((Sounds good to me. Um...Where to skip to?))

"Is it a bad one?" Sayaku asked his friend curiously, chuckling. "It's new for me to not be called by a nickname actually... I've never been called 'Sayaku' by itself as often as I have since I got here." A laugh continued from him before he began to walk the path told to them.

Honor 03-08-2011 11:00 PM

((Perhaps to when the get back to their dorm?))

"No, it's fine. I like it, actually. Olive has been my only nickname until now. Well actually there was-" She cut off as she realized who she was talking to. She had been about to mention her other nickname, Via, but she knew that was far to girly.

She searched her brain for a way to distract him from her slip-up. Surely he would want her to fnish her sentence so leaving it hanging would be impossible. "When I was really little my mom would call me songbird. Not because I could sing well or anything, but becuase I certainly sang a lot." She grinned, and seeing a turn in their path they needed to make unthinkingly placed her hand on Saya's shoulder as if to guide him. She misjudged it's location however, and her hand went a little higher, making her fingers rest on his neck. "Ah, sorry." She pulled her hand away, her fingers tingling where they had touched him.

Juneberry 03-08-2011 11:11 PM

((Kay. I shall initialize the skip in this post!))

"S'alright. Thanks for catching my attention. I almost walked into a wall...Man that's lame!" Sayaku laughed, patting his friend's back in a nonchalant manner. "Songbird huh? My mom always called me the same thing everyone else does. Saya. Though dad used to call me sport but... Eh, in general I had no special nicknames. My sister has far more then I do. I like to call her Flute 'cause it annoys her. She makes this funny face when she's annoyed..." He laughed thinking about it.

When classes ended, Sayaku headed back to the dorm room and took a seat on his bed after muttering the words 'I'm back'. He looked up in a daze at the bed above his, chuckling a bit. "Man today was a pain. But at least I got to play drums..." Sayaku was a rounded musician, but even he had a favorite instrument. "How was it for you, Olive?"

((Sorry I basically forced your character in ;-; It was the first thing I could think to say that didn't make Sayaku sound like he was insanely talking to himself 'cause I dunno if Olivia/er is there or not.))

Honor 03-08-2011 11:24 PM

((Oh it's fine, lol it would be funny if he was talking to himself... but I'm not that cruel.... most of the time, so she's there ^_^ ))

She felt chagrined at his nonchalant reaction to her touch. Hadn't he felt the same tingling sensation that she had? She knew he didn't see her as the lest bit feminine, but there had to something that might get him to realize, on a physical level, that she was in fact a girl. Not that she should want that. She should want him to be just as oblivious as he seemed to be. However his noticing nothing... it irked her, and bruised her pride. It was a petty thing, she knew, but it made her want to make her female nature more known. But she would not do that. She could not do that. She took a deep breath and looked at Saya from the corner of her eye. The breath went out of her as did much of her resolve, but she continued to believe she would not act on these petty feelings.

Olivia lay on her back, staring at the ceiling as Sayaku came in. She smiled as he recounted his day. When he asked her about hers she moved so that her body hung a little of her bunk so she could peer down at him. "Pretty good. As far as school goes that is. We're painting shapes in my art class, trying to get shading down and what-not."

Juneberry 03-08-2011 11:30 PM

"Don't hang too far over the edge or you'll fall." Sayaku replied with a simple expression of concern on his face. His lips weren't smiling or frowning, but they did turn into a smile quickly. "Glad your day was okay. Shading shapes huh? I wonder if that's more fun than going over chords..." He chuckled. "Though chords are cool for guitars, I was working on drums today. So it wasn't like I was able to do the same exact thing as everyone else. Though I did love improv..."

Honor 03-08-2011 11:39 PM

Olivia laughed and rolled her eyes. "I'm not going to fa-" She was cut off as her sheets slipped from her fingers and she began a downward descent. Before she really fell however she caught herself. She let out a deep breathe of relief and opened her eyes after having squeezed them shut when she had started to fall. She found herself nose to nose, quite literally since their noses were just barely touching, with Saya. Their faces were so close and all Olivia could think of was how she hoped her breath did not stink since he would no doubt be able to smell it in this close proximity. She cleared her throat. "Um, improv, sounds cool. What did you do?" She heard herself ask as if she were not in a potentially awkward situation.

Juneberry 03-08-2011 11:42 PM

Even Sayaku found that particular position to be awkward, and thus leaned back to slide out from under his head, putting a hand on each shoulder. "You want to come down instead?" He looked at the other with concern. "Improv is simple really. All we do is have one group start- usually drums like me- with a beat or a tune. Then everyone joins in adding or changing things to their hearts content to make something unique. In music it's usually called a jam session, but I call it improv since it's not like we're jamming something specific..."

