Ducky 03-16-2012 01:51 PM

I think he may have handed in 4 applications in 3 years. All when our mother came to stay.

Red Calypso 03-16-2012 01:52 PM

So he's not even trying...does he do odd jobs or anything?

Ducky 03-16-2012 01:58 PM

No. He only leaves the flat when we force him to be social every few weeks.

Red Calypso 03-16-2012 01:59 PM

Sounds like he could use some therapy...maybe a little tough love?

Ducky 03-16-2012 02:13 PM

He's 23, so it's really up to him if he has therapy or not. My parents have made various plants of practically kidnapping him though.

Red Calypso 03-16-2012 02:15 PM

They might get away with it, though they could get in trouble if things go wrong.

Ducky 03-16-2012 02:18 PM

He has all ready lost his girlfriend of almost 4 years through how he acts. So really i don't think there'a anything we could do to change how he is.

Red Calypso 03-16-2012 02:23 PM

Has he always been like this or is it just the last few years?

Ducky 03-16-2012 02:24 PM

well, he had school or a job to stop him getting so bad before. But he quit his job to move here then never bothered again. It was there all the time, he just had certain things preventing it back then.

Red Calypso 03-16-2012 02:27 PM

I have a question I want to ask, but it's personal and I have no business asking it so I'll restrain myself.

Ducky 03-16-2012 02:32 PM

Ask away. I don't think I'll care to much.

Red Calypso 03-16-2012 02:34 PM

I'm assuming the three of you share an apt. or house. Does he contribute financially?

Ducky 03-16-2012 02:38 PM

We share a flat, and we all pay an equal amount each month. He worked full time for 3 years, and his gaming lifestyle meant he never really had any reason to spend that money. So he is actually more financially well of than us.
I also don't have a job, but I'm actively looking for one at least.

Red Calypso 03-16-2012 02:43 PM

Ah, so it's not really that bad at the moment. It could be that if he starts getting low he'll get out and find another job. *hugs* I hope you can find a job soon. I was down for quite a while because I couldn't find a job, then I got accepted for disability, which has eased things tremendously.

I hate to run but I need to eat and then take a nap. I'll be back later. Thank you again for helping me reach my goal!

Ducky 03-16-2012 02:50 PM

He's been lasting for 3 years off this money, and probably has another 2 or 3 years left. I don't know how he will be after 5 years of having no job and doing nothing but gaming..

It was good talking to you. See you later.

Red Calypso 03-16-2012 06:42 PM

If he has a skill of any type he might be able to pick it back up.

Ducky 03-18-2012 11:05 AM

He's a very skilled gamer. That's it.

Red Calypso 03-18-2012 11:29 AM

That is a problem. What did he do before?

Ducky 03-18-2012 11:48 AM

Basic floor staff in a super market, and then he got a small promotion to grocery assistant through being there so long. nothing much really.

Red Calypso 03-18-2012 11:51 AM

Well, he could always go back to just a basic job. It's better than nothing.

Ducky 03-18-2012 12:12 PM

I'm sure he could, but he wont. That's the problem :P

Red Calypso 03-18-2012 12:13 PM

Well, if it gets to the point where he's running out of money, he won't really have a choice...

Ducky 03-18-2012 12:17 PM

And by that time he'll have about 5 years without do ANYTHING in life on his record. That's really not something an employee is after.

Red Calypso 03-18-2012 04:45 PM

Sadly, that's true. I wish I could help more, but in the end it's all up to him.

Ducky 03-18-2012 05:08 PM

And sadly that's exactly where the issue lies.

Anyway, how are you?

Red Calypso 03-18-2012 05:13 PM

Doing pretty good, it's a beautiful day! Just the right temp, with a lovely cool breeze blowing. Sadly, I'm about to go take a nap so I'll miss part of it.

Ducky 03-18-2012 05:17 PM

It's all ready past 9pm here so my day is coming to an end. Can't say it was a very beautiful one either.

Red Calypso 03-18-2012 08:43 PM

Aw, did you have bad weather? We have a chance of thunderstorms, which will be welcome for the rain.

Ducky 03-19-2012 12:48 PM

I live in Scotland, so bad weather is the norm. We can get up to 3oo days in which it rains a year.

Red Calypso 03-19-2012 01:37 PM

Oh, that would drive me nuts! I live in Texas, where the winters are usually mild and the average is 261 sunny days a year. Mind you it can get up to 100 and over in the summer.

Ducky 03-19-2012 01:51 PM

When I was in America it was around 100 the entire time. it was insane. Going from so much rain and cold to 5 weeks straight of such intense heat. I liked it though. Much better than rain.

Red Calypso 03-19-2012 01:57 PM

I agree. I much prefer heat to cold, I always have. I could never live any further north than I already do, and I wouldn't mind living even further south, maybe down by the coast.

Ducky 03-19-2012 01:59 PM

You wouldn't ever want to come here then. Those hottest I've ever seen it here is 26 Celsius, which is just under 80 I think.

Red Calypso 03-19-2012 02:00 PM

Yeah, living in England, Scotland or Ireland would not work for me. I used to want to visit Ireland when I was younger, but my traveling days are pretty much over now.

Ducky 03-19-2012 02:01 PM

My traveling days are over for now, until I manage to get a well paying job with good holidays.

Red Calypso 03-19-2012 02:09 PM

I'm not really physically up to long trips these days.

Ducky 03-19-2012 02:11 PM

If i had the money I would be all over the world. There are so many places I want to visit, and I'm fully capable of doing so, besides the lack of funding.

how come you can't?

Red Calypso 03-19-2012 02:14 PM

Between my heart and my lungs, I really don't have much oomph these days, and I have enough trouble with feet and ankle swelling without throwing flying into the mix. And of course there's always the financial side to consider.

Ducky 03-19-2012 02:17 PM

I have a lung disease, hearing problems, arthritis and a few other issues myself. There are some areas I wont ever visit due to the effect they may have on my health.

Red Calypso 03-19-2012 02:23 PM

*nods* These days NOTHING could get me to visit my sister. She lives in the mountains and I just wouldn't be able to breathe up there.

Well, this is going to be my last post for a few hours. Time for lunch and then a nap.
