At first Isaac can barely tell that someone is talking to him, then he hears Alice say Faye's name. Slowly the shadows return to him and the vampires that are left ran away from him in fear, calling him a monster and other such things. The humans are afraid they will be next but he doesn't make a move towards them, just leaves them there without even looking at them.
"Sorry, I'm fine. I let my temper get the better of me, though now I'll have more familiars that are vampires I consumed. Seeing them treat the humans like that just really made me angry. I hated myself for killing humans when I fed. And, I might have a bit of a solution in regards to Faye feeding. Twice now she's drank my blood and seems fixated to its taste, though I can't say I'm any better, I can't resist how she tastes either to be honest. All I wanted was for her to be free to experience the world before tying herself to me, and look what's happened. Anyways, take me to this human home, I'll have her come to me with my blood. This way she'll ignore the humans' and drink from me instead. I don't know if she'll come to me easily or not, but my blood should at least lure her to me and we can present her a deer carcass or something if she doesn't want to drink from me. Vampires can drink from animals but its not as good as human blood." He leads the way out, leaving the door open for the humans to escape if they have the courage to do so. Opening the door to the carriage, he bows and lets Alice on first. |
Alice was worried about Isaac. He had acted so recklessly. Even if they were vampires, that was very dangerous for him to do. "You have to go see this witch soon. When Faye comes back as herself again, she would be devastated to learn that you consumed more vampires. Besides, what if she wanted to be with you? Have you ever thought that you were enough for her? I have never been this far into human society before and I have lived for a long time. Maybe not as long as you or my mate, but I have lived longer than a regular human's life span and never once did I ever want anything more than my pack. I was completely happy staying there. Of course when I met Arden things changed, I went to a different pack but I am very much happy staying where I am. And unless you talked to her about this, she may feel the same way. This is the first time I have ever been in human society." She told Isaac. "The way you acted, I'm just going to come out right and say it since I don't think you realized it but...I think that you and Faye are mates. And I think because you rejected her, she's feeling hurt. You might not have said those exact words but if she wanted to stay and you wouldn't let her, you broke her heart, and your own. Usually it's best if mates come together on their own but in your case, I don't think it matters because you rejected her." She told Isaac. She told him which way to go but ended up seeing Faye walking with the family. "There she is!" Alice pointed to her.
|
"I wasn't trying to push her away, I just wanted her to be sure she was getting what she truly wanted. I never did deserve having anyone with me, I've caused so much suffering. And those vampires, I couldn't hold back because I was so mad, and the one was goading me on purpose to try and break who I am." He shakes his head sadly, feeling shamed for what he had done, but knowing he couldn't go back now. When Alice mentions Faye he looks out the window and sees her and the family she's with. "I see why now that she went to them, they remind her of her family, she had a little brother after all, just like I had a little sister." Getting out of the carriage he stands near the front of the carriage, pulling out the letter opener. Without even batting an eyelash he slices open the palm of his hand, then holds it out for Faye to be able to smell. His hopes where that she's come back, though after everything that's happened he's not sure if its possible.
|
Alice moved closer to Isaac and rubbed his back. "Just the mere fact that you have guilt shows you have a conscious and shows that you do deserve someone in your life. You aren't a horrible person, besides, the way she sounded, maybe she deserved death, though by you sucking her blood, I don't think that was very helpful but you probably saved so many humans lives! You probably even saved Faye's if words gets out about her being both. Even in our world that's not normal. How she was able to survive both bites, I don't know but usually the person either dies or whichever one is strongest in their blood, that's the one they turn into." She told Isaac and sighed. She hoped that she was getting through to him.
Faye was walking along side the boy when she began to smell blood. She left the family before they could notice that she was leaving to go find the source of the blood. She then saw the source of the blood coming from the man from before. She cautiously approached the man but when she saw the blood, her eyes zoomed in on it and nothing else. She licked up his blood then bit down with all four of her canines, into his skin to get more of his blood. She wanted to drain him dry but hearing the little boy cry brought her out of it. She whimpered as she heard him and then looked up at Isaac as though she was confused on what to do. Her anger dissipated and instead, she really wanted to be with him but the family wanted her. She didn't know what to do but then hearing the others calling for her by her new name, she left. She took quite the liking to the young boy most likely because she subconsciously felt like the family was much like her own, except her mother wasn't pregnant. Alice looked at Isaac. "I'm getting this bad feeling. I don't understand it but I think forcing her to stay with us will not end up well right now. I will keep an eye on her and take turns with Arden. And I have no doubts that my son will also." She told Isaac. She could see the pain within him. |
He smiles reassuringly at Faye when she looks up at him, he just lets her drink since he's had plenty of blood. Seeing that she wants to go back to the family he lets her, understanding in a way how she feels since he probably would have done the same. Instead he licks the bite on his hand so it heals, "I think I might have a better idea, but I have to test the family first before I can go ahead with that plan. I'm going to warn you now that if this works, they will be under my care with a blood pact just like Amelia. I know Faye is tired of moving anyways, so I was thinking of staying here for a while. It would help having people to help tend the house and there is plenty of room for them."
