thankyou! though i would like to amend it to also say 'or cause unnessisary duress for other living creatures' XD at least for myself |

...But some fungi are nommy and good for you... T_T Galla, you're mean*! *I kid. I know not everyone can hack mushrooms or other fungi. I just like 'shrooms on pizza, and pretty much anywhere I can get 'em. |

I know how plants respond to environmental stimuli and use chemical signals to communicate information. These are all autonomous processes, none of which require a neural network. Microorganisms do the same thing, as do the cells in your body. None of this implies the ability to feel pain. if you're going to make a factual, scientific claim ("Trees can feel pain") then you need to support it with scientific, empirical evidence. Hence, a published study. If you can manage that, then by all means, I will change my mind about cutting down trees for Christmas. otherwise, you're making baseless claims, and I don't change my behavior on the baseless claims of strangers on the internet. |

My Night of the Fungal Dead! NOOOOO! (Seriously, their diverse abilities are cool...including their terrifying ability to mind control ants) |

All I know is that when I was in high school, we were NOT allowed to cite Wikipedia as a source because of the editability. Therefore, I am really reluctant to accept it as evidence in a discussion on ANY matter. It, to me, is more of a database with information on subjects, but again, due to its editability, it's not the most reliable source.
And I'm going to do my best to try and change the subject to something a bit more pleasant. Does anyone have a favorite holiday movie they would be willing to recommend? |
I don't have many that I like, but my favorite is easily The Life & Adventures of Santa Claus
|
One sec
(Does Casper's Boo Moon count? I used to watch it on my folk's Beta player...decades after Beta was dead...with a grouping of christmas specials) AND THAT! GALLA SAID ONE OF MY FAVORITES! Sorry... |
I don't think I've seen that one...
"Frozen" is up there on my list... Yes, because of "Let It Go". Yes, I am a grown woman who likes a children's movie. Deal with it. :D I really didn't, and still don't, care for "It's a Wonderful Life". |
I'm honestly not a huge fan of holiday movies. Or holiday music.
which is odd, because Christmas is my favorite holiday. *shrug* |
Nothing wrong with that. I have a rule that I don't start playing "Christmas" music 'til Black Friday at the earliest. But last year, I got burnt out on it 'cause I worked retail.

Intro of Life and Adventures of Santa Claus
Depends on the music. I like older music and their renditions usually. So, often can be considered religious (Pagan, Christian, Jewish, what have you) - Less so the more modern music. |
as someone who has made several childish and frankly rude comments i don't feel guilty about patronizing you. you are one of those people who does not use their eyes and brains to think but instead blindly meanders through life with no respect for other lifeforms
