Lucien glanced at the foxes paw. This was the awkward thing he was worried about. Lucien sighed and gently shook the foxes' paw. "Kanon huh? that's a very pretty name I like it" Lucien looked onward towards the area where Noelle and the other had been.
"Ya, it seems like there tends to be an uprising population in the forest today for some reason" He smiled an looked back over at Kanon "But you don't need to worry I wouldn't let any innocent person get hurt, There is no need to hide when im around" |
Nodding some Kanon stood up looked on blinking trying to see over larger rock to see what Lucien was looking at. "Is there more people around? Are they mean? Will they eat me if they see me?" she asked her ears falling back against her head. Not sure if other people where nice like the person she had just met. Or if they where mean or something worse.

Lucien chuckled and shook his head smiling he gently petted the foxes head and spoke "There are a few others here and from those i met none of them seemed to hostile, Besides i wouldn't let them eat you anyways" Lucien looked over at the fox seeing that it was scared he smiled at her trying to reassure her that everything would be okay.
"So have you lived in this forest for a while?" He was hoping that maybe if he changed the subject he could get the foxes mind off of things. |
"I lived here all my life with my grandmother but she passed on. I never knew where to go so I just stayed living here and lived off the land like how she did!" she said happily. Being petted was new to her but it felt nice so she leaned more int Lucien's hand it was really nice feeling. "That feels nice." with a soft giggle. "If no one is mean or going to eat me, we can go see them yes?" looking up at him bright blue orbs shining a little while looking at him.

Lucien laughed this fox/human was quite the childish like person but somehow it reminded him of Mairi. As he heard the proposition from the fox he nodded then smiled and looked at it. "Sure we can but you know it might be a bit smarter to look like a human so you don't shock others like you shocked me" He stood up after petting the fox a bit more looking towards Noelle's direction.

"Oh. . .that would be smart!" she said, moved away from the Lucien closed her eyes as light covered her body she started to change from being a small fox into a human girl, her hair color was blue like her eyes, it was cut short with a little mess but neat don't even ask how that works. Once changing fully she was covered in a light gray hooded cloke. Taking the pouch from around her neck opened it up to pull out her swords and placed them at her hip.
"Okay all set to go!" Kanon said with smile she wasn't tall for someone her age about 5'5" was all she was. So small for an 18 year old that is an honest thing you could say about. |
Cu blinked. A...a talking fox. What? He nodded at the woman, who had just handed back the flyer, then glanced back at the little animal near Lucien. His name would have to wait for later.
He crept closer to the fox-girl, still wary of the swordman, and looked at her curiously. Would she understand him...? |
Lucien blinked and watching in amazement as she changed forms, He was seeing all kinds of neat powers today but this one was by far the most amazing. It wasn't until after the women had changed into her normal form and pulled out the sword that he had notice the bag.Did..Did she just pull a sword out of that thing.. There just seemed to be alot of amusing things about this girl. He eyed the bag for a quick seconds then nodded and began leading Kanon towards the area where Noelle and the stranger was.

She followed Lucien blinking some then ties the small pouch to her hip where the swords sat looked about the area it was far from her home but it was okay, this was something new and it would be different. It would also help her learn more about other people like how her grandmother wanted it before she passed away. "So are these people your friends? How long have you known them? Am I asking to many things? Am I being a bother? If I am, I'm really sorry your the first person I ever really talked with since my grandmother." she said and asked at the other same time.
Looking from behind Lucien she looked at the people a little shy then moved closer to him held on to the back of his shirt since she didn't know what was going to happen or what would really happen. |

Lucien walked into the scene he lost track of the new stranger that had been here earlier. "Kanon why are you gripping the back of my shirt" he said chuckling and glance back at her "You will be fine i promise they won't eat you." It was at that moment he looked over and saw Noelle with her back turned. "Hey Noelle meet Kanon shes.. Special ya lets go with that special.." he chuckled once more while glancing between Noelle and Kanon. |
Noelle heard Lucien come back but doesn't turn around or respond, she didn't want either Lucien or this new person seeing her with tears running down her cheeks, she hated people seeing her cry. There had only been two people in her life that had seen her cry, one being Collette. But Collette was no longer in this world and the other, a quiet girl who had one of the most amazing smiles Noelle had ever seen and had so oddly reminded her of her dead sister..

Peeking still from behind Lucien holding on to him still Kanon looked at the other blinked a little. "Hello, I'm Kanon, I'm sorry your sad. . .did something happen? Did someone hurt your feelings?" she looked on one hand letting go of the male before as she step out a little more then bowed some. "Everything will be okay, cause you have friends." she smiled brightly.

