Kali laughed softly, "I don't think that would help much, no." She looked around, pondering. "I'm guessing he wasn't expecting it to get this troublesome. I kind of feel bad."

Jasmine nodded. "Me too. I suppose we'll just have to be extra amazing guests." She told the other girl with a smile.

Zac sighed as he entered his house. "Damn drunks." He said as he saw Jasmine and Kali. "Ok you five the cab is here." He said waving them to the door. "Give this to the driver." He said handing a piece of paper to one of the people. He sighed again, "Again I am so sorry, my guests are usually good, I have no idea what got into them." He said rubbing his temples. "Excuse me I need a drink." He said as he went to the dining room.

Kali chuckled slightly, "Really it's okay. I don't mind at all. It'll be something to remember." She frowned slightly as he left, "A very interesting party indeed."

"Don't worry about it." Jasmine said with a smile, then turned to Kali when he left the room. "Truly, though what's a party without an interesting story, eh?"

She nodded, "Indeed..well..now I'm getting that 'we're the last two two leave' awkwardness. You know?" She shrugged, using her hand to move some hair from her face, "I don't know how to describe it."

Zac came out of the dinning room with a glass of whiskey and coke. "You two feel free to drink, as long as you don't break anything." He said as he took a drink. "There is still some food in there if your hungry." He said pointing to the dinning room.
"Well Zac I think I am going to head home I have work in the morning." A man said walking up to Zac. "Oh Reg, if you had work you didn't have to come." Zac said apologetically. "Oh no its fine, I'm just glad I didn't miss Fred going through your window like last time." Reg said with a chuckle. "Ouch harsh." Zac said with a smile as he shook Reg's hand. "Well then there was five." He said with a smile as he went to the piano to start playing. |
"Yeah, I get the same feeling but... I don't really feel like leaving yet." She said looking around at the now very few party goers.
She grinned at Zac's invitation to drink, figuring one drink wouldn't hurt anything. "Don't mind if I do." She said with a smile, getting herself a glass of whiskey. "You want something?" She asked Kali. |
Kali shrugged, "I really shouldn't..I have to take my accuplacer in the morning. I mean, not to sound like...like a nerd or anything. I just..ah what the hell!" She came over, peering around, "Ah ha! Good ol' vodka." She grabbed the bottle, taking a swig about the same volume of a shot.

Jasmine let out a squeal of delight at Kali's action. She had been just about to compliment her on her responsibility, but found this was far more enjoyable. She took a large drink from her glass. "Now, it is a party." She told the girl with a large grin, taking another drink.

Zac sat down and started playing Grand Concerto in D major. "Just don't go and getting drunk on me." Zac said with a little chuckle. He took another drink as he played with one hand. "Usually I have more of an audience for this." Zac said to himself.

Kali chuckled slightly, listening to him and nodding her head to the music, "You're very skilled, Zac. Do you play all sorts of instruments?"

Jasmine closed her eyes, sipping her drink and listening to the music.

"Ya I do actually, I have a lot of time on my hands." Zac said with a smile. "I also like to paint, draw, and sometimes I sculpt." He said looking over to Kali. "What do you like to do? Also what are you gonna go to school for?" He asked while still playing the piano.

Kali nodded, "I see. Me? Uh..nothing special here. I'm just average." She shrugged a bit, "I like to paint and draw in my free time, but it's just a bored hobby, nothing special." In fact, it wasn't. It was more her life, but she didn't want to weird the two out with that fact. "I haven't really decided yet. I was thinking graphic designer or something like that." She shrugged again.

"That sound interesting." Zac said as he closed his eyes. "Maybe you can paint something for me sometime." He said with his eyes still closed. "Ah I know," He said as he got up from the piano. "I have just the thing for you." He said as he ran up the stairs. He ran to his closet and grabbed out one of his paintings. He walked down the stairs this time, so he wouldn't trip and break the painting. "Here you go." Zac said with a smile. "It's one of my own creations." He said still smiling. "You can have it." Zac said handing the painting to Kali.

Kali took the painting tenderly, staring at it with total awe. She turned it so Jasmine could see, "I can't believe you painted this! This it just...stunning! I..I can't accept this. It's..far too great for you to just give it away to a stranger. I..I'm sorry." Yet she didn't quite hand it back yet. She was still taking in all the details of the marvelous piece.

Jasmine's eyes wondered along the painting, taking in it's beauty. She had always been interested in music than art, but it was hard not to see that a master hand had painted it. "My, my," She said with a small laugh. "You certainly are accomplished at many things. Next will you tell us that you happen to be a pro athlete and an expert dancer?" She laughed again. "But seriously, you must have quite a lot of time on your hands."

