he'll make sure Townsville has peace if they give up their powers. Then eventually do, but all of citizens of the city are mind washed to devote their entire lives around the gnome. (Or the rose, which the gnome rode on. I couldn't hear the lyrics clearly some times.) The Professor sings about Freedom Meat and then the Powerpuff Girls decide it's better to have villains and individuality than to have peace and force everyone to be the same.

Poggio 02-06-2011 12:18 AM

Lol if its on youtube you should send it. I don't think I remember that one.
Then again if its one of the later seasons, I kinda stopped watching after they had that popularity contest.

Taradiddle 02-06-2011 12:29 AM

It was to be the last episode of the last season (and for some other countries, it was) but they banned it in the US. Do you still want a link?

Poggio 02-06-2011 12:31 AM

Si
and I hate when Tv shows do that. I am not sure if they ever aired the last episode of Danny phantom. I read a summery and he was suppose to give his powers too.

Taradiddle 02-06-2011 12:35 AM

Like I said before, there are Spanish subtitles at the bottom, but the audio is English.

Part One: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUWvAg0n89E

Part Two: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZeNLf...eature=related

Part Three: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JS1C...eature=related

Poggio 02-06-2011 12:42 AM

XDDD This is amusing, now I have something to distract me from my homework.
Its okay, that tends to be the only legal way to put things on youtube.

Absinthe 02-06-2011 03:08 AM

I loooove Bugs Bunny cartoons from like, when my mother was young and even before she was born. Those are the greatest! But they are seen as "too violent" these days, which is a load of crap.

Duchess 02-06-2011 03:31 AM

I'm huge Betty Boop fan >w>

That chick is hot <w<

I know every single episode of Powerpuffs.... and can quote some nonsense by heart |D

I love me some Johnny Bravo.. i need to try one of his pick up line like

Girl: Didn't I tell you I have a boyfriend!
Johnny: Well, you look like the type of girl that could use two..

-sigh- if only i could find a place to use that line ;~;

Poggio 02-06-2011 03:57 AM

oh johnny bravo, my dad loved that show so much. I don't think I got it but it was amusing non the less.
XD I had a betty boop metal lunch box.

Echo-chan713 02-06-2011 04:24 PM

Mine was pokemon (the original one) as well as the original yu-gi-oh, then when they kept popping up different people and ne pokemons I stopped watching it.

When it came to yu-gi-oh, at the part when the blimp crashed in the island (which reminds me of Lost) that's when I stopped watching the series.

Jurinjo 02-06-2011 07:04 PM

Lots of things here I haven't heard before. Young Justice I'll have to look into. Courage the Cowardly dog hah, I first saw episdoe 12 with that chicken from outer space. It was too creepy/scary for me and I never actually saw another episode. The moment I realized that's what was on I changed the channel xD

The first episodes of spongebob were weird in their own way...and still weird. But different. Oh and I loved all the oldies but cause I'm tyring to hurry just touching on things mentioned. LIke Teen Titans: I loved that show a lot. Didn't know that movie was the end of it. Nice story for raven haha, mascot for bubble gum.

Echo-chan713 02-06-2011 08:10 PM

I never like Courage because it would scare me and the animation was weird in my taste

Taradiddle 02-06-2011 08:55 PM

I loved and still love Courage the Cowardly Dog BECAUSE it was weird. The weird and the strange is just so fantastic!

What gets me about parents' over-sensitivity is when they say the Tom and Jerry episodes where Tom smokes need to be banned because it will encourage kids to smoke. The cigarettes and cigars pretty much always had a bad ending to them. I never once saw an episode at any age and thought, "Yes... Yes, I too could be cool if I had a cigar that exploded in my face and burned me into ashes!"

Echo-chan713 02-06-2011 09:02 PM

Like those candy cigerettes, they banned those.

But they don't banned pixie stixs

8bit 02-06-2011 11:33 PM

@Taradiddle YEAHH! courage the cowdarly dog :)!