Lucien blinked he wasn't sure what was going on but somehow Kanon knew that Noelle was upset. How does she know? he slowly walked over to Noelle and place his hand on her shoulder "Hey are you okay whats wrong?" Although he thought Noelle despised him it wasn't in his nature to let someone be upset.
"Hey everything will be okay, I promise" He smiled then looked back at kanon. "How did you know she was upset?" Lucien horrible familiarity with emotions struck again. He was completely stupid when it came to things like this. |
Lebanen removed the cowl of his cloak from his head to reveal his face and long golden blond hair. He watched the increase of people with slight enjoyment. "Interesting", he mumbled as he watched them. So filled with emotion and so impulsive they were. He walked with them but watched them all from the shadows to try and remain unnoticed yet he still considered them as traveling companions.

Noelle heard the new girl ask what was wrong before Lucien's hand on her shoulder, she turns her face the other way and tries to mop the tears up, "N-nothings wrong." she mumbles. It isn't worth explaining what's wrong to him, he'll just have another fit and storm off...
Brushing Lucien's hand off her shoulder, she didn't want to be rude but she needed time alone. Not caring which direction she goes, Noelle forces her legs to move. After running for what seemed like ages, Noelle had to stop to get her breath. Resting her hand against the one of the trees, Noelle catches the sound of.. music. It sounded nearby and the song was quite.. Noelle couldn't describe it, it was hauntingly beautiful. Pushing her hand away from the tree, she makes her way toward where the song was coming from but hesitates upon coming upon the musican before sensing someone else was watching the musician.. |
he flinched as the strange woman entered the water and wandered up the shallower part of the water and hid behind a bend near a rock-break. his breaths came quicker as he watched and hoped the woman had brains enough not to scare off the musician, he wanted to hear the end of the song and he was certain if the man was playing so far away from the world he did not want to be heard

Looking from Lucien to Noelle she blinked some. "My grand mother taught me how to read atmosphere, she said it will come in handy when something is going on with a group of people." she said to him then looked back to the women seeing she was not really any better then watched her leave. "Something must be really wrong if she feels like that. . ." as she rested her hand on the hilt of her sword watching the women she never really got to meet run off.

Hey... Cu resisted the urge to run after the woman, and instead kept walking, wondering what had happened. As the footsteps receded into the distance, Cu wrenched his attention back to the matters at hand. Still intrigued by the girl in front of him, he couldn't resist patting her head to make sure the fox ears weren't still there.

Mairi tilted her head and caught the tune, smiling lightly she moved to the bank and sat down. "Mmmm.... What a pretty song." Smiling as she tried to locate the source with her eyes, but have up after a little bit. "Wonder what could be doing that." Murmuring a he lay back in the sun warmed tall grass. "Why can't the forest be like this more often."

Suddenly feeling someones hand on her head that was not Lucien's hand, she became scared suddenly instantly changing into a fox her swords and pouch falling to the ground as she curled up. "Please don't eat me!" as she shook trying to hide behind her swords and pouch.

That took several seconds to fully register in Cu's mind. Eat...her? Why would I do that? Do I really look all that intimi-- He hadn't finished his thought when he realized his face was hidden, and that his golden eyes probably looked quite scary. He gave it a few seconds more thought, then somewhat reluctantly pulled the hood down.
...Now why'd I do that? I'm probably even more frightening to her, now, he wondered, his wolf ears twitching in frustration. |
"Ahhh you're a little more scary now." as she huddled up against her swords bright blue eyes looking up at Cu. She had not idea what was going to happen and now she was scared cause this was happening and she had no idea who this person was. "If. . . your not going to eat me are you going to pet me?" she asked him in wonder she liked that feeling if they where she would let them it was a nice feeling when Lucien did it.

...Uh. Do foxes have the same reaction as dogs? Apprehensively, he slowly slid a hand under the fox's muzzle. Er. I wonder if they prefer to...scent out the person...before... His ears had swiveled around on full alert, and Cu's inner voice scolded himself for worrying about getting a shapeshifting fox to like him more than about his surroundings and the people around him, who, at any given time, could attack him.
..I meant, she's just a fox, really. I don't think she could effectively use the swords much, anyways... |
Feeling the other softly start to pet her, she slowly uncurled from around her belongings nuzzled more into his hand. "Oh your nice, you also have an interesting sent on you but here. . .I should maybe tell you who I am first." moving away to be able to change back into her human form. Then stood in front of Cu smiled at him some. "My name is Kanon. And you are?" kneeling down to pick up the swords place then back at her hip ting the pouch back to it, then held out her hand to shake the others.

