Awe. I see pictures of these incredibly giant fat round goldfish and I want one. XD

Reyoki 05-20-2011 09:54 PM

A friend of mine was giving away fish she won at a carnival. I wanted one of the betas so bad, but I don't have a tank to keep one in.

Angel Spirit Girl 05-20-2011 10:04 PM

Now I want to get a beta fish. #.#

Azrael 05-20-2011 10:08 PM

XD Me too! Ugh.

Beta only need about a 2 1/2 gallon tank and don't need a filter or airpump or nothin'. So... yeah.

Reyoki 05-20-2011 10:11 PM

I have another problem with having a fish, though... I have 3 cats >.<

Ashy 05-20-2011 10:13 PM

I have a Betta fish i bought yesterday :P My sister got one too theyre so cute ><

Angel Spirit Girl 05-20-2011 10:16 PM

I want a kitten, too. x.x *Sniff!*

Azrael 05-20-2011 10:18 PM

I have cats, but so long as it has a lid, I don't have a problem with them getting into the bowl. I really want a beta now but I don't know where I'd put it. XD

Gee, 2 and a half gallons is pretty generous. Pet stores sometimes keep them in dixie cups. Clear plastic dixie-cups. Mine lived in a tank that was about the size of two hard cover books side by side. It had a plant and some gravel and that was about it. Course, I was all of 12 or so at the time.

Our fish misadventure would be when one of my cousin's piranha jumped out of it's tank because of a friend's meddling ferret. Said ferret then proceeded to grab the piranha by the tail and pull it under the couch. People are attempting to save the piranha who is snapping at everything within reach while getting their hands clawed at by the ferret who does not want to let go of his fish. Everyone lived.

Azrael 05-20-2011 10:25 PM

XD Ah, i was just saying what I read somewhere online that it should have about two and a half gallons. Although TBH one seems like it'd be perfectly fine...

Reyoki 05-20-2011 10:27 PM

I had a suicidal fish one time... it was kept in an open bowl in the kitchen, and would often jump out of the bowl and into our dog's water bowl... it missed once and died from dehydration because we were out of the house that day.

Ashy 05-20-2011 10:32 PM

and thats why you need a lid ><

Azrael 05-20-2011 10:43 PM

XD Exactly. My goldfish used to jump and hit the lid every so often. LoL I'd hear a thump and be all "wtf?"

And yes Lucid! <3

Lucid: 05-20-2011 10:46 PM

I epic failed at getting him right. XD but he's sketchy so I thought I'd show you anyway.

Zuko just has the huge tank because I've had since I was kid, won it in a raffle thingy. I think that he's happier with more room to swim around. He has a light too that he likes having on.

My friend had one once that did try killing itself a few times. Moved him to a bigger tank and he was happy and he didn't try it again.

Theres a pond up at school that has Koi and some goldfish. People look at me kinda funny when I jump on the rocks to look at them. Oh well. I like looking at the fishies.
