there's a Hobby Lobby about 20 minutes from me. i went there once, nothing to write home about. i don't plan on going again, especially since in my shopping center along with the AC Moore and my Michael's, there's a Home Goods too. XD

littl3chocobo 12-29-2016 01:01 AM

i've never heard of it either and i buy crafty stuff regularly XD

Kaderin Triste 12-29-2016 01:03 AM

Yeah. You've got everything you need in one convenient area.
I'm kind of hoping Hobby Lobby stocks more of the things I can only get online right now...specifically colored jump rings for chainmaille/jewelry and stuffed animal eyes.

trystan830 12-29-2016 01:05 AM

animal eyes - do you use safety eyes? you can get them on etsy. i have a shop favorited, but i've never bought from them yet

Kaderin Triste 12-29-2016 01:10 AM

Yeah. I use safety eyes. I can get them from a site for cheap...between like 40 cents to $1 per pair depending on size and style. I just hate having to pay shipping.

littl3chocobo 12-29-2016 01:11 AM

a lot of countries do not charge for shipping depending on your locale as long as you can stand the wait XD

trystan830 12-29-2016 01:14 AM

i get them at JoAnn's (they're the same price at AC Moore, but JoAnn's has the size i use) for like $2.49 for 4 pairs... but i wait until there's a 55% off or 60% off coupon. =)

Kaderin Triste 12-29-2016 01:14 AM

I like the site I go through. They have fantastic variety for what I want and the shipping isn't actually terrible. But if a store in town carried the right kind/size of safety eyes, I'd probably buy more frequently from the store instead of online.

Lucky, trystan! The JoAnnes and Michaels stores here don't carry safety eyes. Or any other kinds.

trystan830 12-29-2016 01:14 AM

that makes sense too, Kaderin.

i use the 9mm eyes the most

Moonshadow 12-29-2016 01:16 AM

Wow! Wish we could all go craft shopping together.
We can start at one store and store hop! haha

trystan830 12-29-2016 01:18 AM

actually that would probably be dangerous, Moonshadow... but a lot of fun, too. XD

Moonshadow 12-29-2016 01:20 AM

nah...I'm the Momma I will keep us all safe. hahaha ohhhhhh you mean how much money we will spend? yeah, well you are right too dangerous.

trystan830 12-29-2016 01:22 AM

yep, all the money we'd spend. =)

but we'd have a great time, i'm sure.

what state to we all want to meet in?

Kaderin Triste 12-29-2016 01:23 AM

Trystan: Yeah. I use 10mm and 12mm slit pupil eyes. I just checked the site I order from and the most expensive ones are only 67 cents per pair. Not terrible.

Moon: If I had the money for a shopping spree that would be fantastic!

trystan830 12-29-2016 01:31 AM

plugging numbers into my calculator - using a 55% off coupon, it works out to about 30 cents per pair of 9mm eyes i use. and i'm usually going there for something else already, so i probably wouldn't factor in the gas in my car that i used. =)

Kaderin Triste 12-29-2016 01:33 AM

That's a really good deal. I am cursing my stores for not carrying the eyes I need.
:c
