Can...can I be your protege? D:

Trakadon 03-21-2012 12:51 AM

Sure XD

Your first task is to master the art of one liners.

Or master the art of overly detailed and irrelevant explanations of random events that may or may not have anything to do with what anyone is talking about.

Espy 03-21-2012 12:57 AM

....you've already lost me.

Trakadon 03-21-2012 01:02 AM

Then I have done my job = u= b

Fauxreal 03-21-2012 01:26 AM

You can't be worse than me.

I just hide it well... very well.

Unless you are actually a 14 year old boy. Then ~ maybe...

LOL
But...but...why stop making word jokes? That was pretty good >.<
Oh, wait, off topic isn't allowed here, huh? *sowwy*

Back on topic- when I first met my husband-creature, we hung out with a group of friends off all guys except me and one other female person (she was my friend for a few years before she introduced me to "the gang"). I say "female person" because although she was married to a man, she didn't follow any of the "gender rules" of a "girl". She was having affairs with women, dressed in men's clothing, and kept her hair cropped very short. She had the appearance of what was referred to back then (1999) as "butch".
I, on the other hand, was teased by the gang and called "prissy" because I wore makeup, styled my hair, and liked to wear skirts & fishnet stockings (albeit with stomper boots- but everything above the boots was "girlie").
I played Magic: The Gathering, D&D, collected comics, loved love Star Wars and Star Trek (my first Con was Star Trek in Vegas in '99), was a video game junkie (old school stuff- pre-NES, though I did own and play an NES at the time), and hung out in collectible comic/toy shops- which is where I met my friend who introduced me to the gang. I would say the only major hobby I had that was different from the guys was that I collected Barbies - but one of the guys collected Barbies, as well. Oh, wait... I did do one thing none of the guys did: I loved going clubbing AND pubbing. I was a Dart Bitch (no, really, I have several sets of flights that say "Dart Bitch" on them LOL).

So, even though I was a tomboy, I was called "prissy" because of my appearance. I was slightly offended. Was I wrong for being offended? Should I have taken it as a compliment? Should I have just shrugged it off because I am a heterosexual female?

littl3chocobo 03-21-2012 03:37 AM

i half understand you XD my sex is fixed though my gender actually flip-flops, sometimes i feel distinctly male, sometimes i feel exceptionally female and occasionally, like right now i sort of waver the fine line of ambiguity. i am not sure if at this late date one more 'live and let live' post is really helpful or even needed but all the same, my cowboy shirts lay in the same pile of supposedly clean clothes as my peasant skirts XD

Espy 03-21-2012 10:05 AM

I...uh...there're a few long dress-ish shirts that my mom bought for me that I haven't touched. I mean...I suppose I'll wear them sometime, just not...now.

I guess you can say the "cute" (...or what my friends perceive as cute, although I can tell you now they're utterly mistaken) side of me is the more girly side?

Trakadon 03-21-2012 03:07 PM

o .o...

Espy has a girly side o .O

I think someone got awfully close to dividing by zero

XD

Espy 03-21-2012 08:07 PM

.....Shush, Trak >.> It's not the usual...eh...really girly kind of girly.

Rinni 03-28-2012 10:24 PM

When it comes to gender... well, duno if this is odd or not, but here goes nothin. Somedays, I feel like a girl, and others, I feel like a boy. I really don't put much thought into it, really. Just kinda go with it. It's never really something I really stress over; my family dun care one way or the other, so never had to worry about them getting mad about it.

The way I see it, as long as what you're doing makes you happy and isn't hurting anyone, it shouldn't be looked down upon. Gender roles are just... bah. I never got the reasoning behind them.

(( I'm also physically a girl. Just the mental part that flip-flops. XD ))

That's not odd at all. Plenty of people feel that way. You are not alone =3 Some terms you may want to look up are bigender, genderfluid, genderbending/blending, genderqueer (that's what I am), and genderfuck. That might help you out. I know it helped me discover who I am =3

And even if you don't think any of them fully apply to you, that's okay too. Plenty of people make up their own terms or choose not to even label themselves at all.

Again, what you've described isn't "odd." There are many people who live in the 'inbetween' or the 'grey area' of gender.

Guh, sorry. I like to talk about gender ._.;

Pinkie 03-29-2012 02:25 PM

Oh my....Well for pinkie ever since a young age she was the same as you but different I guess. Al long as I can remember I have wanted to be a male. To the fact that from about the age of ten I started saving to pay for my own sex change. Everything about me screams male. The way I act, dress, speak...my perverted mind hehe....but then I met my bf and things slightly changed.

I am still my crude, weird male looking and dressing female that I have been for many many years now. I got alot of flack from alot of people because of this even from my own parents with my father telling me "Im supposed to have three girls not two and a son" he told me that the day I shaved my head lol.

All I got to say is really just be who you want. I have so many people in my life that are one thing then act like the other lol and I wouldnt change anything about them for the world. I am sure your great and awesome how ever confused you are.

My friend Mat is like that...well I should say was like that until I took him to the gay bar one night...now hes a drag queen at the bar and some times its hard to tell if he is male or female but my love for him will never change.

My advice to you is that yes it may take some time to get used to the fact or to know what you want but when you know and you embrace it dont let anyone change your mind for its what you want!