With that he slowly walks over to the family, greeting them with a bow. "Excuse me, that is a gorgeous canine you have there, I couldn't help but adore her when I saw her. She has a very friendly personality, especially towards your son it seems." |
Alice wasn't so sure of his plan but she wasn't about to stop him if he wanted to do that. She just hoped that all went well. She just hoped he knew what he was doing, otherwise, he would be risking a lot.
The father got in front of his family as a strange looking man approached them. Faye was licking the boy's face as he giggled. He was happy to have her back. "Yes, well, she just came to us. I know she has to have wolf blood in her, she's even bigger than a lot of wolves I have seen but she's a sweetheart and thought keeping her would be best especially while I am away for work. I feel much more comfortable having her watch over my wife and children." He explained. He watched Isaac as he was weary of his actions. "Now, if you will excuse us, we have things we need to do." He stated. The little girl was on top of Faye as though she was riding her like a horse. Faye stared up at Isaac unsure of what to make of him. His blood tasted really good, and taking in his scent, it was really making her crazy. She walked closer to him and sniffed him before licking his hand. She was able to be calm around him now. |
Reaching down he pets Faye's head affectionately, "It must be expensive feeding a large canine such as herself. Oh sorry, I've forgotten to introduce myself, I'm Isaac Crawford, I live just outside of town. I don't get out often, I'm very busy in my lab after all. Though right now I'm in town because I'm looking to hire some help around the house. It's a small house but I can't do much work during the day time sadly, so I'm looking to hire some servants. Do you happen to know anyone who'd be interested in a live-in position? They wouldn't have to worry about food, and since I'm a doctor I can take care of most medical needs. I don't mind children either so if the person has some I don't mind, even if they are a single parent for one reason or another. But I also need someone who is reliable and understand that certain things are to be kept private, one of the reasons why I haven't wanted to hire anyone until now. Though I haven't the slightest clue where to look first or even if there's an office for such things, I don't get out too often as it is. Though I suspect that with the pay and everything else the job will probably have a lot of people applying for it, since a job like that doesn't appear so often since nobles tend to choose their servants from their servants' children."
|
"Greetings Mr. Crawford, I'm Lucien Turner, my wife, Elizabeth, our daughter Bridgette, and our son Emmett." He introduced his family. "Well, you can ask any number of people but by the way it sounds, you want us to take the job. She certainly is big but for my family's protection, we can put her into our budget. We may not be rich by any means but I am too proud of a man to allow my family become servants." He wasn't about to take what he felt was a hand out. His wife on the other hand slapped him. "Hun, what if we stayed there while you're away? You're leaving soon and I'm very afraid of having this baby alone with no one to watch the children, even with Emi. Only when you leave is when we go to live with him so we don't have to worry about anything. It will take a load off of my mind. It should bring you peace knowing that we won't starve and we will have a constant roof over our heads." She explained trying to get her husband to agree. "You're pregnant, you simply cannot work when you're about to give birth any time now!" He wasn't about to have his pregnant wife working. "We will have to decline, my wife isn't about to work while pregnant. There are many others who are pitiful enough to take handouts, ask one of them." He said, refusing the offer.
|
"Well, if its physical labor you're worried about, then that's not really it. There's been some journals I've been meaning to have publishes, but its a scattered mess. All she'd have to do is short the papers, which she could do while sitting. I don't normally leave my lab during the day, so a long as your family doesn't mind making food for themselves its not a hassle for them to stay. The only thing is that the lab is off limits, there are many delicate instruments in there after all. Though now I'm wondering what it is that you do where you have to leave your family? Is it really hard for people to find work around here?" Isaac was willing to be patient, he didn't want to anger the man, he just wanted to at least get them to come to his home so that they could talk. And that would be where he could speak with them in private to see how they would react to him.
"We can talk about it over dinner if you'd like, and if you don't like the offer you can go back to your normal lives. I won't stop you from doing what you think is best, but I'd like for you to at least hear me out. I have no servants in my home so I'd be making the meal myself, thought it won't be much." |
"I'm a fisherman. I go out and catch fish for local shops though it causes me to be away for a very long time." He explained to Isaac. His wife began to urge him to say yes as she kept nudging her head over to Isaac. "Even if I for some reason do have to do some work, I can do it! Besides, I still have to chase after the children so if I have to do a bit of cleaning, I will be fine." She assured him. "Let's just talk with him dear. And maybe you don't even have to go if we stay." She looked up at Lucien just begging him. "We will talk about it. But tell me, why is it that you're interested in us?" He questioned thinking it was weird that a total stranger took a liking to them. Then he wondered if it had anything to do with Emi. He seemed really interested in her.
