...something like this? I'm not that good of a writer, so you guys can feel free to add/delete/edit/re-write/etc. >.<;

In the 21st century, the old gods of Egypt had been all but forgotten; replaced by human ingenuity and technology. Humans had learned to live without relying on divine intervention. Other gods, those who had been judged unworthy to move on to eternity or had chosen to remain among the humans on Earth, had adapted to the human way of life and embraced the advancement of society. Some had families, lives, while others merely lived by themselves enjoying the serenity of the Earth.

One day, however, the rage of the gods in eternity reached its boiling point; the time for them to assert their authority was upon them. With a vengeance, they made themselves known, destroying many who opposed them. Different areas were destroyed by different catastrophes: coastal areas were inundated by tidal waves; fault-line areas were ripped apart by the moving earth, which led to landslides; hurricanes, tornadoes, and blizzards tormented the rest of the world. With the gods' attacks, much of human technology began to malfunction, keeping the small pockets of survivors relatively isolated from each other.

I think it's perfect, Sei. :'D

Sei 07-24-2010 01:16 PM

Really? :'D That's wonderful. I'll give some time for those interested to finalize, pick a god/dess, and then we can actually start.

So, anyone who is interested: please pick some god/dess that is not the antagonists (listed above); make a profile so you know what you're doing; and let the thread know that you're interested in roleplaying.

Oh, and I am interested and will pick a god soon. :'3

johnny 07-24-2010 01:34 PM

Do you have a profile skeleton you want used?

Sei 07-24-2010 01:39 PM

Do you think we'll need one? o.o

Um... Something to the idea of this:

Username:
God/dess / Demi-God/dess Chosen:
If not, Human Chosen:
Powers / Abilities [Pick one major or two minor | No All-Powerful]:
Bio [Name, location, situation, any other details you want to include]:

johnny 07-24-2010 01:41 PM

Yeah, I think that would probably do. Sometimes people like to make the skeletons so that it includes pretty much every aspect of the character, from height to age to history and appearance. But in all honesty, I think "bio" should do well to cover all that.

EDIT:

Also, aren't some humans going to be in this, too? And demigods?

Sei 07-24-2010 01:44 PM

If people want to. I felt like everyone was leaning to god/dess, though. XD

Edit'd! >.>;

Zypher 07-24-2010 01:56 PM

I used to have an egyptian rp on Ernya..

But not many people went to it.

johnny 07-24-2010 01:57 PM

Sei:

Well, if we're allowed to double up I was going to play one god and one human. Just so there's a better balance or something.

Zypher:

D: That doesn't bode well.

Sei 07-24-2010 02:00 PM

You should join ours, Zypher! :'D

...that's awesome, johnny. I might do that, too. ;3

Zypher 07-24-2010 02:04 PM

Mine was an open Rp where you could bring in your original characters as wanderers if you wanted. SO basically anyone could join, and there were also set classes that you could use if you wanted to. Like some people could be gods, others nobles, some as peasants, or rogues, thieves/ne'er do wells, you could be a priest or a vizer, or pretty much anything on the hierarchy system of Egypt other than the Pharaoh since that's what I played. And you could have up to three characters as well if you decided you no longer had a use for a character, or if you wanted to play more, or just help the rp along.

This was my rp http://www.ernya.com/curses-and-hour...rp-t14552.html

I agree with the 1st half, but the 2nd half I dislike for some reason....
Dunno what... It just doesn't seem right, it lacks telling what there motive was which makes me think "They did this.. Why?" You just need to write the motive where the rage came from, instead of saying "Different areas were destroyed" go into detail in which areas were destroyed or suffered. Like earthquakes in New York, a hurricane in Beverly Hills, ect. I wouldn't say gods attacks caused malfuncation to technology, ignore that because it doesn't make sense.

johnny 07-24-2010 06:41 PM

Okay, how about this, then:

One day, however, the rage of the gods in eternity reached its boiling point. For too long, they had watched as humans continued on without them, forgetting them and their power. The humans had created technology to replace their divinity, knowledge to replace the void of knowledge the gods had left behind. It was time for the gods to assert their authority over the earth once more.

The gods also took their vengeance on the electronics and technology the humans had created to "replace" them. Signals died, communication devices only tuned to static, and the world was cast into a second Dark Age.

(I'm not going to specify cities, really, because it seems enough to know that major areas around the world have been destroyed. Plus I don't feel like looking up major places outside of the US, and picking only cities from the States shows favoritism.)

I understand.. No favoritism, and I love the way you revised it!

Sadrain 07-25-2010 09:51 AM

But it would stretch it out too long. There can be a separate post, describing the current situation on Earth, like small group lives in remains of New York, and such.

I won't play, but I will lurk. C: I am more of plotter than a RPer now.

EDIT: I like what Johhny did. ^^

Illusion 07-28-2010 06:15 AM

No one posted in a while... Perhaps someone should go and setup the RP..
