Nice!
I recognize most of those references. |
thanks!
the first row is the mice and 42 from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy; Smaug from the Hobbit (2 panels); and the Millenium Falcon from Star Wars. the second row is K9 from Doctor Who; Bill Cypher from Gravity Falls; dinos from Firefly; and the Worm from Labyrinth. |
Ah, I didn't know K9 (because I just haven't had access to a lot of Doctor Who, so my main knowledge of that is simpler stuff) and the Gravity Falls one. I've heard of Gravity Falls, but never seen it.
The rest, I'm super aware of. Though Smaug I really only would have 100% known as Smaug because you had said what it was previously, otherwise, it just looks like a general dragon, which could be from anything... And I haven't really gotten much into Star Wars, but the Millennium Falcon is just so iconic that most people could tell you what it's from probably. |
my daughters would watch Gravity Falls when it was on regular Disney channel, but then they stopped watching it, and the final season went to Disney HD, which we don't have... so then i watched it on that sketchy website i have bookmarked XD
K9 started out with the Fourth Doctor, and he had an episode with the Tenth Doctor... and a few spin-offs. i've watched them all :) and yeah, the Falcon makes sense. the Falcon is one of my fave ships. XD |
Someday I want to watch Doctor Who, but my phone doesn't really do videos, so unless I can download them to watch offline, I'm SoL. That or finding them at an affordable price and just buying them on DvD are my only options for watching....pretty much anything right now.
Or make friends with someone really rich who only wants friendship from me and will pay for internet for me for life. But that'll never happen. |
i was lucky that my library system has a number of them, quite a bit of classic Who, and just about all of new Who, so yaay! and for what they didn't have, i filled in with a few of my sites i have links to. but some of the early episodes (First and Second Doctor) just don't exist anymore, the BBC had some rule where they junked or recorded over older episodes. audio exists, so some episodes i watched were the sound with just production pics for the visual, and some they've animated, which is really awesome!

Meanwhile I would've gotten exactly zero of those references without being told
|
eh, it's fine. :)

Starting a new knit of a pattern I did a modified version of for practice. This one is gonna follow the pattern to the letter, except for the needle size and the yarn used... might also add some length to things... It's for a friend.

Started making my first chainmail dragon. Am about 3/4 done with the body segment minus scales, which are added at the very end. Kind of want to work on it more today, but should work on finishing a plushie dragon instead since, if I finish it tonight, I can bring it in tomorrow with some of my others to possibly go in the museum's gift shop. And it just needs the easy finish parts of spine, wings, and eyes.

|
rawr! that's adorable!
|
I still need to figure out eyes, though I have a small jumpring size that may work, and also add scales down the back and the tail.
|
you'll figure it out, i'm sure.
|
The pattern calls for 10mm donut beads, which I do not have and I'm 90% sure we don't have at JoAnn, but I think I can make a small mobius with some rings that will work.

Looking good so far
