Anatomy is the bane of everything XD

Serra Britt 08-27-2017 02:58 PM

Probably true lol

Den 08-27-2017 06:31 PM

Anatomy is awful... and only conquered via a shitton of practice.

Serra Britt 08-27-2017 07:16 PM

That's something I definitely don't do enough of XD

Den 08-27-2017 09:10 PM

I don't either, tbph

Serra Britt 08-27-2017 09:38 PM

Considering I draw a webcomic, I do get more practice than I might, since I'm trying to adhere to a schedule XD

So, uh...your excitement over this led me to expect something different. I haven't felt it in person, only looked it up on Amazon, but unless it's remarkably softer than the other similar products (most of which are also 100% acrylic), been there seen that.
I do love the names though and would buy it because of that.

Den 08-28-2017 01:52 AM

I notice softness because of being Autistic with sensory issues. I'm extremely picky about what yarn I work with, and even pickier with stuff that I'm going to be wearing later. I enjoy working with Mandala yarn.

Damies 08-28-2017 03:10 AM

Normally my lotions are labeled like this:

But the custom order labels were made by having the customer write the labels herself to make them more personal for the person she is gifting to. xD

tsukiko 08-28-2017 11:49 AM

ohhhh well yours look really nice :D

I'll have to check it out eventually. I do like some of the color schemes.
I don't know what all stores you have available, but have you felt any of the other varieties of the cakes yarns (Caron Cakes, Bernat Color Pop, Premier Sweet Rolls, etc)? If so, was it softer? And if you don't have access to those, then that's fine too. I love the color cake yarns in general and will probably buy these eventually. It's almost impossible for me to get to Michaels (most likely store to carry these), but I can always attempt to order them online direct from the lion brand website.

Kaderin Triste 08-28-2017 05:26 PM

Well, unless a miracle occurs, I am once again (for the third month in a row) not finishing a fox in time for the end of the CAL. But, I will be able to pick up the yarn I need to finish it tomorrow and can finish the parts at least. I will just be waiting on the eyes which shipped out this morning. So....there may still be a chance.

ALSO: Since the month is almost over, I am once again opening up theme nominations for the month of September! So suggest away!

SparX 08-28-2017 10:53 PM

Birds? Flowers? . . . Zombies?. . . .FLOWERS AND ZOMBIES!

Den 08-28-2017 11:03 PM

BODY PARTS

SparX 08-28-2017 11:04 PM

whew don't get me too excited den XD

tsukiko 08-28-2017 11:34 PM

i'll second the zombies idea xD

Kaderin Triste 08-28-2017 11:37 PM

Personally, I think zombies are a better October theme, but I'm not gonna argue it.
XD
If you guys want zombies, then it can be zombies.

tsukiko 08-28-2017 11:38 PM

october can be...urm.....pumpkins? like maybe carving pumpkins or something xD

Kaderin Triste 08-28-2017 11:39 PM

8O
In leiu of a craft along we can just do pumpkin carving!
Yes!

tsukiko 08-28-2017 11:46 PM

and i KNOW for a fact that dollar tree has carvable pumpkins xD they are made of styrofoam that are painted to look like a real mini pumpkins. so you don't have to get a real one, you can get one from there for a buck xD *if you're in the US/Canada that is....*

i've never carved a pumpkin *yes, not even as a child*, so it'd be interesting and i'd be up for the challenge if everyone else is xD

Serra Britt 08-29-2017 12:00 AM

Zombies would be a cool theme...so would pumpkins really.

Geez, I haven't carved a pumpkin in ages, I think it would be fun :)

Do not mock my love of zombies and all things zombie related!

Kaderin Triste 08-29-2017 01:41 AM

I carved a pumpkin last year for an event on a different site.
I don't carve them often as an adult, but I might consider picking one of the foam-type ones up to carve. Less mess. Although I do like having pumpkin in the freezer for pie so....who knows.

SparX 08-29-2017 02:36 AM

I OFFER MY FOX FOR THIS MONTH

Also I thought a general horror theme would be nice for october, personally.

trystan830 08-29-2017 10:44 AM

awesome fox, SparX!

SparX 08-29-2017 11:20 AM

Thanks trystan, I am kinda proud of it XD

trystan830 08-29-2017 11:42 AM

you're quite welcome! =)

Serra Britt 08-29-2017 01:47 PM

I think it's amazing SparX!

Kaderin Triste 08-29-2017 02:43 PM

For the first time ever, we seem to have some debate on the next theme.
I will tally suggestions and votes for themes after work.

Damies 08-29-2017 07:47 PM

theme should totally be....bananas.

SparX 08-30-2017 10:02 AM

-downvotes bananas- Just because I am anti-banana

Kaderin Triste 08-30-2017 11:19 AM

Okay, so major theme suggestions so far are this:
Zombies
Pumpkins(? Not sure if this suggestion was intended for September or October)
Bananas

It has also been suggested that October should have a general horror theme (which,in my opinion, would include zombies) or pumpkins/pumpkin carving.

Damies 08-30-2017 11:28 AM

-pounds fists on table-
BA-NA-NAS
BA-NA-NAS
BA-NA-NAS

In all seriousness I am not very opinionated this month. xD

tsukiko 08-30-2017 11:47 AM

pumpkins was for october when i suggested it xD

i think sept. should be zombies :P

Kaderin Triste 08-30-2017 12:11 PM

Lol. So then the nominated themes are banana and zombies.
Zombie Bananas?
XD

tsukiko 08-30-2017 12:12 PM

zombie bananas can be a thing :P

Kaderin Triste 08-30-2017 12:21 PM

Lol.
I think Zombies wins just by sheer quantity of yes votes. But a zombie banana totally works for that.

Unfortunately, zombies not so easy for me with my typical craft of choice, so I'll have to branch out and possibly do something new. Although I imagine it will probably be more likely to get done.

tsukiko 08-30-2017 12:24 PM

you usually knit/crochet? maybe do string/yarn art of a zombie?

Kaderin Triste 08-30-2017 12:30 PM

I do loom knitting. And there are zero actual patterns for zombies.

String art? Like...gluing string to paper? Eww

tsukiko 08-30-2017 01:29 PM

BWHAHAHAHAA well, like the stuff that was popular in the 70s.

you take a piece of wood. paint it, cover it with whatever as a background. then you nail brads into it in the shape of whatever (brads are tiny finishing nails) then you just wrap the string back and forth between the nails. no gluing unless you can't get a knot at the end, then you just glue the end piece around the last nail.

https://img0.etsystatic.com/128/0/12...80934_mwsw.jpg
that one is like...super advanced, but i was just showing you an example xD