Cu stooped down and cleared out a twig-free patch of dirt, then started writing. He had barely gotten to the second "A" in Cabhan before he paused, though for a bit, then scrawled out what had been written and simple scribbled "Cu" instead. ...Is that even legible? I guess it's good I can spell my own name... Finishing and standing back up, he took off the now-dusty glove and took the girl's hand in his own. How old is she? Her hand is tiny! |
Watching the other kneel down to write there name down she watched carefully seeing how they didn't seem to really speak. "Cu. ." she said softly, "What an interesting name you have." as she looked up at him with smile feeling his hand take hers. "Oh wow, it seems I am very small next to someone like you. But you also have a look of how old can I be. Well to answer your question, I am eighteen years of age." looking him over more. "So what about you? How old are you? What do you do? Do you live here? Are you friend with Lucien and the others?" she asked him since this was another new person she was meeting so she thought it would be good to try and get to know them. "Am I asking to many things? Am I bothering you?" as she stood in her spot still looking at Cu.

Cu winced at the barrage of questions, then trace on his left palm a "23". He supposed that his curiousity much have presented itself on his face, because the girl definitely didn't not have the stature of a normal eighteen-year-old. ..."Friends"? With a guy who just almost attacked me? I think not. He glared again at Lucien, and shook his head, hard. ...Nope, definitely not.
He reached into his pocket again, cautiously unfolding the wrinkled parchment and showing her the bounty printed at the bottom. |
"Oh your way older then me. . .so how come you don't talk?" she asked watching his shake his head hard against the part of being friends with Lucien then watched the other taking out a piece of paper. Taking the wrinkled paper looked at it. "So is Lucien a bad person?" she asked Cu then looked over to to where he was. Now she was confused he was nice, and the new person she met was nice and maybe Noelle was nice but sad at the moment. "So. . . .are you a hunter of some sort?" asking another question to the other. Now Kanon was confused as to who was good and nice and who wanted to eat her.

Not as if I didn't used to be able to talk... Cu thought back to a certain battle, while lifting up the bottom of his hood to expose his deeply-scarred throat. The skin around the puckered scar had stayed mangled for years, and still was. It had very nearly ended his bounty-hunting career, and more than that.
Lucien... Cu shrugged. He'd only just met the swordsman. No telling whether the man was good or bad. But then again, it wasn't so easy to tell in this day. |
"Oh I'm sorry I ask. . .I'm sorry you can't talk, I bet when you could talk you had a really nice voice." she smiled up at him raised her had up to try and see if she could touch the scar, it was sad for her no one should never not be able to talk or not enjoy trying to communicate with others. "Maybe we can fine a away to make it easy for you to talk to others." she said to him.

Lucien spaced off into the distance as the two had there converstaion, Something was odd. He had that sudden feeling in his stomach that something was wrong. He snapped out of his spaciness long enough to see that The man had written his name in the dirt as well as showing Kanon a scar on his throat. Interesting so thats why he cannot talk, Never heard of a mute mercenary before. Lucien chuckled to him self then glanced over at Kanon. "Kanon, i must leave to the north i have a strange feeling about something. You stay here with.... Cu was it? Im sure he won't hurt you."
It was at this point that Lucien Drew his sword the lightning gracefully dancing across his sword and creating a small serpent. He dashed at full speed through the forest and out of the path to the north, where he had told his troop to lay in wait for his arrival. As he came upon the site the air was filled with smoked and charred skin the smell made his stomach turn, The camp was dead everyone of his troops were accounted for unfortunately for Lucien they had been slaughtered. "....C...a..pt..ain.." a struggling voice was heard Near by, it was Then that Lucien noticed a man reaching up towards him at his ankle gasping for breath. Lucien knelt down to the man and looked at him with remorse and fear. "Try to stay calm you'll make it out of this, Who did this?" The man coughed holding his side in pain trying his best to talk to lucien. "After Mairi had left a group of solider led by this strange human dressed in white bone like armor attacked, we didn't stand a chance. They then burned the entire campsite and left towards the north-east" Lucien placed his hand gently over the man's mouth enough to silence him but keep airflow normal. "Rest, you will be fine im sure Mairi still has that bag of medical supplies buried somewhere around this place." Lucien stood up and began wandering through the burnt and slaughtered camp site. |
Looking from Cu then back to Lucien seeing something was wrong with the other she was about to ask if she could help but it seem the other cut her off saying to stay with the one she had been talking to the whole time. Blinking some she nodded watch the other run off into the woods sword drawn. Moving her gaze back to Cu, looking at him again a question filled the youth's mind. "DO you think he will be okay?" she asked moving closer to Cu reaching up to hold on to his sleeve not sure of the outside world and how scary it is Kanon had no idea what was happening at all.

