Yeah, I've gotten a few achievements already. Is there somewhere to use those points, or is that a future development?

We occasionally have events, but staff's been pretty, erm, understaffed lately, so we're still mustering up the manpower needed to host an event.

I will have to check the token shop out, then, see if I have enough for any goodies.

i wanted to ask, what's with the decimal numbers when we get aurum? like i have xxx.62 aurum. what's with the .62 part? XD

My best guess is that post value is figured based on character count, and each character in a post is worth less than 1 aurum, so once it all gets added up, it rarely comes out to a whole number.

Exactly correct. :) I mean, we COULD round it off to a whole-number amount of Aurum, but we figured... hey, why not let you keep the pennies? They add up.

(If you're curious about the math, it's not a linear aurum-per-character calculation; it's a curve that makes it to where a longer post is always worth more aurum than a shorter post but with diminishing returns to make it to where three-page megaposts aren't worth it.)

Adding on to this. We typically have 2 or 3 events a year, Nox which happens around Halloween but do not say it is Halloween or certain people may hit you. The spring event, which changes each year but it typically a story event of some sort. In the summer there is typically a User appreciation event, but this year we had a carnival. They last for about a month each, sometimes more for story events.

Mainly the Marvel movieverse at the moment, with a small sprinkling of Red vs. Blue. I have some stories I haven't updated in months, but I'm so stuck on those it isn't even funny.

as far as fanfiction goes, i write what the voices tell me. no voices, no fic. and there's no rhyme or reason which voices talk to me. heh.

I'm much the same way, which sucks for fans of the stories I'm not often inspired to write. I do my best, but any story that I'm not writing primarily from Tony Stark's point of view is just difficult.

yeah... the characters actually talk to me too. i write what the voices tell me. heh. XD

You get that constant random background chatter like "do you guys mind? You're fictional and I'm trying to write a meta post"?

i don't write too many meta posts. but i have had voices yelling over each other so much that i had to put a fic on hold to write what the louder voices were yelling about!

i have some unfinished fic, and i kinda have the characters in my head sitting at a table sharing drinks and staring awkwardly at each other, but no one's saying anything...

The best part is when characters from different fandoms start fighting with each other. X3

Yeah, ask these guys- even in the threads I frequent on other sites, I rarely post. I'm primarily a lurker. But I'm having fun talking here. That's a big thing for me.

Well, that's a good thing because we have tons of items (and shades of items), so you need some major aurum to get some more good items for your avatar! Even I haven't been able to get all the items. xD

The only thing I really need for my avatar is some nice long hair. I'm fine with her outfit the way it is right now. My aurum will probably pile up for a month or two, and then I'll donate most of it to some random person. As long as I get some interesting conversation out of it, I'm satisfied. ^^

I rarely write anything else, but then, I'm not writing fanfic, but interactive story RP, often set in an interdemensional nexus that I call the Backwater.

In other whichevers, it's COLD here. LOL And I'm getting old enough to be creaky because of it!

FYI, there IS an item in Archaic Antiquities that takes Aurum. It's also a RIG.