"No, no keep it I have plenty more, plus I have a whole bunch of paintings all over my house and in my vault." Zac said not trying to be all rich boy. "Sorry I didn't mean for that to sound stuck up." He said turning his attention to Jasmine. "Haha no I'm neither of those things." He said with a smile. "Ya with all of my stuff I really don't need to work." He said as he thought of something. "I have a gift for you as well Jasmine." He said as he held up his finger. He went to one of the bookcases and opened it. He reached in and grabbed a case out of the hidden closet. He opened it up. "Ah yes this will do nicely." He said with a smile. He walked up to Jasmine and handed her the violin case. "It is a Eastman Master Series: model 906 it is valued at about $2,500. I want you to have it." Zac said with a smile

Jasmines mouth gaped open in utter surprise as she took the violin. It took her a moment to find the good graces to close it. "This... I couldn't possibly..." She let out a breath staring at it in appreciation. "You..." She stared at him in astonishment. "You are far too generous." She could barely find the words to say.

Kali was truly at a loss for words, "I...T-thank you." She continued to stare at the painting, really hesitant to accept it. She had become quite the skilled scenery artist, but now she felt like she was just put to shame by the sheer skill in this painting. She almost wanted to hyperventilate...but could not embarrass herself like that...but in the cruel world they lived in, some other force had a weird way of making her do that.
Kali suddenly, but carefully, put the painting down, her eyes frittering about as her hands quickly tore through her pockets. Her breathing became more labored as her asthma decided to be a bitch and act up. She prayed that Zac would not think it was from the painting, as it was not. It was not uncommon for her to have a random attack at just the wrong moment. And of course, she left her inhaler at home. Of course. She glanced around for the nearest couch, helping herself to it. She lay back to give her as much room in her lungs as she could while she took the deepest breaths she was aloud. She placed her hand on her head, knowing by now she looked like a fool; the art nerd who needs to carry around a stupid inhaler because of her lame ass lungs. Marvelous. |
"I'm always generous to my friends." Zac said with a smile. "Damn it Amanda don't drink all of my blood." He said with a slight glare upstairs.
"Sorry." Amanda said as she made her way down the stairs. "Where is everyone?" She asked. "I sent the drunks home." He said felling like she drank all of his blood. "Well then I guess I better go them myself." She said grabbing her purse and heading to the door. "Bye Amanda." He said with a wave. "Kali are you alright?" Zac asked concerned. "You must have asthma." He said rushing over to her. He sat down on the couch, "Excuse my hand." He said putting his hand on her chest. He concentrated, he made her lungs open up so she would stop hyperventilating. "There that should be better, how do you feel?" Zac asked as he quickly removed his hand from her chest. His eye's were a light pink but they were hidden behind his dark blue contacts. "Anyway." He said as he cleared his throat. He looked at his study, "I should probably shut that." He said as he got up and walked to the bookcase and shutting it. A growl came from his throat when he saw the window. His eyes turned red but you couldn't see them behind his dark blue contacts. "How about I make you guy's something to eat. Something that is fresh, and it could be anything I have a masters in Culinary Arts." He said with a smile. |
Jasmine watched with concern as Kali stared hyperventilating. She had no idea what to do, and was glad that Zac acted. She wasn't quite sure what he was doing to help her, but she felt that it would work.
She laughed at his offer to cook. "Of course you do." She said with a smile. It seemed he was a master at almost everything. "Hmm... we're going to have to test his abilities with this one, aren't we Kali?" She teased him. "Do you know of any particularly hard dishes?" She asked. |
Kali was surprised to suddenly find Zac's hand over her lungs, but she didn't contest it if it was going to help her without her inhaler. She could feel her bronchial tubes dilating suddenly, instantly. What the.. Something about Zac suddenly seemed off. With him being close, she thought she noticed something about his face, but brushed it off.
She remained on the couch as he came back, lowering her head, "I'm sorry. You're painting didn't set off my asthma..it has a habit of sneaking up on me after being nervous...probably from earlier when I had arrived. Talk about a delayed reaction." She smiled weakly, pondering a dish, "I don't know what would be difficult. I used to waitress at a restaurant before the Cafe and the Salmon meals were never any good. I would love to taste a decently cooked Salmon." |
"Its ok Kali, I had a friend who had asthma. He would have an attack when he was just sitting and talking. So I understand." Zac said with a smile. He sat there while they talked, "Salmon? Ah I haven't made that in twen... two years. Your lucky I have some fresh salmon." He said as he got up an went to the kitchen. He grabbed the salmon out of the refrigerator, he put it on the counter. "Do you like skin on or off?" He asked as he started preheating the oven. "Oh excuse me I have to go check on something quick." He said as he ran up the stairs. He went into his study, he opened up the little refrigerator. "Damn it Amanda, I knew you drank all of my blood." He said as he closed the refrigerator. He left the study and made sure all of the doors were locked. He went back down the stairs, "Feel free to look around my house, just as long as you don't break anything." Zac said with a smile as he went into the kitchen.

"Oh yum, I love salmon!" Jasmine said with a grin. "Fabulous choice." She told Kali. She gave Zac an odd look when he slipped up in his speech. It had sounded like he was going to say twenty, but that couldn't be right, since he didn't seem to be any older than that from her perspective. She must have heard wrong.

