Those are cute! I think a pair would be neat but kind spend too much superfluous money now, ;).

My brother has a game that runs on brainwaves called Midn Flex. You basically run a ball through a mini obstacle course with fans by controlling the power with brain activity. Judging from the way the game reacted to me, my ears would be upright, all the time.

Oh and by the way, rechargable batteries don't have the life that regular batteries do in my experience, unless they're making them better now. My CD player could run on regular batteries with me flipping buttons all the time on regular batteries for about 8 to 12 hours. On rechargables it would run from 2-4. I gave up with rechargables. Same with my game boy.

still save money with rechargeables.. ono

How do these things fit to your head anyway? The mind flex game gave me a headache after a while because the band had to be fairly snug and in the right place over your forehead. Everyone had an imprint of a dot on their foreheads where the sensor was.

I just got my pair a few week ago at Tokyo in Tulsa and I love them.

I saw these all over Gencon; there was a booth that was demo-ing and selling thems. Sadly, I did not get to demo them, but they were so pretty~

I... don't understand the popularity of these.

For one, I'm not entirely convinced the motion isn't mostly just randomized.

For another, they don't move like cat ears at all! Cats don't put their ears flat down like that. It's just weird. I think regular cat-shaped non-moving ears on a headband are cuter for a fraction of the price.

Saw them on Think Geek but not abotu to spend the money.

Lestrade, I imagine the motions aren't random but the trick is getting your brain waves to sync with what you are physically doing. From the brain wave game I did I know that if I focused on one thing visually, my brain waves dropped, but if I focused on my hearing, they rose, so chances are my "ears" would be perky while I was walking around not particularly paying attention to stuff, but droop when I was talking with someone. Of course, the mechanism to read brainwaves has to be reliable. Had to do a lot of adjusting with that game. Low battery made a difference too for how well it "read" things.

I've seen cats with sideways ears, but they were usually nearly half asleep, or very relaxed looking. There's only so much realism one can get with clunky ears on a headband. ;)

each time i take the blood test at the plasma bank i get the "your proteins are still low go away" act so yea.. no brain wave kitty ears for me. =(

They look a bit silly, no offense to anyone who has them, but I don't like the sensors being in the way and it looks uncomfortable to wear.

I've gone out in public carrying a purse my niece made for me out of contstruction paper and pipecleaner. 'mimi ears, not that big a deal. ;)
