Oh gosh. After that travesty, someone is going to have to roll at least a base 18 diplomacy check. If only we had a Half-Elf in the group to lend their racial ability to get that extra +1. Or Intimidate, if anyone decided to take that.

Haha. I don't think I've ever heard of anyone wishing there was a half-elf in the group before. Half-elves: defining "meh" since 1974. :p

In a fantasy setting, I think Dante would be half-elf or half-drow....

Seriously, though, half-elves are an embarrassment to both of their heritages. There is almost no mechanical benefit to playing one, at least in any edition up through 3.5. I never got into 4th.

Alright, I started the negotiations. Feel free to chime in and give me a hand...I'm not sure how much "cute'n'innocent" is going to get us :p

4th is actually good, although very streamlined. People rage that it's just a version of WoW now though, and they've removed all the roleplay from it. This argument is retarded, since the DM is the one that makes the roleplay, as are the people involved. However, I do feel that some of the classes and races in Player's Handbook 2 and 3 kind of stretch the limit though, and does make it feel a bit WoWish. And since I'm an intolerant person, I limit certain races/classes whenever I can find a group.

And I used to have a wonderful Half-Elf Paladin of Bahamut, who was extremely bigoted and hateful towards all elves. He hated himself a lot. Something about daddy issues.

I actually never got into it because my group broke up around the end of 3.5's lifespan, and because 3.5 was pretty everything I wanted in a system once I'd gotten done modifying to Baator and back.

And it's always been a shame that half-elves sacrifice cool RP flavor for stats that are the definition of mediocre.

Looks, it's the only way an elven character can even have facial hair. Sometimes, you have to make sacrifices if you want a goatee and a long(ish) life.

Eh, I can never have a well-adjusted characters. I've had things from my self-hating paladin to the Don-Quixote-esque 'Magnus von Magnusson von Magnusson'. Was a Halfling who believed that he was actually a giant, and a wizard cursed him with a Halfling's body at birth, due to his fear that he would someday end his wicked ways. He lists his actual height as 9'13". And he was my favorite. Oh, nostalgia.

Tough crowd tonight. No one feel like posting I guess? And Suz, I think Rue was looking for a bit more interaction with the Guard Captain. Went in all hot and bothered about things and wanted 'em addressed.
