I always thought houses were supposed to have mudrooms.
Every house I've been to in Minnesota had a mudroom D: |
In Portland the country houses had mud rooms but not in the city for the most part. In Idaho some houses have mudrooms and, some like mine have a laundry room strip that’s also a mud room and some houses just have a 4x4 square of tile on the floor inside each door
|
I didn't realize those were a thing until recently. Surprised at how common they are in some areas.
|
so what is a mud room? my motherinlaw has mentioned them before but i am super confused
|
A mudroom is like.. a room where you put all of your heavy winter stuff.
My parents had one in our house and it was like, a room that you walked into first, there was a closet and there was a little built-n seat/storage box where you places wet boots. I've seen some mudrooms with cubbies instead of closets. My best friend had a house with cubbies in the mudroom. I don't think I've ever seen a house without one until I moved here. |
Dropping by to say hi.
|
so just a front hall. okiedokie i get that
careful of how you land~ |
wanders into here, glances at the differences between houses built in different areas that serve functions that are primarily suited to that area, notes it for useless trivia and buggers off again.
|
we don't really have a mudroom, per se, as our front entryway is linoleum, and the laundry room is right off the garage...
|
Plz help me not be so socially awkward
|
I think we all lost the rule book.
|
Alas.
That’s how it is. |
i can help but you'll be socially unpleasant instead
|
I think the only way to be less socially awkward is to fake it. Like, watch people that are socially adept and steal their souls...err secrets... to emulate them.
|
i am constantly nervous about how i act in general because of the potential of being cancelled for fucking up. please for the love of god call me out if i fuck up, i likely haven't noticed shit because i'm terribad at catching myself if i fuck up.
|
I get overly enthusiastic!!!! And people think I’m weird or clingy or I don’t even.
Anyway!!! It’s gonna be a cold weekend! I’m excited >w< |
whaat better to show lots of feelings than no feelings or bad feelings!!
Also if all else fails show a pic of Winter if you don't win their hearts with that... well, they're monsters |
I try really hard to not be socially awkward.
I'm actually so bad at conversations that my therapist has been helping me learn how to converse with people without being so awkward. |
i try not to be clingy w/ friends bc, y'know, mild fear of abandonment. (more than mild at this point.)
|
I love your enthusiasm, Glitch. I hope you never change that about yourself.
I can't wait for it to start cooling down and not be hit by an onslaught of wet air when going outside. |
Yasss glitch we love you and your enthusiasm <3
|
Awe thanks guys ^^
You can come here and enjoy the cold xD |
Ew cold D:
|
Oooo! I love the cold!
I miss it very much. People here think that 60s is cold! |
Nah Glitch, can't help you to be less awkward, but we can be awkward together.
*celebrates cold with a 10 minute fireworks, tons of multi colored confetti thrown in the air by half naked people of all genders and one huge triple chocolate cake for the ace folks, lights sparklers and posts an invitation to the changing seasons party to 5000 random strangers on facebook* |

In Minnesota, by the second week of October, we'd have snow. It usually dropped to 30s in October... It used to get so cold in Minnesota that when you breathed through your nose, the hairs in your nose would freeze. I miss it, though. I love snow and sweater weather. uwu |
it doesn't get that cold over in the UK. we do get black ice / ice on occasion, though, which is an absolute bitch.
|
It has already snowed on the peaks up above us. It is supposed to get down into the 20s(f) here by the end of the week. It usually has snowed at least once even if it doesn't stick, by Halloween here.
|
I don't want to freeze my nose hairs <.<
|