Poggio 02-07-2011 04:08 AM

I must have a grim sense of humor because I loved courage. Katz was my favorite villain and I remembered the one I liked the most for some odd reason was the one with cousin fred, and the one with the balloons that made every one depressed.

Yommy 02-07-2011 03:53 PM

Oh man they need to bring back the old cartoons. I would love to see Looney Tunes on Saturday morning cartoons again. It's like they started blaming tv for kids turning to crime so they took out all the worth watching cartoons instead. An yet here they are bringing out more an more tv shows that are violent or suggestive during hours kids are watching tv. I think they have a few screws loose and should get that fixed an bring back our cartoons. >:{

Echo-chan713 02-07-2011 05:29 PM

Or they are making a show that adults would watch to more kid friendly like reality TV Shows, since parents don't want their kids to watch reality TVs so they made a cartoon reality-show based series.

The thing that drives me nuts is not only how sometimes their sense of humor is different from mine. Kids love slapstick comedy and the follow-ups to the funny parts and for me I find it weird and not to be mean stupid.

And what the characters look like, The females on the show are unrealistically curvy, large busts, a tiny waistlines, then huge hips (reminds me of the Barbie mayhem eras)and god forbid if women have large feet. And the males are skinny from waist down then from the waist up very muscular broad chest and shoulders.

Sarah 02-07-2011 09:01 PM

Everything has also just changed to 3-D mostly..so that's why everything pretty much sucks now. >.<; 2-D animation is just waaaaaaaaaaaaay better. And they have ran out of ideas. l:

Taradiddle 02-07-2011 09:39 PM

I like some of the movies Pixar does, but if 2-D animation goes forever, so do I. Buh-bye, Earth. You have failed me. >:[

Echo: Maybe you just weren't meant to enjoy cartoons? Though admittedly, I think Total Drama Island is the worst cartoon idea ever. (P.S.: It wasn't made by Cartoon Network Studios, Cartoon Network the channel just got the rights to show it. Even so, television studios do not come up with shows. Someone presents them an idea and either they hire that person or they reject the project.)

Echo-chan713 02-08-2011 08:52 PM

True, I was more of the anime type of person, not the American Cartoons (maybe Canadians, not so sure).

They should of rejected that Total Drama Island idea XP

Taradiddle 02-09-2011 08:29 PM

The only Canadian cartoons I know of are Ed, Edd 'n Eddy and Total Drama Island. And yes, Total Drama Island should have totally been rejected. For one, it wasn't funny, secondly, kids do not find reality shows entertaining, and lastly, it's a CARTOON, so you can't even call it a reality show because it's impossible to NOT be scripted.

Also, I finally got around to watching an episode of Young Justice. It's an interesting show, but what the hell is with Jesse McCartney as Robin??? Ah well, fuck it, as long as he does a good job, I'm not gonna care.

Taradiddle 02-09-2011 08:36 PM

I'm the opposite, I have a hard time getting into animes. The cutesy, whiny girls really get to me and I will drop off an anime instantaneously if that character comes up. I'm not too impressed with the art styles either, for the most part. Same body types again and again, same facial expressions again and again...

Though there are a few that have made themselves exceptions to the rule.

Poggio 02-09-2011 10:19 PM

XD its it bad that I enjoyed the first season of Total drama island? I felt like it shouldn't have been on TV though. There should never be a reason, that a cartoon character should have to have his crotch bleeped out on TV.

Duchess 02-10-2011 09:05 AM

I get annoyed at an anime/manga/game when the "genki" girl shows up.... She. Is. Very. Annoying. =_=''
That... and the Type A girl.. That's so loving and kind and a bit shy and asdffgghhhh No.. just.. NO!

That's my beef with eastern stuff right there.. Sometimes those characters can be played off well that it doesn't annoy me. But most of the times... it does not >__<

I too am sad with the lack of traditional 2D *frowns* This world is just getting more and more sucky by the second.

Dont get me wrong... 3D films are gorgeous in their own right.... but when your movie can be just as accurately told in 2D... I just don't see the point.

