Wings folded up tightly against the angel's back as her eyes narrowed; it took everything she had not to flinch back from the threatening gesture. She really, REALLY did not like violence, especially when it was directed at her.

"You, sir, are an unpleasant man. No wonder you're standing over here all by yourself. And with that, I don't think have anything else to say to you." she said, her tone a forced calm. Jerk, jerk, jerk, freaking flipping jerk! Sticking her tongue out in a childish manner as a final gesture, Rinni turned on heel and walked away from the man. Hmph, stupid jerkface... bah.

Rinni looked over her shoulder at the man, her gaze unreadable for a moment as she silently mulled over his words. "Eh, wouldn't be the first time someone's bit my head off. Don't sweat it." she said, shrugging once. It was almost dismissive, as if she were brushing off his earlier hostilities. Trying to hold grudges and staying mad took too much energy.

Dark watched the man and angel argue and then stop. It was always odd to watch angels but it was the first gentleman thatt had entered that truely caught his attention. Even as Dark walked towards the red head he could not help but wounder how one approached a conversation.

The redhead was deep in thought, but his eyes were open. Beautiful, bright green eyes to compliment his long blood-red hair. He seemed to be troubled, as his brow was furrowed, and his arms crossed, fingers tapping occasionally, a staccato tattoo of worry that was almost tangible. What, exactly, he was worried about? Was anyone's guess.
Dark wouldn't have to say a word, because the man noticed him first, executing a quick bow, and failing to stifle a yawn. Not from boredom, from exhaustion. Dark would be able - if he were quick - to catch just a glimpse at tiny fangs.

"I do hope you aren't bothered by our presence here." he started.

Unlike the blonde, who carried a soft french-sounding accent... this one's speech was heavily accented british, although something else was mixed in there, it wasn't clear what.

"We are searching for something... something I cannot discuss, but... I assure you we mean you no harm.." He shot a glance at Johann. "DESPITE how my 'friend' may act. He and I have both been... put through the ringer, as you say. It has not been a pleasant journey for either of us, and he happens to be taking it harder than I."

A soft, closed-mouth smile accompanied his words.

"I'm sure that there will be some more suitable... entertainment.. than Johann's tantrums. But in the interim, please forgive him."

"I HEARD THAT!" Johann shouted from across the room, causing the redhead to wince. The blonde turned back to the angel.

"Be glad it was not my father whom you approached in such a frame of mind. He would have made that statement literal. And probably relished it."

A sigh, then a moan.

"Oh, we're running out of time, and that fool of a man refuses to admit that there IS a time-limit... Miss, you haven't seen something that doesn't belong here, have you? It might look like anything... a person, a room, some sort of staff or necklace, even just a thought or a feeling..." He wrung his hands about, trying to explain.

"Something... that doesn't FEEL quite right... maybe it glows a bit?"

"Your presence bothers me not." Dark said quickly to allievate the other's fears and ignored the others fangs. "And I shall endevor to remember that and not plave to much strain on the either of you two. Though Dark seriously doubted he would talk to Johann it was still the polite thing to say. "And I hear that there is supposed to be other /events/ later but for now it is just music."

Ninja was quickly bored by the guests, with exception to the newcomers and a few others. She watched another guest approach the red-head, and exchange a few words. Then she noticed the red-heads eyes. Bright green!! so pretty!! She shook her head, but couldnt help herself. She walked straight up to the stranger and politely inquired "Good evening sir..do you care to dance?" Wait....Its a Halloween party!! and.....I'm supposed to be accompanying my cousin!! Yes, that was it!! Then she remembered what had just happened, and, cheeks burning red, dove behind a black velvet curtain.

Rinni chuckled at the joke, for clearly that's what it had to be. You couldn't literally bite someone's head off; that was just silly!

She paused, but only for a moment; she needn't much time to recall the odd appearance earlier. "Well, there was this odd little boy who just popped up out of nowhere. And he had music playing around him. He just kinda popped in, called us all droll, then challenged us to come find him so we could take him home. If that doesn't count as "odd", I don't know what does." She paused, then thought a moment. "Oh, and I can't find where the music is playing from. I don't see a sound system anywhere."

