I want to make a thread about tattoos
TOO LATE I JUST DID IT HAHAHAAA
What kind of jewelry do you usually keep in your lip piercing?

foxotanashi 10-20-2011 09:30 PM

I normally keep in a hoop. The ones that have two twist on parts. Right now I have in a Captive Bead one.

Echo-chan713 10-20-2011 10:29 PM

I want to get a little bit more piercing on my ears, but I'm not sure if I'll look good in it.

as well as naval, but I'm afraid it would get infected easily since I don't have a flat belly. Tongue piercing would feel weird and sometimes difficult to eat food with.

foxotanashi 10-20-2011 11:07 PM

My navel piercing was good for about 6 months, then got a little infected but it healed pretty fast. I love it now :)

Echo-chan713 10-20-2011 11:16 PM

Has anyone heard of clit piercing?

Yokuutsu 10-20-2011 11:30 PM

I've heard of it and there's NO WAY IN HELL! that I'd get one D:

foxotanashi 10-21-2011 05:33 PM

I'm with Yokuutsu on that one. Ouch.

Yokuutsu 10-21-2011 07:18 PM

The thought of that piercing makes me want to keep my legs closed.

Forever.

Daring Scylla 10-21-2011 07:55 PM

I hear your clit piercing and I'll raise you one. Some males get their testicles or the area around pierced. I knew a guy who got his penis pierced. I wonder what happened to him.
I really dislike the thought of genital piercings. I think that's unnecessary and unsanitary. no offense to anyone who has it. but I shudder at the thought.

Angel Spirit Girl 10-23-2011 07:31 PM

I have pierced ears. Only one pair, though, but that is enough for me.

I was 18 when I had it done at the mall.

I thought I was going to be OK after it was done, but after five or ten minutes I fainted. I hit my head on the tile floor when that happened. Ouch!

Ethereal 10-23-2011 07:54 PM

@ Yokuutsu - I plan on getting my cartilage in my left ear done, the right side of my lip, and the other side of my nose so far. Once both sides of my nose are done I'll be getting super small spikes to put in them, the smallest of small spikes. Yay for shiny metal!

littl3chocobo 10-23-2011 07:58 PM

are you starting with this or are you already covered?

Ethereal 10-23-2011 08:07 PM

I currently have ten piercings but in total I've had sixteen, I just... took six out. Haha, plus I's tattooed so I am well familiarized with medical needles. :3

littl3chocobo 10-23-2011 08:08 PM

how many tats and what of?

Ethereal 10-23-2011 08:12 PM

Currently I only have one tattoo and it`s a cross tweaked from a majority of celtic gravestone styles and adapted into my own metalwork one. It`s not the biggest but it is on one of the most sensitive places on my body, my wrist. When I got it it felt like I took a shot of whiskey but instead of going down my gullet it was in my veins. So, a plesant feeling, no pain at all. Cannot wait to work on my sleeve. I`m super excited.

Daring Scylla 10-23-2011 09:06 PM

I want to get one side of my nose pierced but I am horrified by the thought of infection

Yokuutsu 10-23-2011 11:34 PM

I never had the problem of it getting infected. Sea salt soaks are your friend. And I didn't clean it for as long as they said.

Daring Scylla 10-24-2011 04:38 PM

sea salt soaks? share this witchery with me

Yokuutsu 10-24-2011 07:53 PM

like a little bit of sea salt to a cup of water-warm they say, but I've done cold.

You can soak cottonballs in it and just kinda let it sit there on the piercing....or spray it like I did. If you notice an infection-use the cottonball instead....and you might want to do the same with the inside of your nose-using the cottonballs (you'll have to work with them to get them up there.

Warm is best until the swelling goes down

Daring Scylla 10-26-2011 09:17 PM

witchery

Not to be rude but try not to post one word posts cause it could be considered spam and you could be penalized for it

just a heads up

Daring Scylla 10-27-2011 07:58 AM

Echo-chan; thanks for the heads-up. I will keep that in mind for the future.

Yokuutsu - doesn't the sea salt sting?

Yokuutsu 10-27-2011 08:53 AM

Nah. Maybe it does if you put too much in it....but I've never had it sting.

Kyon 10-27-2011 07:49 PM

I've had my septum and lip pierced. I don't wear them anymore, though. I just stopped putting them in because of work, and now that I'm self-employed I just haven't really thought to put jewelry back in, and I'm kinda over it anyways.

I love septum piercings, still, and I would love to have mine back, but that's about all I would get again, or for the first time.

I took care of them both with sea salt and water. I had issues with my lip ring at first because it was my first piercing and I wasn't informed on after-care, so I ended up breaking out in hives really bad all over my face, and that ended up getting infected completely overnight. I went to bed feeling fine, I woke up with open skin and grossness on my face. It got infected because I was scratching my face that night, since it felt itchy. I ended up having to go to the E.R. and get some ointment, then everything was fine about a week later.

That was not a good experience.

I also have really sensitive skin and if I don't get something that's stainless steel or a real gold or silver, my skin freaks out.

Daring Scylla 10-27-2011 08:18 PM

ugh that sounds awful. it didn't scar, did it?
i can't wear stainless steel in piercing holes, or silver in new ones

Yokuutsu 10-27-2011 09:07 PM

@Scylla
I hate to inform you...most rings put in new piercings are stainless steel so good luck with that...cause surgical steel costs more.

@Kyon
I don't see how you broke out in hives that bad. Shit, I didn't even follow the cleaning procedure. My piercings do better after the first couple of weeks if I stop cleaning at that point.

Daring Scylla 10-27-2011 09:54 PM

i have to get gold/white gold put in new piercings, rather than anything else. It's more expensive, but i'd rather not infect my ears, thanks.
if you go to a good place you can find good piercing jewelry for a small amount of money

Like I said, I have sensitive skin. The jewelry probably wasn't cleaned properly before they put it in.

Nope no scars, I went to the doctor right away and got treatment for it.

I don't remember it was a long time ago, I had just turned 18. I know that I didn't pay attention, and I wasn't well informed on what to look for in a good piercer. I just had a taxi drop me off and got a piercing lol.
It was supposed to be a good place, though. Idk.

Yokuutsu 10-28-2011 02:07 AM

Trust what you see, not what you hear.

Next time pay attention. No telling how many statutes they broke.

Well yes, I am a few years older now and much more experienced, thank you.

Yokuutsu 10-28-2011 11:18 AM

I looked up statutes on piercing in my state....and realized the piercer who did my last couple of piercings...broke some. Not big one, but what if they are breaking bigger ones I don't know of or didn't see?

That's what I worry about >_<

Daring Scylla 10-28-2011 03:00 PM

that's scary. thoroughly research any place before going there, as with tattoos.

Yokuutsu 10-29-2011 12:04 PM

I think he also broke some statutes on tattooing too probably.

But I dunno.