Honor 03-08-2011 11:54 PM

Olivia felt very embarrassed and she hoped that if there was any mercy in the world that the blush she could feel on her face was somehow not visible. "Yeah..." She said in responsive to his question. Her voice sounded a bit shaky and nervous. She cleared her throat. "Yeah, except that, um, I'm not exactly sure how..." She said referring to her position. She was unable to pull herself back up, and is she got herself down it would mean going down head first.

"That make me think of splatter paint. We just take a paint brush of different colors and fling the paint on a blank sheet. It's a lot of fun." She said to him, attempting to keep the conversation going like she wasn't hanging on to her bed unable to move.

Juneberry 03-09-2011 12:02 AM

"Getting off shouldn't be too hard. I'll be right here to catch ya. Hm... I got an idea. I used to do this when my sister would fall out of bed too. Do you trust me to keep you steady? I'm gonna take your hands and step backward and when I get far enough, I want you to let go of the bed with your legs. I'll use all my strength to pull you toward me so you should be able to land on your feet."

Honor 03-09-2011 12:07 AM

Olivia nodded, and then because she didn't feel like the nod was enough she said, "Yes, I trust you." The words came out strangle, as if she were breathless, which she wasn't, but at the same time she felt a tightening in her chest. "I'm beginning to think that I'm a lot like your little sister." She added with a small laugh.
((Short post is short ^^; ))

Juneberry 03-09-2011 12:16 AM

"Eh. Only in the sense that you fall over the bed like this. I prefer you as a roommate then my sister. Trust me." And then, he tugged slightly, waiting for the moment his friend would fall properly from the bed. When it came, he pulled quickly so that instead of falling on his face, Oliver was pulled by force towards Sayaku, who was able to lift him enough to put him on his feet. "That's better, ain't it?"

((S'okay. Sorry I didn't give you time to respond to the pull. I didn't want my post to be so lame that it was like a sentence ><))

Honor 03-09-2011 12:24 AM

((It's okay :) ))

Olivia felt his hands tug her down and part of her wanted to resist, telling her she had only known his two days and there was no way he could be trusted. Yet, she wanted to trust, and she did trust, so as he pulled her down she did not resist. In fact, she felt very much like rag doll in his hands, unable to anything but what she was directed to do.

Then she started to fall and she felt his hands tug her again, upward this time, and then it was over and she was staring up at him with a doe-eyed expression on her face. When she realized this she blinked and looked away. What had he asked her? Oh, yes, now she remembered. "Yeah, a lot." She gave him a grateful smile.

Juneberry 03-09-2011 12:29 AM

He chuckled a bit, ruffling the other boy's hair in a playful manner. "Good. It's better not to get stuck up there like that. Be careful not to let it happen again kay? I don't want to find out it happened again if I'm not here..." He smiled, adding, "Though in a way it's hopefully just that I jinxed you to have it happen. If that's the case I'm most definitely sorry."

Honor 03-09-2011 12:36 AM

Olivia laughed. "I'll definitely try. If you hear a loud thump in the middle of the night you know what happened." She joked playfully as he ruffled her hair. It was a nice feeling, his hand in her hair, it calmed her heart rate. She smiled at his comment about jinxes. With her luck it would happen again.

Suddenly a thought formed in her mind, a way to thank Saya and possibly take his mind off her embarrassing exploit. "Could I paint you? Ah, your portrait that is." She said a little nervously. She hadn't painted anyone outside her family or models in her art classes. Most of the faces she made up in her head.

Juneberry 03-09-2011 12:42 AM

"Sure. If you want to." He simply shrugged in response, not really phased about the idea either way. "Any way you want me to sit for it? Oh and good thing you didn't mean using me as an easel. While I don't mind getting dirty, I'd really rather not be full of paint when I go shower next time. It'd make the water look weird."

He laughed a bit, moving to sit on his bed again. He looked at Oliver curiously still, scratching his cheek for no noticeable reason. "I don't know what would be interesting about me to paint though."

Honor 03-09-2011 12:52 AM

Olivia laughed. "You sure? I think it would make the water look like a rainbow. It would be an interesting shower if nothing else." She grinned at him. As for how he should sit... she closed her eyes and thought for a moment. A smile slowly spread across her lips. It doesn't matter what you do, just keep you eyes open." She told him.

