And some people are like that.. My friend's son got put in jail for hitting her father, even though he was defending her from him, the father pressed charges anyways. -hugs Neirra-

That's what happened to my friend.
His mother slapped him, he pushed her and she went running to the police with some bullshit story that he beat the shit out of her. And he was found guilty.

He was found guilty from a push..? "Beaten the shit out of" would leave bruises :/

nyreen 08-25-2011 11:16 AM

Yeah well.
When a woman cries wolf, there must be a wolf.
Right?
You know what I'm getting at.... :/
It seems that if a woman says that a man beat her, then it must be true because all men are violent, right?

I understand Neirra -.-; Generalizations and stereotypes make things easy to look at when it comes to groups, but I really think everyone should be treated as individuals in all ways possible. It just seems like sometimes, people don't want to do the extra work to get to know an individual and write them off as "Well they are a ___, so they'll be like this." It's kind of a shame, really...

nyreen 08-25-2011 05:41 PM

Yeah exactly.
I read about a woman who accused a man of being her rappist. He went to jail for ten years, then the police started to see holes in her story. She then admitted that she had made the whole thing up. She ruined that man's life.

Makes you think about that line: "Better to set 100 guilty people free than to sentence one innocent to jail." Just makes you wonder what some people have to go through.

nyreen 08-25-2011 10:08 PM

I don't understand why people even go to jail.
Do people not understand how more fucked up it can make an individual?

I don't think they realize at all what it does to people. A lot of people will see it instead as "Look how messed up they are, I'm glad they went to prison." rather than "Prison really messed them up, why did we send them there?"

nyreen 08-25-2011 10:47 PM

It just makes people worse. :/
Instead of sending them to prison give them extreme like.. what is it called? Community serves. But imo the people who rape and murder should be sent to jail PERMANENTLY.

Rape and murder are the big ones that I think people should be separated from others for too. Stealing? No... Drugs? No... Those kind of people need help, not isolation.

nyreen 08-25-2011 10:57 PM

Yeah.
Rape and murder = thrown in to jail, no probation, no trial in like ten years, life sentence.
Drugs, stealing = rehab. :/

It's like, I suddenly realized they weren't blinking at random...

nyreen 08-25-2011 11:42 PM

rofl yeah.
And I don't think that they blink at the same time.
