luka stared. he stared hard, it was the largest wolf he had ever seen, it dwarfed anything he could have imagined from what the journal told. he was certain if he did not think of something fast he would be devoured by this hulking beast. the only thing that came to mind was the hunting lure his brother used to call deer, he struggled to recall the song 'ελάτε κατοικίδιο ζώο έρχεται, με εξυπηρετεί καλά, αγάπη για το μεγάλο πνεύμα' he waited in a cold sweat hoping the beast would be enchanted.

There was a slight pause in both Mizuki and the wolf. Then out of no where Mizuki laughed and laughed hard. When he finaly cought his breath he looked to Luka "A hunting lure...really?" He said in a mocking laughter. Just then the wolf took a step forward. Its huge black paws making the dust stir as it landed. Then it gave a howl. As it howled the air around it began to pick up.

Soon a bright light sorrounded the wolf. When it disapated a female stood in its place. Her hair was long and black with flecks of white. White fur covered Her sides down her lower stomach and the edges of each breast leading up to full lips and bright green eyes. Accompanied by black and white pointed ears as well as a tail that swooshed back and forth. Two clawed feet stood as if rooted to the very ground. Lifting a clawed hand to her chest she spoke "Master...do you not remember me?" She said sadly.

the last thing he saw before he fainted was a single bloom from the tree above his head

Mizuki was right behind him as he fell so that he simply swept his arms under his legs and held him to his chest as he stood. "Um...was he supposed to do that?" She asked dipping her head to the side quizically. Mizuki didnt raise his head as he spoke "I...dont know" He said turthfully.

"Lets take him to a place of rest" Mizuki said and she nodded "Fallow me she said" She then led him through the trees to a cabin like home that rested near a stream. Mizuki didnt realize how long they have walked. They where no longer in the south garden but the south forest that went for miles and miles of nothing but woodland protected by the castle.

"Come on" She said walking up the stairs to the largely built deck and headed for the door. Walking in she motioned to a day bed by the window "I set it up last night" She said and Mizuki looked to her "For me or him?" He asked and she didnt respond. Placing Luka upon the bed Mizuki sat down in the chair beside it. It was going to be a long night.

he woke up slowly and in a haze. he was not sure at first what was going on but a few moments of staring at a rush-thatched ceiling brought him to. he saw a werewolf! a real honest to goodness werewolf. he almost laughed out loud at the thought but it followed on the heels of a sobering one, mizuki tried to bring back the dead luka. he felt ill. he was obviously still here wherever here was, he felt fine. wiggling his toes and fingers he sighed. he was not a soulless doll like what he had read. but at the same time he felt normal, not at all like anyone different. it could not have worked then. he was lost for several seconds before a door to his right opened. he sat up quickly

She walked in and looked at him "Oh your awake!" She said happily before closing the door. "Please reframe your reaction" She said motioning towards a sleeping Mizuki in the chair beside the bed. "its been three days and he hasnt moved" She said "Anyways how are you feeling?" She said taking a step forward.

'three?' he was lost for sure, 'how is it possible three days have passed? he looked at the beast-woman. 'what are you doing in the headmaster's garden? i have been here forwards and back the times i have visited and this is not right. have you bewitched the place or am i charmed?' he attempted a ward breaking over his eyes, nothing changed. i am not a soulless thing and i am not whatever his luka became. you are his minion or his friend, i cannot assume you would tell the truth but at least tell me something'

She looked towards him "So...it didnt work huh" She said almost sadly. "No I am not his minion nor anything else to him simply a friend" She said "Mizuki and I we date back...along long time" She said to him "About....140 years if I remember correctly" She said almost absent mindly. She then gave a shrug "I did at one point in time fallow you" She said "Well the you who we thought you were" She said again

luka did the math, at 104 years ago mizuki would have been maybe 16-18 so he would have been negitive 18-20 years old at the time. 'mizuki is a reincarnated sould too isn't he? the thought that this current mizuki was someone else at some point was disturbing to say the least and brought up interesting questions on how long the two had been body-snatching to begin with. he looked at the she-beast in front of him

"Its not the way you think" Mizuki said opening his eyes looking to Luka with allmost a glare. "You humans all of you think the same way" He said. "Mythical creatures and animals are laughed at and not believed in, yet all of us walk among you day after day" Mizuki said. "Half that school is something other then human" He said. "I will be having my 450th birthday this year" He said Luka waiting to see his reaction. Mizuki had lived a long time.