"There are plenty of interesting things about you to paint. There always is, on everyone, as long as the painter looks close enough to spot it." She said, pulling out her art supplies. She set up a stand and canvas and got her paints out. "Are you ready?" she asked.

Juneberry 03-09-2011 12:53 AM

"Sure. Sound's fine to me." He nodded, taking a relaxed position by crossing his legs on the bed and putting his arms out so that he could hold his feet easily, looking at his friend easily. "Ready when you are."

((Sorry this post is lame :c))

Honor 03-09-2011 01:06 AM

Olivia stared at his face for a long moment before she even touched the paints. It didn't feel intrusive or uncomfortable to her, no she was a painter now and he was her art project. It was as natural as breathing to find every curve and line on his and to memorize it. And as she painted she found that his face was burned to the back of her eyelids.

She used a lot of grey, but a wide variety of shades. Then there was blue. It took her time to find the exact shade she wanted but when she did it fit perfectly, melting the painting together in a strange mystic sort of way. When she was finished she closed her eyes for a long moment, still seeing his face. The she turned to his and said with a smile. "It's done. It still needs to dry, but it's done."

The painting was a close up of Sayaku's face done in greys that seemed to blur as it left the focal point. That focal point was his eyes, colored in his exact shade of blue, but also littered about with electric blue lines that looked like lightning. This was how she saw his eyes, and how they made her feel when her eyes met his. This painting was her only way to express the attraction the gnawed at her. She prayed he couldn't see through it.

Juneberry 03-09-2011 01:18 AM

Sayaku took a look at it quickly, staring closely at it to get a look at her work. "Woah- I really like this one! And usually I hate pictures of me." Chuckling, he smiled to Oliver. "I never noticed that I had those specks of lighter blue in my eyes. Good to know. It's funny. They look like electricity...But I love water and it doesn't cause an electric shock. Good thing not all things look like what they really are." He smiled to his friend. "Thanks for letting me be a model for one of your pieces, Olive."

Honor 03-09-2011 01:24 AM

She almost wanted to tell him about the meaning of those electric blue lines but she remained silent on the subject, at least that part of it. "I like your eyes. They're very captivating." She said in a soft voice, like she was conflicted if she wanted him to hear those words or not.

She quickly looked away from him and back to the painting. "Thank you, I'm glad you like it. Once it drys it's yours to do with as you please. We can even hang it in the room somewhere if you want. That is if you don't mind being stared at by yourself all the time." She flashed him a grin.

Juneberry 03-09-2011 05:20 PM

"Isn't that what happens when I look at the mirror in the bathroom anyway?" Sayaku chuckled, taking a seat on his bed once more, picking up his guitar soon afterward. "I may send it back home actually, afterwards. I bet even my sister would enjoy seeing your work." A grin was clear on his face as he began to strum one chord over and over. "Sis prefers visual things over sounds after all. So she'd like it."

Honor 03-09-2011 06:34 PM

Olivia laughed. "True." She agreed and went to sit beside him on his bed. "I bet she'd like that, having a painting of her older brother. I'll admit I'm a little envious of her. I always wanted an older brother." She said smiling. She did not give her reasons for this want, as she assumed that Saya would think she wanted an older brother to pal around with and to feel like 'one of the guys' with. Her real reason, however, was because she had wanted to feel safe. And while she could feel safe with her older sisters, mother and father there was something about the protection of a brother that was different.

Juneberry 03-09-2011 08:33 PM

"My sister would just like the way you did it, honestly. Whether it was of me or a tree, she'd be happy. Actually she'd really like the tree idea. My sister's a plant fanatic. Our house always smells nasty with all sorts of plants at once that really don't mix well together aromatically... I don't know how she stands all of those scents at once."

Sayaku chuckled, adding, "I never really worried about having an older sibling. I never worried about having a younger sibling either, even when I barely knew my sister. But I grew up in a place where everyone was like a sibling so I shouldn't really speak much, huh?"

Honor 03-09-2011 09:42 PM

Olive grinned. "I know what you mean. My sister closest to me in age, Faith, uses a rather wide variety of perfumes." She wrinkled her nose remembering the smells all together. "Walking into her room is deadly." She leaned back onto Saya's bed, her eyes falling on the silhouette of his back. She could see one single stray hair sticking unnaturally off his head from her new perspective. She resisted the urge to smooth it down and instead closed her eyes, breathing in her surroundings.

"I've always had my rather large family. It's hard for me to imagine otherwise... but it's also hard to see my town as a family. There really wasn't much of a sense of community there. There was a sense of pride though, they were very, very proud people." She smiled to herself, eyes still closed, remembering the crazy lengths people would go to to prevent anything from tarnishing their names. She had seen crazy things.

