I wish. She is the best though.

Coda 12-16-2015 11:02 PM

She knows how to interact with fans, at least. I kinda get the feeling she's one of those actors who has a character she plays for the public.

Well, you're luck is just as bad as mine! :P

Also, thanks Glitch, for one of the borders! I just been a bit busy lately to post a whole lot. ^-^

I like Felicia Day, though I have not ever met her in person.

Glitch 12-17-2015 04:54 PM

The closest I have been to meeting a famous person. . .

The guy who plays Sam in lord of the rings was at a convention and we didn't want to pay money to go meet him xD so my bf did a drive by cellphone photo that is pretty much too blurry to even tell.

And I stayed the same hotel as bill nye ouo

Coda 12-17-2015 05:18 PM

I... um... >.> I worked in Hollywood for a couple years. I've worked with Tim Russ, Walter Koenig, Robert Picardo, and Grant Imahara. (Walter likes to play up the dirty old man angle, but he's a sweetheart. Grant is a really nice guy.) I've met Vic Mignogna on a couple different occasions. (Also a nice guy.) I was in the building while the Red Hot Chili Peppers were recording one of their albums, although I didn't get to meet any of them. My wife's met Scott Adsit (Baymax's voice actor) and got him to record a message in-character to our son. We got one from Grant too. She's also good friends with Ash Paulsen.

Glitch 12-17-2015 05:24 PM

OH I guess I have also met Vic Mignogna, that guy gets around. XD

Espy 12-17-2015 05:42 PM

This is gonna be completely off-topic, but I'm amused at how easy it is to recognize a person just from their avatar.

Tohopekaliga 12-17-2015 06:20 PM

I actually recognize those names, Coda. :O Very Star Trekky.

I think most people have a sort of "theme" they tend to stay within for their avatars.

Gallagher 12-17-2015 06:30 PM

Like Toho always being a fish, or Espy always being black/silver/sometimes a third color but always with the same skin tone, or Coda always looking exactly the same even when he puts new stuff on.

Or me always having the same hair and face.

Or Lucid always having the same face and skin. Illu usually wearing the same ocean and black with the same hair in the same styles. Cho usually being baseless. Obsidian and Suze usually dressed in black and purple. DK always with the same hair and face.

Salone either dressed like something dumb or as a cliche.

What I enjoy most is watching newbies go from the trademark didn't-even-try with their layering, into their own unique style. AC is getting a pretty cutesy-yet-complicated look, while Myst is leaning towards characters-within-scenes.

Espy 12-17-2015 06:50 PM

Oh man, I remember my newbie avatars :| I had joined right in the middle of Nox, I think? and EVERYTHING was red and black. It was great, and awful in hindsight.

There are a few things in my closet that I made while trying to mimic another user's style...hm. Spoilers for each person imitated. A couple of these should be really obvious to oldbies.

Well, I was a gofer for Star Trek: Renegades, so naturally. :P

I think a lot of people (myself included) also tend to stick to a particular set of facial features even when everything else changes.

EDIT: Espy, I don't remember who some of those are, but I remember you having a couple of those avatars.

Gallagher 12-17-2015 06:58 PM

Not just facial features, either. It's interesting how many users always use the same skin tones regardless of how nice they look with their outfit. And, to a lesser degree, the same gets done with hair colors. Lots of our users stay within a particular range of hair colors.

Tohopekaliga 12-17-2015 07:06 PM

I almost always use blue/green hair, some variety of skin replacement overlay, the eyes from Ira, and something from Jellyfisher. (My current skin is three Jellyfishers.)

So, yeah, those things are definitely true for me, lol.

Coda 12-17-2015 07:10 PM

By the way, Galla, I haven't ALWAYS looked the same. You forget the time I was in a white mage outfit for a couple months. (Same hair and face though.)