Sitting up slowly as she saw the sun was already sinking towards the wet, Mairi knew that she had to get at least some of her work done. Gathering herself up with a sigh, she headed off down the path to where it split three ways. "Hmm... Can't go back to the old town cause brother just raided it... Guess I'll go to the other close one and get more medical supplies. The army is always getting into pitiful squabbles and don't know how to care for themselves." Mumblimg as she headed down the path that would take her northeast a few miles to the next town that was big enough for the supplies she desired.

Slowly, his fingers came to a pause. He had yet to see any humans on his travels and yet suddenly out of no where a young lady broke through the bush, stumbling into the water, ruining any chance of him gathering any more lunch in to his make shift net. His eyes traveled upwards to the young lady as another one seem to have followed the sound of his music as well. He looked between the both of them. Silently he rose from his seated postion, protectively tucking his beloved instrument behind his back. Both dark haired girls looked too young to be traversing the woods alone. His eyes shifted between the both of them. "<... Hello...?>" He tried in the tongue of the orient, the only lanuage he knew. Idly one of his fingers slid along the wooden shaft of his bow ready incase the girls proved to be demons sent by Kali. If there were these girls, then there were possibly others.
One girl talking to herself, left as quickly as she came. Niaz said nothing to that instead he looked to the other girl once more before letting his eyes drift about his surroundings. Blinking, he thought he saw fingers pressed against a tree. Reaching behind him he plucked his bow from its resting place. His fingers searched for a non toxic arrow, quickly retrieving one and drawing it against the string. He let the arrow fly watching it land in the bush. He took another one and aimed it the girl. "<Speak child, unless you are an agent of Kali.>" |
things got hairy fast when the idiot girl started talking out loud and gave herself away though it was the second that angered the musician and quicker than he would have thought a man could he watched the stranger put away his instrument and pull a bow. he was already standing to flee when a large arrow imbedded itself into the ground at his feet. he did not wait to hear what the man had to say

It had been a matter of minutes between the guy stopping his playing, putting his instrument away and grabbing the bow, firing one arrow before turning another at her and speaking in a tongue that Noelle didn't understand.
"I-i-i was only listening to your song, it-t was beautiful." she stammers, hoping the man could understand English, trying to show the guy that she had no intentions of doing nothing else but listening to his haunting melodies.. |
It should not have suprised him that the girl nether spoke his tongue or appeared to understand. Her face told him other wise as the ruby lips tried to form words he could not read. He watched the girl and heard her studdering phonics but they were not in the tongue we was used to. His mind wondered if she was all that she appeared to be, that of an innocent girl or if she was one of Kali's succubi here to drain his soul away. Silently he pointed his bow towards the shore of the water, but mostly kept his bow trained on her. He tried the gesture again but this time added some speak. "<Move out of the water you are ruining my catch.>" At the end he gestured at his net, where she was disrupting the natural flow of the river.
Often his eyes shifted to the bush as well wondering what became of his other arrow. Once he dealt with the girl he would go and see if he caught a wild animal. |
Lucien stumbled around the burned remains of his troops campsite appalled by the slaughter around his feet, He walked to the area of what used to be Mairi's hut. The area that no man of the troop other than Lucien went near without being scolded, Mairi liked her privacy from the other men apparently all the others where to "Smelly" for her to stand. He knelt to examine the charred dirt and gravel that surrounded the old Hut, Now i remember Mairi saying something about a odd looking rock.. It was then that Lucien had discovered a large Stone in the shape of a wolf's fang with a large mound of dirt underneath it.
"Of course, it had to be the one that had something to do with wolves.." Lucien sighed and gently picked the rock up using it as a sort of shovel tool to dig up the mound careful trying not to hurt the contents under it. Sure enough, Mairi had a small amount of bandages and some weird vial of liquid in the mound. Lucien smiled saying out loud to himself "Perfect." He quickly grabbed the items and made his way toward the area where the wounded solider laid in wait. |
Mairi curiously peered around the area as she made her way towards the next village. "Hmmm.... I should probably stock up on bandages and get some ingredients to make more medicine." Sighing as she pulled out a little coin pouch and frowned at its meager contents. "Hmph.... I wish brother would let me find some work now and then." Grumbling as she glanced ahead to see a weird group ahead of her. "Eh.... Our soldiers wouldn't have left the camp without Lucien's instruction."