Juneberry 03-09-2011 09:59 PM

"That's where we're opposite. I'm used to a small family in a familiar town, you're used to a big family in a distant town. My sister's in the middle that way. She's used to a small family in a distant town. She grew up in a big city, separate from me, due to her health." Sayaku laughed. "I guess I'm the lucky one between us two. But I think we're all lucky in some way or another. Whether you have a big family, a small family or wherever you live...Having just a few people to trust is better then none, isn't it?"

Honor 03-09-2011 10:09 PM

He spoke of trust and Olivia recalled her words to her earlier. He had asked her is she trusted him to catch her, and she had told him yes. Those words were on her lips now. "Do you trust me?" She wanted to ask, but she remained silent choosing to open her eyes and stare at his back instead. It would be ironic if he did, considering she was lying to him right now. How would he react if he discovered it wasn't his friend Oliver laying here on his bed, but the girl Olivia? She let out a shaky but silent breath. She had been lying for two days and already her conscious bothered her. "Trust is important." She said finally, "And with us coming from such different backgrounds it seems we could teach each other a lot about it."

Juneberry 03-09-2011 10:17 PM

"That's true, trust is important. But it's hard to trust people sometimes, ain't it?" Sayaku smiled to his friend simply, looking at him now so that he was twisted awkwardly, one hand behind his back the other on the edge of the bed so that he was twisted at the hips. "I suppose it's possible to teach about it, but isn't it better to learn on our own to trust people? I don't know how you really can teach it."

Honor 03-09-2011 10:25 PM

"By example? Or simply being the one they trust." She suggested looking him in the eyes. Such beautiful eyes he had and it seemed every time she looked at them she was reminded of that fact over and over again. The lighting in the room was slightly darker, as result of the darkening sky outside, and it made sharp contrasts across his face, showing off every nook and cranny. She told herself she was noticing this because she was an artist and that was what artist did, but she wasn't sure how much of that was true.

Juneberry 03-09-2011 10:33 PM

Sayaku looked at him blankly. "Not sure if that teaches or not, but it does make sense in general." He smiled, though he started to study the boy's face. He as noticing small things on his friend's face as well. "You know, in this lighting it's easier to see what the others meant this morning. Your face is a tad more feminine in terms of the physical image of a girl. No offense meant, of course."

Honor 03-09-2011 10:41 PM

Pleasure swam throw her system for a moment and she felt her cheeks heat up. So he had noticed, only the slightest bit, but he had noticed. To her pride this was good. To her disguise this was bad. Yet despite the double edge of his comment she felt nothing but happiness. She struggled to keep her face nonchalant. It would not do to grin when 'he' had just been referred to as feminine.

She shrugged in an attempt at seeming unconcerned. "None taken. I get that a lot actually." She almost wanted to mention how his face seemed completely unfeminine to her, but decided it would be best to keep her mouth shut.

Juneberry 03-09-2011 11:41 PM

"I want your opinion on me too," Sayaku noted with a chuckle. "I get told I'm sorta girl-like a lot for some reason too. Not quite as much as you may, since you say it's a lot and after today I can see that as being the case. But... A lot of people say I like a bit feminine as well. Particularly my face apparently... Must be 'cause I have bigger eyes. What do you think?

Honor 03-10-2011 12:53 PM

"No." She said imediantly, without thinking, and then paused. "I mean, it's posibble if you look at each individual part of your face seprately. But when put together it is distinctly male." She said, then sat up to get a better look. She reached out her hand and ran it gently along his jaw line, feeling it's shape. "Your jaw is too firm to be.." She trailed off realizing what she was doing and took her hand away. "Oh, sorry, old habit. When I try to firgure out how to draw some things touching them helps." She laughed a little, embarrassed, her face coloring. How many times had she blushed tonight. "But your eyes are... well in my opinion the best feature on your face.

Juneberry 03-10-2011 06:07 PM

Sayaku chuckled. "Well, glad you don't think my eyes are strange. Most people do- though that's also because it's fairly uncommon to have blue eyes when you have brown hair. My sister got mom's eyes and i got neither. It's sort of funny that way." He smiled a bit, thinking about it. "Dad had brown eyes- well, they were rather red actually. Mom had green. I guess somehow I got to be unique in the family."

Looking at his friend, he smiled a bit again. "It's not a problem. We all have habits that aren't always common. And as an artist, the one you have makes complete sense. I know for me, I tend to tap my foot to some sort of beat whether there's music around or not. It just always keeps me going somehow."