his shock at the outburst was quickly replaced by shame, the admission was not without merit, he himself was not the standard by any stretch but the difference between what he was and say the woman creature next to him was surely something altogether different. 'are you saying then' he began 'that you age slowly or are you like her' he pointed to the other 'and able to adjust yourself to perceived realities?' he looked about his person for the diary 'i have' he pulled it out, rumpled but sound ' a book claiming you to be but an adolescent no more than a hundred years prior to this one 'he held it up before flinging it carefully into the lap of mizuki 'is it a book of lies? everything else it has said has either been validated or come true.' he stared hard and cold at the man. the female he had no truck against but the male in front of him seemed adamant on his ruin

Mizuki looked down to the book throwen in his lap. "Awww yes" He said to no one "You see dear Luka" Mizuki said picking up the book and holding up "I wrote all three diarys" He stated to him "You cant indulge everything" He stated to him. "Its true that yes 95% of that book is true...but if you had all three you would realize that" Mizuki said to him. "During this time..." He said motioning to the diary "I did appear to be an adolecent" He said "Because I choose it to be that way" Mizuki said "when in all reality I look the same" He said with a little shrug.

"And as for me" She said piping in "Im different from Mizuki" She said with a smile "While he is a weilder who by any stretch of the imagination could live to be a thousand years or older...I am what my people call a Mettas. I change my forum at will and live for about five hundard years at most" She said. "While his magic and life comes from the chrystal Mine comes from the forest around me. If its healthy so am I" She said with a smile.

he put his head in his hands 'so let me understand, there is no luka' he turned to to the female 'and you are a breed who supposedly died out several thousand years ago' head still in his hands he began to laugh 'oh dear goddess above, i am crazy, out of my head for sure, or maybe i am asleep, i dozed off, am i still in my bed reading that book or have i slept in and this is the twisted middle of a particularly bad dream?'

Mizuki gave a sigh. "Its going to be like that huh..." He said standing and walking way. Turning a corner he poked his head around it and looked to luka his braid hanging a little above the floor "Well...are you comming or not?" He asked him. Mizuki watched as slowly but surely Luka stood and fallowed. Mizuki led him to a room at the back of the large place. Openeing the door he revieled a large library. The walls from top to bottem were covered in books of all kinds "These...are knowen as the magical archives" He told luka "Everything is housed here....from the begining of the first scripture to date" He said. Walking over to a shelf he climed a latter and took out a book. Bringing it back down he opened it to a page and gave it to Luka. The page read...

"As of this date the magical council has come to reason that every magical creature not defined as human with magical powers has to hence forth cover or desguise there true from for fear of slaughter"

"In that time...it was a sport to take the life of a magical creature as we were so called" He said. "Thats why many of our people are afraid to show there true face...but im going to change that" Mizuki said to him as he took some steps away "Luka....before he died...him and I started to create a better world" Mizuki said "Then something happened. "She" Came along and took him from me" Mizuki said "I have been searching and searching for him ever since but....time and time again I fail" Mizuki said in a dejective tone.

he followed the other int othe room. the waft of old skin and wood permeated everything, the walls were filled with books of all shapes and sizes. the other walked straight to a shelf with a single row of unnasuming red books and pulled out the farther-most left 'everything is housed here....from the begining of the first scripture to date' he passed over the book. it felt old. the binding cover parchment and ink dated it to at least 900 years ago, cat-gut cows leather lambskin and blood respectively. nothing in his wildest dreams could compare to the feel of it in his hands. reading the proffered passage he frowned. this was unreasonable. the conclave referred to were well documented in the archives of the greater and lesser library and sever members had books in the talking library. no member had a hand like this and even if they had it would have been preposterous to have wrote such a thing. to enforce a mass exodus of a single species would have been nearly impossible to have convinced all breeds and specie to go willingly into hiding? even if it could be done there would be records, documented accounts, public notifications, historical recordings personal diaries, anything.

he looked to the other as he talked. the face he had now was the same sad face from before, it spoke of pain and loss but it held no truck with the evidence provided in this singular tome. 'no' luka said evenly 'even if it was believable, which it is not, even if there was evidence it was so, which barring this book and that woman, there is not, it would be worth nothing to be to give up my very existence for it. i have all to lose and nothing to gain and you could, like you have since i first laid eyes on you, have been lying to me, you are deceitful and vile, you simply cannot be believed.

That was it....Mizuki lost his temper "How dare you!" He stated getting more angry by the second "Every moment of my life every second of time I have spent on this earth I have done so for your kind!" He all but screamed. The room in the air began to chill at an alarming pace. "You think this world is so perfect and so innocent that when the real it is revield you turn your head and ignore the very fact and truth set before your very own eyes!" The last of his words where screamed. As the sound reverberated throughout the room ice began to form on the many shelfs dripping down to points of lavender colored death. "Mizuki calm down!" The wolf girl all but screamed.

