this is the point where i weep into my pillow...

i didn't finish my NaNo novel last year (because of family and other stuff)
earlier this week i decided to work on it some more
i open the folder and the last chapter i worked on has vanished

now i don't know whether to try to recall it as it was or do a complete rewrite

I can relate to that ... I had a story of mine that I kept on my flash drive (and stupidly enough, only on the flash drive). At one point, I was working on it in the library at school and the lunch bell rang so I had to quickly close everything and leave. ... As soon as I was halfway to the cafeteria I realized I left it in the computer. By the time I got back it was gone.

I looked for it for the rest of the year and part of the next year, but no one had seen it .... All that work. Gone.

man, that sucks!

i had that happen with my glasses once. we had a presentation in the lecture hall, and i took my glasses off so i could watch the video, bell rang, i left, came back after my next class where i realised i couldn't see the board, glasses were gone. i didn't get a replacement pair until like 3 years later.

the weird thing with my story is that i could've sworn i saved it in three different places, and i know that at least one of those files was intact the last time i was checking word counts... i guess my pooter ate it o.o;;
