She's six or seven years old, she isn't that old. She was also quite healthy. We got her weight down by dieting and took her for lots of walks. She's a golden retriever. But she's like mixed with the bigger golden and the smaller. We got her to 90 pounds, which is a lot better than she was. |
And we played with her. Also of course we slipped her a treat here and there because she was a good girl. She never peed in the house or even threw up in the house. She would run to the door and whimper to be let out if she was going to be sick or had to pee or poo. She could sit, give you her paw and if you said other paw she would give you the other. She laid down, stood up and would stay. She was a good dog, very friendly. |
Oh ok... but indeed, she's about half the age as when tumors normally starts appearing, youch...
And that's great to know that you at least did everything to make her life happy, though I hope for you your other dog won't miss her too much... |
That's why I don't understand why she got them. She wasn't depressed, she was always rolling around making odd noises and being insane ( but cute ). And she even played with my cats and always received attention, went for walks and was at a healthy weight and idk... it doesn't make sense to me. I assume that a tumour just happened. Maybe she does have more. One happened, it went untreated and then more appeared.... we missed it. But she didn't show any signs of being in pain or being sick. |
Ya well, like you said tumors just happen, no matter the dog, it happened to one of my godfather's dog, and she was the healthiest of the two dogs he had, they were actually expecting their other dog to pass away far before her (and it's been about 2 years and the other one is still fine, go figure.. She's blind and deaf, but still fine...).
And yes well, that's just like with humans... The first tumors don't appear and offenly you don't even notice it, until they get bigger or in a place that start hurting... |
Yeah exactly, we're going to get all of our animals checked out soon. If we can prevent any of them from passing before their time then we will. I'm hoping we get a new dog, eventually. I don't want to 'replace', Mila. I want a new big dog... and I feel bad for my little dog. He needs a friend. |
Hmmm ya, they offenly get lonely when the other one pass away, especially if they've been together for some time... My godfather actually had to go get another dog because his oldest one stopped eating and was always hidding, plus she got sick a lot... After they got the other one though, she started eating again and moving a bit more, so it was really worth it.
|
Yeah, my big dog stopped eating and it made my little one not want to eat. Before we knew it was a tumour I got really scared and thought he had gotten whatever she had. |
Oh gosh ya... Good thing it isn't, the little one was just doing like the big one I guess...
|
He will eat if he sees her eat. Also... if they're outside at the same time and she pees. He will wait then pee after she does. He's odd. But at least he won't stop peeing... haha. But yeah, he needs a friend. If we got another small dog ( which wouldn't be that bad ) I would LOVE a weiner dog. |
Lol! Well, the youngest dog of my uncle is doing the same, she'll actually wait for the other dog (their oldest who's now blind) to come join her before going anywhere outside ^^;
And ohhh, a teckel! I love those dog, they're so cute and always look like they're sad xD I had one once upon a time, but my mother realised she was allergic to their skin or whatnot back then so we had to give him away to my uncle about a week after I got him for my birthday... |
Awh, at least he got a home though, right? I want one so bad. That's the only small dog that I love. And pugs. They're so ugly that they're cute. But I really want a big dog... like a beautiful dog. |
Yup, my uncle (not my godfather, aka not the same uncle lol) already had his little brother so it was fine ^^
Lol, ya, they're really cute ^^ Personally I'm more into big dogs though, like a husky ^^ |
Yeah, I would love a Husky but I heard that they're hard to train. I think that if we get another dog or even a kitten, we are going to adopt from a shelter. There's an increasing problem with homeless animals in Quebec currently. |
Oh really? So I take it you'll go to the SPCA for one then?
|
Yeah, exactly. All of our pets are adopted. My big dog, Mila, was rescued technically. The family who had her was neglecting her because they recently had a baby. They would lock her in their basement and she became so depressed that she began to chew at the walls and what not for attention. We took her, she was healthy ( besides being overweight because they would just leave a open bag of dog food out for her ) and had all her shots and was spaded. They wanted to put her in a shelter. I thought they were insane. |
My little dog, Sisco, was also rescued technically. The woman who owned him was dying of brain cancer and could no longer care for her animals. Oscar, my really fat cat, was a stray. He was found trying to get in to a grocery store. And my older cat, Lucky, was found in a couch that was going to be thrown out. |
Oh gosh...good thing you took her then ^^
I hope you'll find a good one next time you go to the SPCA ^^ And wow, they were lucky they got you and your family then! |
Yeah. I want to get a dog that is good.... I don't want to end up with one that misbehaves and is violent, y'know? Difficult to handle. If we got a kitten I would love to get a fluffy one then name it Chewbacca. |
But then again I want to get another dog so that my only dog isn't lonely anymore. It would be unfair to him to get another cat. |
Hmmm ya, indeed... I wish you the best of luck in finding a dog that behave correctly and doesn't scare your little one ^^ ...and doesn't try to eat the cats ^^;
|
We will probably try to get a puppy. My cats will probably not like him/her ( preferably her ) at first. My older cat didn't like Mila when we first got her. Then they started to cuddle and play together. Then we got my other cat, Mila liked him but he didn't like her haha, and my cat disliked him. But now they're OK. And then we got my chihuahua and Mila liked him but Lucky and Oscar didn't, but then they ended up liking him. It will just take them time to adjust. |
Lol.
And ya, they'll get used to the new one soon enough ^^ |
Yeah, I hope the dog/puppu will have a cute name. Hopefully they won't mind cats and are friendly. I really want a friendly dog if we get a new one. |
Hmmm, good luck with that! You never know how a dog will react with cats though...
|
Yeah.... so perhaps a puppy would be better. They would grow up with the cats and would become use to them. |
Hmm ya, it probably would be better indeed...
|
I will just hope that if we do bring home a new animal that it will like my current animals. |
Bah, if it's not the case just wait a couple of days and they'll get used to eachother ^^
|
Yeah, exactly! |
Do you know when the token items change? |
Uh, I think they're there fo a while, they will add more items later on but I think they'll keep the ones already in it...
|
Oh! So they never leave? I think that someone told me that they leave every month and we get new ones? |
Uh... I don't know anymore lol, but tokens are quite new, I believe it's the first batch of token items...
The Archaic Antiquities and Event Shop items leave though...but so far the event is still the same, only Archaic changed, so I'm getting quite confused... |
I must be mixing things up, sorry! |
Is there anything else that you're questing other than the horns of corruption?
|
I'm also going after the Divine Horn and the Hallow of Innocence Yearly items! |
Marauder's Flight And Whisper Wings, too. So... pretty much 6/9 of the Yearly items. I might as well get one of each to be honest. |
Ahhhhh I see. Any other items?
|
This month's items! :) I want to get my very first set. ANYWAYS. Must BRB! I need to go to the bathroom then I'm going to help my mom a bit. |