But Mizuki was to far gone. His eyes once so pure in color now swirled with white. His ears once round to the touch elongated and came to a point. Nails grew to claws and pale skin turned paler if possible. "I am sick of your iggnorant race" Mizuki said in a very calm and eery tone. "Mizuki!" She said again comming into his veiw "Calm down...you need to calm down!" She said placing her hands on his shoulders looking into his eyes. "Luka...what ever you do dont run...please it will make it worse!" She said over her shoulder. "Just listen...dont move!"

luka saw red, his race? HIS RACE? a people forced to lie about their true power just for to keep themselves safe was no new story to him, this ignorant bastard spills his resentment of what he suspected was only doled out to him and then had the gall to place luka in the same catagory! a small sound like the breaking of glass in a far way room is all that could be heard before the seal on luka's arm broke and all holy hell broke loose

She senced the release of power and cringed. "Oh great" She said before running and charging out a near by window. Changing before she hit the ground she grand and gave a howl "Aaawoooooo" Was heard in the now darkness of the forest. She needed to get to Luna she was the only one that could stop the forbording danger.

Mizuki cracked his neck "If you want it that way so be it" He said before he gave a charge towards Luka grabbing and tackling him around the midsection. Mizuki made no sound as they colided with the hard wooden floor under them.

Meanwhile....

She ran as fast as he paws would carry her. Running and running she made it and skidded to a halt infront of a cave. Changing she screamed into the depths of the darkness "LUNA!!!" A deep rumble was herd from the recesses of the darkness.

the books shook and ripped and the wood underneath splintered, the trees shook and danced and all the galss withing a mile shattered. as they tumbled to the floor luka kneed the other man in the lower chest and pushed from the top of his shoulders to free himself, they both hit the floor. the small anti-votive fell out of luka's pocket and rolled under the bed. luka began to kick ans squirm and pull out of the grip of the other his scarff pulling loose and his shoe being lost in the prosses. with a great tug he came free, he scrabbled under the bed and grabbed the small charm, screaming a song of release he drew out the blood magic inside of it.

Mizuki had the wind knocked out of him as he skidded a little ways along the floor. Watching Luka scramble for something Mizuki simply stood. With a growl and a flick of his wrist the wood in the room began to crack and rumble. Then long slender wooden posts formed and jumped out towards Luka grabbing his ankles and arms in swift movements. One raced out and slid around his mouth before the song was finished. Walking slowly towards Luka Mizuki raised his right hand to his face and gave a smile as his claws grew to large points. He was angry...beyond angry. Figuring the only way to get his love back was to kill Luka and start from the begining. He inched forward and was about to strike when a clawed hand grabbed his "Enough" Was the calm voice that flowed forth. Looking to the side so he could dismember the creature that touched his arm Mizuki was about to growl but it died on his lips.

"...Luna" He said softly before the ice around the room began to crack and fall to the floor. His eyes relaxed and became the color they once were. Standing there holding his arm was a dragonoid. A dragon capable of human form. She stood there. Light grey and slate blue scales covered the top of a tail, down the sides of muscular hips and legs leading to clawed feet. Scaled down either arm and covering the sides of her brests and he stomiach. Everything led to white eyes and silverly slate blue hair that laid atop of two twisted and curled horns. "Hes been through enough wouldnt you say" Luna said looking to Mizuki. All he did was nod before his eyes drifted shut and he passed out. Luna simple caught him and held him. Then...her eyes turned to the young male restrained from the wood.

the wood was spintered badly from both his and the other's magics and dug painfully into his flesh, he felt blood in several spots including his face. he was still angry but this sobered him slightly. his errant magic did not ceace though he was bound but what would have been a killing blow simply put the other to sleep. the dragon, who prolly had saved his life with her timing simply looked at him, she was angry for sure but he could see he would not die by her hands. he did know however left in the splintered and broken embrace of the wood just might, already in the few moments he was there his right arm, the one he reached for the anti-votive with, was crying out in protest at the strange angle it was in and his leg didn't hurt at all which was worrying.

