I downloaded Pokemon GO and I don't know how to use it :(

You walk around and hope a Pokémon pops up. If you're in a rural or suburban place...that's about it. Go into town, or by stores, and there will be gyms and pokestops to poke on at different locations.

There is a water types event that's just started! There is an increased spawn rate on all water type Pokemon until the 29th!
They have also made it so that your 7th day spin will now guarantee a special item drop too ^_^ |

I had found out about the water event from a friend, but hadn't heard the special item drop news yet. I have finally had the confidence to start battling gyms and have taken down a few ones level 4 and lower. Unfortunately, so many people have and use Blissey and I almost always time out on those ones. |
Blissey seems to be a problem everywhere. I would love to know how so many people seem to have gotten/found so many Chansey to be able to get them so fast as I only just got my first one on Valentines day (thanks to my other half). I think if you have a good fighting type Pokemon (like Machamp) it's easier to take out when battling in the gyms though.
I've already caught a bunch of water types since it went live last night ^_^ You can also get a free Magicarp hat for your avi in the style area ^_^ I've also managed to get the my last gen 1 Pokemon yesterday too! I finally evolved a Dragonite ^_^ |
Yeeeeah...I'm way behind you on pokemon collecting. Did finally get enough Abra to evolve Alakazam a few days ago, still working on a ton of evolutions though.
And I completely missed the Valentine's event because I didn't have a phone that would run PoGo until about a week after it ended. No Blissey for me yet. |

Yeah...I only see them on gyms, not in the wild. I'm thinking my best bet is getting one in an egg. And even that isn't very likely.

Hatching a Happiny is... possibly the best route, yes. Chansey are pretty rare in the wild.

I don't think Happiny is obtainable yet as I'm sure that's from Gen 4.
If it wasn't for the Valentines I don't think I would ever have got my one Chansey. I'm super happy to finally have a Dragonite though ^_^ He was always one of my favourites and I can't believe I got lucky enough to hatch one last Dratini <3 |
Gotta say, this water event has been really helping my pokedex out a ton and I finally feel like there's a chance I could evolve a Gyrados soon. Especially if I put Magikarp back as my buddy pokemon. I swapped it out so I could work on evolving a few others that were a lot closer to the needed candies.
Oh! And yesterday I actually ended up getting 3 special items from pokestops even without it being my 7 day streak... so that was pretty cool. I definitely want to spend as much time as possible wandering about tomorrow and Sunday. |

I've recently started playing again. I got several Magikarp today, as well as a Ditto that was disguised as Hoothoot.

I finally got my Dunsparce! I've been trying to find one since they were release and finally got one to pop up for me this morning ^_^ I've also managed to evolve a Slowking and a Kingdra with items and just got my final candy needed to evolve my Togepi ^_^ All of that coupled with a few other "rare" catches means I'm much closer to getting all of the Gen 2 pokemon available in my area (UK) ^_^

There has been a new update that has stabilized the game and added more hidden code for things that are on their way. We also have a new loading splash screen with Steelix ^_^

Recently got a phone again and started to play Go again. I don't mind it too much but where I live there isn't that many Pokemon that show up that are hard to find. And sometimes when a hard to find one or rare one spawns out of the blue my husband doesn't get it. Like Totadile spawned for me and his never showed up. Rather sad. We used to play the game together alot and now it's not much we do since there is so much going on with the game. With the update I at times get it glitched where I have to close the app and reload and when we are out; I actually have to turn off data and location then return them back on just to get the game to load. While making sure the phone isn't charging. But hubby has no problems at all when he tries to load the app at the same time as I do.
I hope they do more elemental events. Rather nice they did the water event. We did catch up with most the newer ones released though. Sadly we went to a hot spot for water Pokemon but none spawned at all during the event. We both got sad at that. It's a date spot for us. |

An event beginning in Pokémon Go today gets festive with a big focus on Pokémon Eggs. From 1 p.m. PT today until 1 p.m. on April 20, players are encouraged to get out on the Pokémon Egg hunt.
An increased variety of Pokémon will be found in two-kilometer Eggs during the event. Those are the most common Eggs to find and, as such, typically hold some less than impressive Pokémon. Not so for the next seven days, so trainers should get hunting. Hatching eggs will also earn players more candy than usual, confirming that Pokémon Go understands kids' favorite part of Easter. Everyone will earn twice as much experience for the event's duration, no matter what they do. Last of all, Lucky Egg items will be sold for half off in the game's shop to maximize the experience buffs. |

I'm not so enamoured with what I've seen of the event so far as my egg area is now filled with 2km eggs and I don't like to use the non-infinity incubators on them. That and my time out walking is severely impeeded by the amount of work I have left to do ^_^;;

Yeah. I'm same with the incubators.
This event has the potential to be good for people with unlimited funds they can throw into incubators, but really, other than the increased candy and experience, it really isn't so great. I was excited at first, but the more I think about it, egg events like this kind of suck. |
Yeah, both me and my other half have been complaining about it a bit as with our little one being a pain when we take her out we can't get much mileage done on top of everything else.
It would have been better if there was in increased spawn rate of egg/Easter related Pokemon to find rather than a hatching event. |
I thought it would be a nice event but for me I hate it. For some reason I only have 8 5km eggs and just hatched my 10 just to be replaced by another 10 egg. Really annoying to deal with. My hubby on the other hand has a few 2 eggs and only got a nidoran and oddish out of his hatched ones from yesterday. I really hope they do more element events.

I haven't hatched any 2k eggs yet, but I should be able to hatch one before work tomorrow and another one or even two or three (if I remember to bike up to yhe bank to deposit my paycheck) after work.

Seems android authority posted an article saying raids are coming this summer. We can fight in parties against legendaries and get a rare or high level pokemon if the party wins. Not sure what else but it's going to be announced this summer from Niantic.
