Interesting. I tend not to challenge myself with specific items/poses, though I will decline to use certain poses if they are ones I have a habit of using. Like the hair from the Dramatis Personae item, I love that hair! It is very hard not to use it and the same goes for Zephyr's Companion hair, I think that is the name, that I am wearing now. So I will avoid certain things.

Otherwise I have a couple ways I do avatars. One way is that I start with the skin. I look for some color I have not used and see if anything goes with it. If not then I'll switch skins. The other way is to browse for a pose I have not used and try to match it. Idk which way I use more often. I never start with eyes and mouth, those come in the middle. Fine touches come last.

I never cosplay and my avatars have no meaning to them, like I would never make a fairy or a doctor, I am terrible with stuff like that. My whole thing is generally a paucity of colors, a beautiful face and flow and balance.

My avatar ideas are usually more obscure and a mini-story type of character, with depth.

Now I am trying to get my self work with certain colors and simpler color themes, but with more layering. Experimenting with it. I used to be pretty good with it.

Yes, you are good with it. And actually in general I have found that a lot of Trisphee avatars are very complex with layering and unusual and really inspiring even if there are elements I might do in my own style.

Ducky, it may be simple but to me it looks complex. I can see maybe 10 items? But I could be wrong and there could be more or less, that is just a guess. But once you get up to 10 items your avi has probably become complex. I don't know the exact number of complexity but excluding the face maybe 10, maybe less, maybe more. What do you think?

Hm, I don't think it's item count, but the way items are put together and layered that make it look complex. With correct dress, pants, boots, some top or sleeves, you can achieve complex look, but it can look absolutely simple.

Ducky's layering with wings and hair, and tattoos as well as other items make it look rather complex to me, personally. :)

And thank you, Uma! :) You're right, there can be quite a lot of inspiration, but I avoid copying in any way, although I can get inspired by theme, such as pirate or dragon and so on.

Ther's actually 22 layers, and about 16 different items i think. but that's still super simple compared to my usual, in layers, items and colours used.

Alright. Drew something stupid for entertainment purposes, but other than that, all good. How're you, Uma?

My current royal avi is like... close to pure black and white, but I want to scrap it cause it seems so... eh. It looks more like a vampire-related avi rather than something royalty-like. lol I can't seem to find good enough shoes for the avi that has white. And the Ascended Fenrir boots are too long. ;; This is how it looks so far:

I like it, it's a very good avatar and with some tweaks, could be amazing royalty avatar and even like this, it works. :)

Actually I really like it Xun. There are some common boots that might do, I forget the name though. And some event item boots also. However, that being said, there is nothing wrong with black pants and black boots. Many people of past ages would dress the same. Not sure about the scary shadow though is that separate from an item? I love the coat and cravat, wow, nice.

As for me, I am working. I have 8 hours to go. Bleh. And I have stuff to do too besides monkey around with my avi but I do my work fast so sometimes I get gaps where I can be here.

So, you've all seen the royal avi I'm working on. I've currently equipped a more updated version of it. And I want opinions on it. ;; Don't know if white bottoms would do the trick instead. Though, I still think black bottoms are essentially correct. I just can't seem to find bottoms that are good enough. lol ;;

Thank you, though I feel as if there needs to be some kind of decoration. The pumpkin pants in the tokens shop does the trick, but the placement of shorts, pants, shoes, and everything over and under it just doesn't seem to fit it at all. ;; *very picky crais*

just noticed the new jellyfish skins were opaque. So much posibility @_@ this avatar manages to be 16 layers without anything actually extending past the outlines of the base skin :D

Xun, I think the white pants look really great on that avatar. It gives some much-needed separation between the coat and the boots, and provides nice vertical flow with the cravat. I like how the armor meshes nicely with the coat as well. It all looks very fluid and I think you did a nice job.

I agree! It looks very royal and very classy too. I think you nailed it. I just took a look at all the avatars and wow, they are so great. I have a fave in the Reapers and it's not mine, same for the ninjas. I can't wait to see all the royals.