Luna looked to Maya "Please...take him to my home and lay him upon the medical bed" She said to the wolf girl. Maya nodded and walked forward talking Mizuki from her hands and leaving swiftly. Luna then turned to Luka and took a step forward. "I trust you when I do this that when I set you free you will not harm me" She said before taking her claws and slicing at the wood that incased the young man. "Now hold still" She said waving a hand over a nasty cut upon his leg she watched as it healed quickly and without trouble "That seems to be the only major injory" She said sniffing the air "Only 22% of blood gone...not bad"

hearing her words he laughed 'i have no issues with you, though i must admit i've never seen a dragon before, your kind are so rare as to be almost a thing of lore.' he grimanced as she healed his leg, the rush of pain in it's fixing was almost enough for him to want the numbness back. 'we are near no mountains though and are on the wrong continent anyway, how is it you came to be here and in the companey of such a vile man'

Luna looked almost taken back "Are we talking of the same man?" She asked him "The Mizuki I know is calm and colective" She said "The only reason he may seem vile to you is because you do not understand his person" She said to him with a little tilt of her head. "The only time I restaine him is when we come accross you" Luna said to Luka.

"As for me..." Luna said changing the subject "Mizuki found me an inch from death oh about...300 years ago" She said thinking back. "My ruler kicked me out of the tribe for befriending humans" She said to him. "I then was throwen out at a young age. Got cought by a group of bandits" She said in a rather far away tone. "During that time the price for a dragons head was about 200 rupils" She said "For a dragonoid...700" Luna said. "Mizuki came right before they finished the job. Killed them saved me and...I have owed my life to him ever since"

listening to her story he was moved, he put a hand to her shoulder. i am so sorry, your life is nothing i could bear myself. though to answer your question i would have to say no from the sound of it, he has been nothing but secretive and manipulative to me as far as my history with him goes that is his nature' he could not imagine mizuki being the sort to save children any more than he could believe yesterday that he'd be talking with a dragon today

She looked to him with simpathy "Mizuki has his reasons when hes that way and I do not question it" Luna said to him "Being secritive and keeping you from harmfull truth are two different reasons" Luna said to him placing a clawed hand upon his which laid on her shoulder. "Do you know how you were taken from him in the begining?" She asked him. Luna knew that the only way to convince Luka was to tell him the truth. Something which would hurt the man infront of him but it may also shed some light upon a mind clouded with doubt. "Mizuki will not be happy with me...but if it will help the both of you. I will take his anger in stride" Luna said.

'i do not but only because it was not i he keeps referring too, though i suppose who i thought he was referring to was a lie as well' he made a face at the thought of the false diary' i keep being told i am a dead lover but he is looking for someone i simply am not' he looked up at her and hoped she would believe him 'i will listen to your story but only because you look as if it needs to be told not because i have need to hear it' he sighed and squeezed her shoulder lightly 'just know that ok?'

(yeah but i may have to take 20 to go buy a drink, i am mundo thirsty and have no money)

Luna gave a little tilt of her head to the squeeze "I understand that...and I thank you" She said to him. "A long long time ago Mizuki met a young name by the name of Lucus" She said "This young male was a pure shadow in training. Though hidded within him was a power greater then any before seen" Luna said to him "That power one day took control of Lucus causing not only great damage to the young male but damage to everything around or in his way" Luna then looked down for a moment. The tide of memories was washing over her trying to take hold on what ever it could. "After that Lucus's master came to Mater Mizuki and asked him to train the young male. Teach him to harness the energy just as Muziki did his. Mizuki agreed." She said then took a step back watching as Lukas hand fell lifelessly from her shoulder "Lucus and Mizuki grew together...they eventually found love. But something threatened their love. She was called Alexina the dark...a which of dark magic" She said. "She came in search of them for her plan was to take over the country...but with the pure shadows about it was a hard task...taking out the number one and the rest would fall" Luna said to him her gaze traveling up to look upon his face "She found you." Luna said "The two of you recovering from a previous fight was no match for her" She said "You fought...two against one in a heated battle until a well to aimed shot headed for Mizuki" She said painfully "Thats when...you proceeded to save him by sacrificing yourself" With that came a little hiccup of sorrow "She left you to die in his arms Luka" She said painfully "You were taken from him in the most painfully way. That is why he can not let you go. No matter the time he will wait to find you over and over again because you where taken so abruptly." Luna wanted Luka to see the larger picture "Everything Mizuki has done in his life was for you" Luna then looked up to him "On your death bed...you promised him that through time no matter what once you where one you would remain as one. At that you merged your pure white crystal with Mizukis lavender one so you will always be conected" She said.

luka shuddered at the tale. no wonder mizuki was so desperate to use him, if he had a lover die in his arms he too would prolly try anything to get that lover back. he sighed 'but why me? if he has his love in his charm why not just grab some orphan off the street or some sad soul with no more will to live? why does it have to be me? surly looks would not matter and a name wouldn't either. i have read on the pure shadow conclave, on what they do. body-snatching was what they did well, an incompatible host would go crazy from the combination of two or reject the surrogate altogether.

