Taiania 01-30-2012 05:37 AM

Lol, I send my love for the pink. My little boy doll Niako is fully dressed in pink. He has a lavender wig too. Such a sweet little brolita

NikkoGallarado 01-30-2012 04:56 PM

lol I will do any color other then Pink for Loitia for my doll. Any how Choco I talked it over with Ed he said I can get the doll from you.

littl3chocobo 01-31-2012 01:41 AM

hehe brolita~

that is wonderful sweetie, do you know when and how you want him shipped? and do you have paypal and do you mind if i don't send the cardboard he came in? it's tatty at the top from two moves

NikkoGallarado 01-31-2012 01:43 AM

Paypal I am not sure. I am okay if you don't I just need to see how I can send you the money and everything I also am waiting on my tax return, that is how I will be paying you.

littl3chocobo 01-31-2012 01:54 AM

as long as paypal accepts i can accept it i don't mind waiting it gives me time to get a box from the post and prolly bubble-wrap, not sure what i have for packing(i stopped doing a lot of that when i moved from my parents' house last year, too much clutter)

thankyou for giving him a good home, when he gets to you can you dress him up and take pics? he is really too lovely for shelving

NikkoGallarado 01-31-2012 01:55 AM

Sure I will do that.

NikkoGallarado 01-31-2012 01:57 AM

How much is the doll again and how much is the S&H???

Quiet Man Cometh 01-31-2012 01:58 AM

Oh wow. Been ages since I thought about BJDs. I was looking at them back in college but could not justify spending the money. I had a folder on my comp of some of the one's I liked but I deleted it sometime ago. I have an account on a ABJD exclusive forum but it's been a while and I can barely remember the name of the forum. Den of Angels maybe? I got into the whole thing following a couple accounts on Deviant Art.

One doll I still like went by the name of "Chen" and I want to say Dollzone but I'm not sure. He was one of the tall ones, 70-71 cm I think. He came in a couple styles, one with short hair and a coat with a furred collar, the other with long black hair and a gold and black Kimono of sorts. Can't recal the website (Canadian I'm pretty sure, had a number of different makes on it) or I'd look for the picture.

There was another one I liked, dolls done in French resin, but the one had vampire teeth which got to me a litte. Shown with a blonde wig, name either "Ripper" or "Rebus" depending on which picture one looked at. I know, not helping much here, am I. ;)

i was hoping about 275 for him and and i eat shipping, though like i said the finger had to be glued back on and he has been played with once and handled a couple times

oh, and the certificate i cannot read XD

^ though i will be sending him through standard shipping unless they have large enough flatrates it costs 25-50 bucks to ship so unless you wanted something special that is how it will be done

littl3chocobo 01-31-2012 02:06 AM

sounds so damn cool though ;^; the chen one that is

NikkoGallarado 01-31-2012 02:07 AM

Okay let me see and chat with Ed about it.

littl3chocobo 01-31-2012 02:10 AM

ok sweetie

dude if you ever find him again, though he sounds like a 1k doll if he was well made

NikkoGallarado 01-31-2012 02:13 AM

I think I may have seen that doll you are speaking of.

Quiet Man Cometh 01-31-2012 02:17 AM

Got'em, and it is Dollzone.

Link with several pics.
Chen 2. Not quite my style but I like the coat.

NikkoGallarado 01-31-2012 02:21 AM

I'm not huge fan of DZ.

littl3chocobo 01-31-2012 02:27 AM

the casts are kinda ugly >>; though the red boots are freakin' awesome looking

NikkoGallarado 01-31-2012 02:28 AM

I like some of the clothing.

Quiet Man Cometh 01-31-2012 02:30 AM

They're on the cheaper end, aren't they? I'm not familiar enough with different makes to really make an opinion. It's rare though, that I find a doll that I really like. Most of them fall in the "okay but not perfect" category. I had hoped to find a doll that I could use to create a fictional character of mine, but never really managed to find one. The best bet was one with vampire teeth, and I ended up turning the image I had of him into another fictional character so it still wasn't up to the task.

I'd have had to custom make all the clothes and such too, to get the character I wanted, so in the end, it was too much of an investment for what would ultimately be a show piece. Still like the idea though. :)

My main problem, of course, is the fact that said character is European, and has the accompanying features.

NikkoGallarado 01-31-2012 02:32 AM

It happens I would like to get one Hisei but I need to save hard core for all her hand made dolls.

littl3chocobo 01-31-2012 02:33 AM

that is why you find the parts and pay for a custom paint, but yeah it is a lot for what is mostly show but i have over a thousand pictures of 'just for show' of my zander and i still like taking shots<3

NikkoGallarado 01-31-2012 02:36 AM

I do short story photos with my dolls have you done that yet Choco?

Quiet Man Cometh 01-31-2012 02:37 AM

I just can't get the darn eyes right. Or, if the eyes are okay, the face shape is wrong. I'm confident in my own artistic skill to be able to get a paint job done myself, or if I can't, I have a couple people I can turn to for help, but I see no point in getting something that might be that pricey if it doesn't fit what I'm looking for. The other snag is my character has half of his head shaved, so not only am I looking at a custom wig, but I would like a doll with a half-way decent looking wig cap since it will be showing.

NikkoGallarado 01-31-2012 02:40 AM

I can see that, but that is much time and love that will go into the doll.

littl3chocobo 01-31-2012 02:42 AM

kinda, i have done sets that have /told/ a story but so far nothing has come out in full that i could post

Quiet Man Cometh 01-31-2012 02:43 AM

Oh most definately so, and that's probably why I still think about it. Maybe when I do find a suitable doll and have the money - or a reliable income source - then I might go back to it.

hmm. some odd typos up there.

NikkoGallarado 01-31-2012 02:45 AM

I have the 7 that covered all the bases of what I wanted and look on how I wanted my dolls.