Dark stared after the one who had asked for the dance. "That was slightly odd."

"Out of the ordinary is every thing here." Dark said calmly. "Any more specific or are you just looking for a large rift of what doesn't belong?" Dark paused and decided that did not sound right, "Err, I mean could you feel anything besides its energy?"

The girl paused, tapping her chin in thought. "I don't -think- anything like that has shown up. I haven't been here as long as some of the other guests, though, so I really can't say. Sorry." She then flashed her trademarked grin. "If I spot anything, however, you'll be the first to know. Sound good?" And by that, she meant she was going to help look. Even if she had no idea what in heaven's name she was looking for.

The redhead yawned a bit, then paused in thought before he started to speak again. He, unlike the blonde, tended to choose his words very carefully.

"What we're looking for is essentially a colossal tear in the fabric of reality. It's not easy to spot, because it isn't visible, but there will be obvious wrongness nearby. Such as sound playing with no speakers, things randomly flying around... even odd people that don't seem to belong..."

Another pause.

"It is imperative that we find the source of this tear, or else all of this place will sucked into it, and turned inside out. But... our presence here should make the tear appear at some point, so we can close it."

"Thank you, Miss. I appreciate you having the patience to weather my storm." Johann said quietly. "I do admit I can get a little... strange now and again. But gods if Redd isn't so infuriating sometimes..."

Dark listened thoughtfully as the other explained. "I'll keep my eyed peeled but I have yet to see something like that."

Ninja listened from behind the curtain, her cousin forgotten. A...tear? Investigating omething like that would be worth making even my superiors angry....I'll watch what happens then. She settled down behind the large curtain and her began listening to her surroundings, happy to finally have something worth concentrating on.

Kelai stuck his head out of Dark's pocket. "Hey, Darky, can I change the music?" He was not to terribly interested in a giant rip in time and space. If it was too much of a problem he was sure Dark would have taken care of it by now.

Dark gave his Chil of Song an amused smile. "Perhaps later, but now we need to find that little tear." He was sure it was not actually little but he often exadgerated things.

Kelai pouted, "Fine, but I still want to change it, my song is much better." He boasted before setting his eyes on who his guardian was talking to. "Hey, Red Haired Person." He greeted cheerfully.

"Don't mention it." Rinnael said, offering her usual grin. "Patience is a virtue, after all. And don't worry; you aren't any stranger than anyone else here." The angel paused a moment, nose wrinkling at the music overhead. "Hey, while we're looking for whatever-it-is, wanna help me find the DJ station or stereo or whatever is playing this music? It's nice and all, but I think the party needs something with a bit more bass and some wooshy-scifi noises."

Rinni blinked, head tilting a moment. Wait, what? "You mean you aren't hearing the Halloween songs playing?" she asked, confused. With how loud it was, how could he not? "And I'm sure I'm fine; fine as a whistle. If there wasn't already music, I would have hijacked the role of disc jockey by now or left." She paused, listening a moment. Yes, music was still there. Weird.

Johann shook his head briefly, then sighed, and looked around again.
"The sooner we can find this anomaly, the sooner we can get out of this place. It is a rather droll, and nothing much is going on - if you'll pardon, again, my attitude in such matters. Of course, I don't expect you to know where the anomaly is - or what it is for that matter. That is another discovery you must make. I? I cannot search for it beyond the cursory examination. If I were to get close to the thing, it would disintegrate me within the blink of an eye."

He shuddered, and looked up toward the ceiling. Feeling something tugging him, he reached out, grabbed the angel's hand, and started dragging her upstairs - whether or not she wanted to go.

"Wait, wait, wait... if it can disintegrate people, why would I want to go looking for it? I mean, if it's that dangerous, I'd think it'd be better for someone better equipped to deal with such a situation to, well, deal with it." As much as she loved helping people, there was a line. Possible self-disintegration was that line.

And then she was being dragged along and towards the second floor, letting out a small sound of protest as she stumbled. She would have yanked back, but as it was, she was trying to keep her footing. "You know, you could have just said to follow you." she muttered, silver eyes falling on the blonde.
