You got me all excited, Rainy.

I can't wait for one. x3 <3

1. A messenger of love.
Eros, if we mean love of the physical kind.
Cupid, if we mean the cherub of over-priced greeting cards.
Of course, thats only the mystical aspect of a 'Messenger of Love'...

2. Not a rug.
A bear, can be made into a rug, but is not always.
Or perhaps an item involving hair, as a Toupée can be called a rug.

3. Suited for fire.
Wood, it burns well and is suited for fire, or perhaps some kind of armor, if we mean fire in a different sense.

cute kawaii... ~shudder~ I'm sorry but that's overkill by far....

~sigh~ There's a reason I have a difficult time thinking of Kawaii as an actual Japanese word and not something we made up online...

Anyway, I can't wait for silvary's hair myself...

Maybe she want a better life for herself. :] Just because someone ugly doesn't mean that they are bad or anything. It is nature that made them the way they are, I'm sure he will take good care of her. ^ ^ I'm happy for him and for her. She is probably tired of the whole body thing and work her ass off to be able to pay bills and stuff.

It's an actual Japanese word but it has largely the same meaning we attribute to it here. "Kawaii" is a cultural phenomenon and goes a lot deeper than just "looking cute" and goes into a full set of attitudes and expected behaviors. So don't think that Western otaku gave it the definition it has -- no, Western otaku have simply picked up on the visual part of the real definition.

(Now, the word "otaku" on the other hand is considered fairly offensive in Japan -- similar to the idea of "poopsocking" here. It's not something people willingly apply to themselves there.)

Echo-chan713 01-18-2011 01:49 PM

Doesn't otaku mean house in japanese in which some anime people take it to an offense by reffering for them not leave the house at any given moment and have no social life.

Coda 01-18-2011 02:06 PM

You're correct that it means "house" and that when applied to a person it means that they don't leave the house. But it's not "some anime people" and not really "take offense" -- it's intentionally used as an insult and it can be applied to a lot of different things, not just anime.

....I have no idea what they could be...