I just want more traditional stuff. Not direct to video er.. dvd...err...bluray crap! Not piss poor, low budget poopfests that make a Disney Channel Original Movie look like GOLD... and DEF not the syndicated series they have out now. It just doesn't appeal to me... AT ALL

There was a pilot called "The Modifyers".. WHY CAN'T SOMEONE PICK THAT UP?? :V

Taradiddle 02-12-2011 01:48 AM

CG isn't a bad medium for cartoons, but it's not my favorite. Unless it was a sci-fi movie, in which CG would probably be perfect. Not that there haven't been any really AWESOME 2D sci-fi cartoons before, (Treasure Planet, anyone?), but CG would get all those little details that really make a sci-fi visually fantastic. Yet, for all the tiny, amazing details that can be put into a CG cartoon, I feel like it doesn't push the same boundaries that 2-D does.

As for 3D in movies... I feel like it's really unnecessary, as far as the popping out effect goes, at least. Now, if it were used more for defining the depth of fore-front objects and characters against background objects and scenery, then I would consider it a lot more polishing. (Like, instead of pushing front objects closer, make background go back.)

Iggy 02-12-2011 10:48 PM

I never liked Courage the Cowardly Dog.
It scared me as a child so I still don't watch it.
I don't know what's with the live-action these days.
Some of them are good, not very many though, but the majority of them suck. o.o

Taradiddle 02-13-2011 11:03 PM

Somebody should tell live action to go back to the kitchen and make us some cartoons.

I hate them too DX, other than the fact that they made them useful later on. You hate them, but thank God they're there cause then you would of died.

Like Anri from DRRR, she was basically nonexistent until she became the main slasher and her personality really shown through and became totally awesome.

Haze 02-20-2011 05:32 PM

Tom and Jerry too.
The promote animal abuse without showing all that much abuse. xD
Like the whole truth behind it.
If you cut off a cats tail it won't grow back... like in Tom and Jerry.
My littlest brother actually believed he could burn off the whiskers of my cat just because it happened on that cartoon. xD;

Nanka 02-27-2011 02:31 AM

I find it quite unfortunate the changes Cartoon Network made itself. I can't stand them showing all this live action bull crap and not enough cartoons. That is why they go by CN now and not Cartoon Network. I really miss when I was younger watch Cartoon Cartoon Fridays being hosted by characters from the cartoon shows that are apart of Cartoon Network. The shows they have on now are amateur and not all that interesting. Sadly, there is nothing any of us really can do, but not watch it. :c

Echo-chan713 02-27-2011 02:35 AM

same as Nickelodean, I remember on Nickelodean was Hey Arnold, that was a great program, now Nick is becoming more live action than cartoon same goes for Disney. Doing cartoons are actually cheaper than doing live action and it seems to be more awesome

Nanka 02-27-2011 02:47 AM

I guess maybe kids these days like live action better than cartoons? WHAT HAVE WE REPRODUCED? /cries ;~;

Echo-chan713 02-28-2011 03:41 PM

We have reproduce reality makers than animated makers DX

Rem 02-28-2011 08:09 PM

I grew up on Looney Tunes <333 There are some Chuck Jones shorts that I still feel are works of art, like the one about the alien that comes to earth ... then when I got a wee bit older it was aaall Tiny Toons / Animaniacs / Batman (the ORIGINAL 8D Altho I liked the Bruce Timm ones too) and Gargoyles
I remember coming home from school and plopping right in front of the tv to watch some Tiny Toons <3 oh oh and Freakazoid <33
and I remember Saturdays were actually full of cartoons..like, full!
The Real Ghostbusters ... Beetlejuice... Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...Thundercats...

What the hell did they do to Saturdays :[

Blaine 02-28-2011 08:36 PM

I watched Cow and Chicken, Rocko's Modern Life, Digimon, Pokemon, Sailor Moon, Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Lab, DGZ, Ahh! Real Monsters, Marc Weiner's Weinerville, Kablam!, Blues Clues with Steve, Gulla Gulla Island, Little Bear, RICHARD SCARY. I loooove Richard Scary. xD

That's all my childhood right there~
What a lovely childhood~
