yeah. i know a lot of people who don't like the things they get will get them covered or changed to something else
save up your money and find a skilled tattoo artist, and get it changed into an angel/bird/thing with meaning for you.

I know, but it still bothered me since I had just gotten the tattoo and all...and my mom thought I should've colored it in and just but dad underneath it....but I liked it and she kind of shot it down and the internet joined her....except being meaner.

Daring Scylla 10-28-2011 03:22 PM

internet is douchebaggery crap. ignore them, because I think it's fine. do you mind me asking why you got it for your dad?

Yokuutsu 10-28-2011 03:25 PM

He passed away a few years back...and I was finally able to get a tattoo for him, but I've never liked big tattoos or anything so I got a small rose for him and his name .-.

_LOST_ 10-28-2011 03:26 PM

i would but it would have too be small and it would be in a didden spot, like the back of my head...............

Daring Scylla 10-28-2011 03:27 PM

it's the meaning that counts not the tattoo. And it looks fine, so why should anyone else care? it sounds like a very private tattoo and its not anyone else's business to shoot it down

Yokuutsu 10-28-2011 03:30 PM

I know, but it still bothered me .-. It's just the way I am .-.

Daring Scylla 10-28-2011 03:36 PM

i know
i get bothered by annoying things i can't change
don't let it bother you, because you'll never please everyone and some people just take pleasure in cutting others down. the people who respect you won't, and I'm one of them.

Possibly Oogy Boogy as well. <3

Ok, I feel you should know this if it's something that's going to be on your skin forever. Tim Burton DID NOT MAKE CORALINE. At all. You know how it says, "from the director of Nightmare before christmas?" Well it IS, but that guy is Henry Selick. Look it up on IMDB if you must, but it's true. Poor guy -never- gets credit for making these because burton's so much more well known. All Burton did for N.B.C. was make a short story laying out the characters and plot. He wasn't on set for more than a couple days! He has almost nothing to do with that movie and 100% nothing to do with Coraline.

If you want to get those characters tattooed, that's awesome, I wouldn't mind doing that myself. But please know the background of them, and now you do :)

I have wanted a tattoo for some time now but never got it done, and then when I got engaged, I promised my parents that I would wait to do it, so now that I'm married, I'll have to put some money aside to get it done. I want to get a dragonfly on my arm, maybe around my wrist or something, I'm still deciding... but I don't want it to be a realistic dragonfly, I kind of want it to be more of an artistic style tatt.

I'm not just getting a tattoo of one because they are pretty though, and I personally don't agree with tattooing yourself just because something is "cool". When you are older and you no longer listen to that band or watch that movie, it wont be relevant to you anymore. I'm getting something that matters to me. I actually have an intense connection with the dragonfly that only very close people know of, so it's a tattoo that would have a lot of meaning to me.

The only pictures I have of my tattoo were when it was brand new. :P
But here I will just link to it because all of the images I have of it are rather huge. xD

It's just a basic green pentacle but eventually I want to either get it a border of vines, or to make it the inside of a dream catcher.

Kali_Namir 11-08-2011 02:15 AM

I'm not going to post pics simply because I don't want others to use one of them, but I've got two tattoos at the moment, both of which are Harry Potter book references. One is the stars from the corners of the pages, and the other is a series of numbers that were important to me.

I am also planing on getting three more, one is my variation of a Dark Mark, another is the phrase "Enter stranger but take heed" with a heart in the back or something like that, and the last is an Alice in Wonderland reference, it's a tea cup with "We're all mad down here" in the steam.