"I usually don't get an attack that severe so quickly. It usually takes a few minutes, but I can breathe, so it's all good." Kali glanced to Jasmine at his mishap, wondering if she noticed. It was slight, but the two of them definitely noticed it. She was a bit nervous to mention it. Zac would have impeccable hearing, due to his inclination towards music. She gave the girl a questioning expression instead, knowing he couldn't hear that. Right? She flinched when he said they were welcome to explore. She quickly pulled that thought and threw it away. She was very nosy, and would end up stumbling upon something he did not want her to see, most likely. So she kept her feet planted and her butt on the couch. Stay..good.

Zac knew that they heard his mess up, he was in their brains. "Damn it Zac." He said scolding himself. He put the Salmon into the oven, he smelled around to make sure no one was gonna try and get in through the window. "I will be right back you two, I need to get something to cover the window." He said as he wiped his hands on a towel. "Oh By the way there is a TV above the fireplace and the remote is on the coffee table." Zac said as he went out the back door.

Jasmine caught Kali's look and returned it. So the other girl had noticed also. At least that meant she wasn't hearing things. "Oh, I love exploring!" She said happily, then looked toward Kali. "Come with me? Or would you prefer to watch tv?"

Kali tensed, hearing the invitation again. She could just picture it..finding herself facing Zac at some horrible discovery. She shuddered, but nonetheless, she couldn't pass it up. After all, how much trouble could she wander into with Jasmine keeping her on the straight and narrow? Right? Yeah. Harmless.
With a nod, she stood, "But of course! I love sno-exploring." She smiled innocently. "I think we should start upstairs. There's something up there, I just know it. He was heading up there every 10 minutes or so." She couldn't help but get a devious smile on her face. |
"They better not try to get into my study." Zac said as he unlocked his shed. "I am glad I kept these boards." He said as he grabbed them and a drill, he headed to the front of the house. He drilled one of the corners in the window sill, he did all four corners and one in between screws. He grabbed the second board and went inside.

Jasmine's expression turned surprised, then extremely pleased. It seemed this girl had a sense of adventure. She liked it. After all, what was fun about snooping around unless you had someone to snoop with?
"Kali, darling, I do enjoy the way you think." She said with a devious little smirk. "C'mon." She said, holding out her hand to help the girl form the couch, figuring she still might be weak from her attack. |
Kali took her hand and with Jasmine's help was to her feet in seconds, "Why thank you. Now come on, before he changes his mind." She gave a wink, gripping Jas's hand and hauling her up the stairs, peering around for a room that looked suspicious.

Jasmine let Kali pull her up stairs, giggling a bit. Another giggle? She was acting so strangely tonight. She figured that one was because of the alcohol, however little she had drunken. Jasmine looked around, trying to find something interesting. She found a room that appeared to be a study. She pointed to it. "What about there?"

Kali whirled around with a grin, "Well that looks promising~" She snuck up to the door, trying the knob. She quickly frowned, looking to Jasmine, "It's locked. There's definitely something in there. Got a hair pin?"

Locked? Jasmine felt a pang of guilt. They really shouldn't be such snoops. This was Zac's home, and he had been so nice to them. Yet curiosity gnawed at her bones. So, skillfully she pulled a strange pin looking object from her shoe. "I've got one better. An actual lock pick." She handed her the object.

"She wouldn't dare." Zac said as he saw Kali. He teleported into the study, he blocked out the sound. He quickly grabbed all of the bottles of animal blood from the refrigerator, and he made sure that there was no empty bottles around. He teleported behind his house holding the full trash can. "Whew that was close."He said throwing the trash can into the shed and locking the door."

Kali almost squealed, "You're so sneaky~" She gingerly took the pick from the girl, pausing a moment. She felt..bad for doing this, but she couldn't help herself. It was Zac's fault anyway. If he really didn't want them going around finding this and that, then he would've told them to stay the hell downstairs. She nodded. Sound reasoning.
She carefully inserted the pick into the lock, cautiously twisting it around in there. She had picked the locks of many various objects hundreds of times; cars, doors, cheap safes, even a cash register out of boredom at work. She nearly got fired for that stunt, once she was proven innocent of theft, she only received a very extended suspension. "This one's complex. Too bad my kit is out in the car..I definitely don't want to get it." Suddenly, she heard the tell tale click of the door unlocked. "Marvelous~ After you~" She stepped back, handing Jasmine her lock pick back with a wink. "And I wonder why my mother worries about me." She chuckled quietly, nearly jumping in place from excitement. |
Jasmine laughed. "I always carry that with me. You never know when you'll need it." She took the lock pick back when Kali was done with it. "I thought about getting a kit, but I prefer being able to carry my stuff with me."
Jasmine stepped inside, looking around. Disappointingly it looked like any other study to her, though much fancier. Then she saw the fridge. "Oh, what is this." She said with a smile. |
Kali weaseled in behind Jasmine, the thrill of the snooping wearing off quickly until. "Oh! Looks..suspicious. Maybe this is where he keeps the good liquor." She winked, heading over and opening the fridge to find it empty, "Aw well that's lame..wait.." She opened the door wider to get a better view at the red spot on the little shelf. "What's this? And..do you notice that..smell?" She took a few short sniffs of the air. Something was off.