Honor 03-10-2011 06:50 PM

Olivia grinned. "Unique is good. I'm the only blonde in my imediant family. I inherited it from my grammy-er grandmother." She corrected herself. Grammy was common way to refer to ones grandmother were she was from.

She laughed at his comment. "At least your habit doesn't involve randomly touching people faces... or arms, hands, or feet... st people don't appreciate their personal space being invaded by a random g-" Her mouth moved as if to say girl but she caught herself just in time. "-uy"

Juneberry 03-10-2011 06:54 PM

"I suppose they wouldn't, most of 'em. Guys don't want to be touched by other guys or girls without reason, and I suppose girls wouldn't want it either really. It must be a difficult habit to work with, but still, people should understand if they get to know you long enough that it's just a habit. It's not easy to control such things, now is it?"

Honor 03-10-2011 07:02 PM

She grinned. "I do try a bit harder when I'm in public, but when I'm relaxed with someone like this... well it's just a bit more difficult is all." She said, remembering all the times she had randomly grabbed her friends without giving it a second thought. They, fortunately, were used to it.

"Mostly I just grab hands anymore. They're my weakness with drawing. I'm trying to improve on that." Her eyes looked down at his hands for a fraction of a second, as if she wanted to take them, but she didn't move. She had touched him enough for one day, and while none of it seemed to bother him she wasn't sure she should be so at ease with it. She had good self control and she doubted she would do anything to out the fact that she was a girl, but attraction was a powerful thing and not to be trifled with.

Juneberry 03-10-2011 07:14 PM

"Ever since I was small I was looked at as strange, particularly by the farm animals, because I'd be tapping my foot to a beat even while working. Actually I think the chickens got nervous when I did that, but I couldn't help it." A chuckle escaped him as he listened more carefully to what Oliver said. "Hands, huh? Well, I think girls like holding hands so you shouldn't have problem with having a girlfriend in that case."

He chuckled a bit more. Somehow, he wasn't sure what it would be like for Oliver to have a girlfriend- he seemed more comfortable with guys much like Sayaku was. Ruffling the boy's hair, Sayaku grinned. "I feel like writing a song for some reason. Wanna help?"

Honor 03-10-2011 07:23 PM

Olivia nearly chocked on her laugh when he mentioned her getting a girlfriend. She smiled for a moment as if it were the most hilarious thing in the world, but then she wiped it off her face realizing he might think that was strange. "Ah, I'm not so into the girlfriend thing... it's not that I have trouble talking to them or anything, quite on the contrary, but I see them more as friends I guess. Ah..." She bit her lip gently, realizing she digging herself into a bigger hole the more she talked. "I guess I... just haven't met one I'm interested in." She said finally, it was truth. It was also the truth that she never would meet a girl she was interested in.

She grinned. "I'd love to help." But now her mind was wondering. "What about you? Thinking about getting a girlfriend any time soon?" She asked him. A sharp twinge poked at her stomach, but she beat it back. Just because she was his roommate gave her no right to feel possessive of him at all.

Juneberry 03-10-2011 08:36 PM

"Not really. Unless I find a girl that somehow doesn't make me uneasy, which is difficult, it'll be a while before I can even look at girls that way. But that's fine with me. I have some friends that are girls since the incidents, and I have my sister, but I'm not really worried about dating. It tends to be a bit problematic for me anyway, since I go back and forth a lot between visiting my parents, my sister and working on my music." He chuckled a bit before shaking it off.

"I have a tune in mind. I'd like to play it for you, and you can tell me what it makes you think about. I think I can make words for it if you tell me how it makes you feel with just the music alone. Care to take on that task?" Before he could answer, of course, Sayaku already took his guitar into his hands and began to strum delicate chords that flowed easily, taking drastic turns once in a while from upbeat to slightly solemn, but never in a way that seemed out of sorts. When he was done, he played an ending chord and stared at his friend. "Ideas?"

Honor 03-10-2011 09:20 PM

Olivia watched as he went to his guitar and listened as he played. Like before she could feel the music flow through her. It was magical, filling her with it's rhythm. Her mouth hung open slightly and her eyes did not leave him. The music was sweet and happy. When he finished Olivia found it hard to speak for a moment.

"I-It was beautiful." She said after moment. "It makes me think of sunshine and lemonade and..." She hesitated before saying the rest, as if speaking the words might ruin the mood the music had created. "And love, and hope, and wanting to be loved." She bit her lip gently again, a nervous habit.