he looked at her and hoped she could be trusted. 'surly someone like you can see what i am, what is wrong with me' he backed away and opened his arms wide 'my people are not unlike yours. though i am human my blood is not as human blood is no matter how many times it is mixed same as your blood will remain dragon's no matter how many times it is mixed' he lowered them again 'only we and the king himself know this secret. it's knowledge is a death warrant and a guarantee that what he is trying to do will not work. if he tries i will die, the same as if he tried on you. i am truly incompatible' he looked away now. 'you cannot tell anyone of this anymore than i can tell anyone of you.' he flinched then 'that man will wake soon if he is able to, my charm has just expired' he looked around for the little anti-votive with his eyes signaling the end of the conversation

Luna gave the young male a very sympathetic look "Luka...weather you are or weather you arent I cant tell just yet" She said to him. Walking over to Luka Luna picked up his hand and placed the anti votive within it. "You may think that at times every things against you" She said softly "But, life is full of mystery" Luna said looking up to him "You may never know what the gods have in store for you. All that you need to remember is that it is never more then you can handle" Luna said with a soft smile.

Luna then smiled "well then. Now that this catastrophe has been adverted" She began "How would you like a dragon seal upon that arm of yours. Guaranteed to last" She said with a friendly smile.

he smiled then, the first in a long time. 'thankyou, it is not what i wanted to hear but it help all the same' he looked at the small curse, it was nothing to him now and the thought of reusing it in the future seemed inappropriate. he gave it back. 'i think i'd like that, and as payment you can have this' he hoped the gesture was not lost. it was not often he conceded to leave a fight unfought.

'though' he asked 'something bothers me' his temporary smile sinking back to a frown 'did he really lie about the book? the other luka's diary i mean' he looked lost.

Luna led Luka to a chair and sat him down as she looked at his arm. Listening to him talk as she began to work on his arm. It wouldnt hurt at all but it would take just a little bit of time on her part. Listening and hearing the question Luna stopped what she was doing at looked at him. "The other lukas diary?" She asked him slightly. Then it hit her "Oh my...well I guess this is my fault" Luna said a little baffeled. "When...Mizuki and Lucus where together. Lucus came to me with an odd request" She said looking down his arm to continue her work.

"He came to me and asked for two of my scales to bare the pages of his book. I could not refuse for I loved him as if he were my own child" She said softly. "I gave them to him...then six others to Mizuki for three he had" She said. "So...a little Mix up has happened"

he looked a little releived. 'so there are four books not three?'

Luna gave a nod of her head "Yes...But now because of you anger Mizuki has all four" She said to him with a little tilt of her head "Which may or may not be a problem for you" And with that slapped his arm "All done!" She said happily. "Pureified charm...that suckers not breaking for awhile" She said happily.

he stretched his fingers experimentally. 'it does not matter if i have it now' he said 'i read most of it and either way it's of no help to me now, the information is useless to anyone but him and even so nothing was in it that could be used' *he shuddered at the though of that one drawing* 'well used for practical means' he paused 'why? is there something wrong with it?'

Thats when Luna kinda looked at him weird "Well...You see" She began "Those two always had a weird way of communicating. But...there was somethings they kept from each other" She said "Why did Lucus come to me alone asking for what he did?" She said "I always wondered that" She said to nothing

'i don't understand' he repled 'what could possibly be in that book that the two did not already share, it was all useless information' he huffed 'is there something odd about the books? there were no spells cast and it looked untampered with'

Luna shrugged her shoulders. "Im dont know without touching it or looking at a scripture...I couldnt tell you" She said "But those two did keep secrets" Was all she said. "Either way...You my dear should head back to the caslte." Luna said with a little of a sad smile.

'yes of course' he said. he was sad to leave her, this rare and unfortunate soul, but she was right, he had no need to be here and he was certain to be missed


(gahh! my ride didn't pick up and i need to go to work tonight!)

Luna walked with him to the edge of the forest in silence until they reached the garden. "This is where we part ways for now Luka" She said softly "Though I will be watching" She said softly "Take this" Thats when she handed Luka a little what seemed to be a flute on a large string tied for a necklace "If that ever happens again blow this and no matter what I will be there" She said "Or if your in trouble or hurt or need to talk...I will be there" With that she gave him a hug then left into the darkness of the trees around them. The sun was setting and the sky was orange and red in color and a few of the first stars began to appear. It was no longer day nor was it night but the time between both; dusk.
