I haven't had a Hostess Twinkie in forever, and it looks like I'll never be able to have one again :(

Echo-chan713 11-19-2012 09:31 PM

unless a mexican company buys out hostess because of their cheap sugar cost

Sora 11-19-2012 10:22 PM

I managed to get the very last box of those chocolate cupcakes with the white swirl icing on top from my local grocery store.

Quiet Man Cometh 11-19-2012 11:45 PM

Apparently some companies in Canada already own the rights and trademarks for some Hostess Canada recipes, so we will still have Twinkies, Cupcakes, and Wonderbread at the very least since those companies made them to start with. One of the advantages of international business I suppose, but I can still imagine it not being the same.

Lestrade 11-20-2012 12:55 AM

And now apparently they're in talks again and might not shut down at all.

I usually eat Little Debbies anyway >.>

Quiet Man Cometh 11-20-2012 12:58 AM

Little Debbie apparently makes Swiss Rolls, but they aren't the same as the ones I remember getting as a kid. I can't seem to find those ones. I used to get them at the local gas station corner store.

Yokuutsu 11-20-2012 08:47 PM

Moon Pies are better...and they're made in my state. I SUPPORT...semi LOCAL BUSINESSES XD (Any part of Tennessee is very local compared to China :3)

And Hostess did it to see about the insanity it would cause XD

Lestrade 11-21-2012 01:12 AM

It's funny because it never even occurred to me to like, go stock up on snack cakes. I guess I just don't care enough about them? I hardly ever eat Hostess snacks at all, and I didn't really think about it until recently when people on Facebook were flipping out over it.

Yokuutsu 11-21-2012 01:10 PM

Due to this, I've like become addicted to Moon Pies now (eating my snack cake before they shut down XD If they did, I might just cry. Literally)

I saw that those talks didn't work.

Kind of makes me sad as my wedding cake was a twinkie cake.

Yokuutsu 11-21-2012 01:39 PM

I don't know if that wedding cake is awesome or disgusting. I really don't.

But I probably wouldn't eat it since I hate twinkies...thanks to high school. This one kid bullied me and shit about me being fat saying shit like why don't you eat another twinkie? Bad thing is, he wasn't exactly the right weight either.

Night Fury 11-22-2012 01:13 AM

yeah my mom told me about that she was complaining since it is also in charge of the bread she really likes wonder bread
she stocked up on it some...

I totally have been on a sugar free diet so didn't make any exceptions on eating some... I figure some and my mother think I'm crazy for that
but if I remotely even remember the taste then I'd be wanting to eat as much as mom and my sisters are
will miss it though hope someone can buy or help keep some parts of the company
would be nice to keep them around

Demagische 11-26-2012 05:20 PM

I was never that big a fan of twinkies, but I did like the chocolate cupcakes. :c

Echo-chan713 11-26-2012 05:49 PM

I just went to eBay and amazon for some out of wonder they are being sold at a premium price

Epic Rave Monster 11-27-2012 05:11 AM

Oh.. Yeah. Mom told me about that. I don't really care, cause I don't eat their food. I'm not surprised, though. A lot of businesses have been shutting down.

Kristien 11-30-2012 02:52 PM

I never really liked twinkies, but I've noticed that Little Debbie has tons of stuff just like the Hostess stuff that is gone, now.. so I'm sure eventually all of the twinkies and stuff will just be made by other companies now that Hostess doesn't hold the rights to the exact recipe anymore..