"My doggie is Emi. My friend moved away so I named the doggie after my friend!" She told Isaac as she hugged Faye tightly. "My daddy fishes a lot but he never ever smells like fish!" She told him. His face turned slightly red. "That's because I don't want to smell like fish Bridgette. Now leave this man alone, the grown ups are talking." He told her. "It's rude for you to be talking to grown ups." He cleared his throat. "So where are we going to continue this discussion?" Lucien questioned. |
He smiles at them, then pets Faye's head, "Because to be willing to accept having what most would consider to be a very intimidating creature shows that you don't judge people based on appearances. Not to mention you are also extremely loyal to your family, I could see that from when I came near." When the little girl tells him about 'Emi' he kneels down in front of her, patting her on the head.
"I hope you can be very good friends with her then like you were with your friend that moved away." Smiling he looks up at Lucien, "And I don't mind children speaking to me, they are a curious bunch after all and that's what I'm all about with my work. Being curious about some kind of health condition and researching it." Standing he dusts his clothes off, "We'd be going back to my home, I have a carriage just over there that we can ride in. Though a friend of mine is currently there, I'll ask if she needs a lift home, so we might make a stop first. After that we can head straight to my home and I can begin making dinner for everyone." |
"Well, to be honest, we were afraid of her but when my son slipped from my hands, she caught him on her back. It's kinda hard to view her as a a beast after that you know? Beasts would usually try to attack, not try to protect. She's a gentle giant." Elizabeth explained. Lucien still didn't like how his daughter had been talking to him. He felt children shouldn't talk to adults. "Fine, let's go then." He told Isaac. He wanted to get this over with.
"Yes of course!" Bridgette smiled at the man. "My daddy doesn't like it when I talk to grown ups because they don't want to listen to little children. He says the grown don't like it when we talk to them because it's just nonsense that comes out of our mouths!" She said to him, finding it quite interesting that an adult didn't mind talking to her. "Do you have any toys? I don't wanna stay unless I have toys to play with Emi!" |
Smiling to them all he walks them back to the carriage, "Well, children learn by imitating those around them from when they are really little and can't speak properly yet. By speaking with them and teaching them new things their minds grow much more quickly and they can discover things for themselves. And as for toys I think there might still be some around, and if not I can probably make some from wood. It's been a while since I've done wood working, I used to make them all the time for my little sister when we were younger." His eyes become sad for a moment, then he shakes his head, trying to keep the mood happy.
"Anyways, let me inquire if my friend would like a ride home. Alice, would you like me to give you a lift home? Or is Arden nearby? I don't want to leave you on your own." He opens the door for the carriage to let the family in. "Oh, if your daughter wishes to she can ride on one of the horses. Just make sure you hold on tightly, if you fall you can get hurt by the horses' hooves. Or you can ride up top where the driver's seat is, and then you can have a view during the whole ride." |
Alice was shocked by the crowd coming into the carriage. But then again, he did say that he was going to get into a blood pact or whatever it was called. "No, Arden went to find our son and head back to the pa...place...of our home..together..." She was about to say pack but she probably made it even weirder with her cover up. "But I can walk back, it won't be much trouble." She told him as she went to get out. She then lifted up the little girl to get on to the horse. "Thank you ma'am!" Bridgette smiled and patted the horse. She was excited to ride on it but like mister Isaac had said, she was going to hold on tightly.
Lucien and Elizabeth walked into the carriage. "Wow, never rode in one of these before! Very fancy!" She smiled looking around. "So you are a scientist? Are you well known?" She asked. "If I knew how to read, I would love to read one of your journals...Oh...I can't read. So I don't know if I can do this job." She was feeling embarrassed by the fact that she couldn't read. She felt so unintelligent. |
"Alright then Alice, I'll speak with you and your husband later then." He bows farewell to her, then climbs into the carriage with everyone else, closing the door. The horses begin pulling slowly, then got into an easy trot back towards the house.
"Well, I have been having copies sent from the medical universities to the shops here in town. But don't worry about the reading part for now, I might be a bit messy with my papers, but I made sure I put the titles on the bottom of each paper. So I can write the titles and you can just match them based on that. Eventually, if you're alright with it, I can have someone teach you and your family to read. I worked hard myself to learn how to read, my family were farmers, and I had a knack for making medicines from plants near our home. That knowledge is what lead me to be able to become a doctor actually." It doesn't take them long to get back to the house, Isaac getting out to get the gate and let the carriage in. Once they are out of the carriage and in the house he sends some familiars to stand guard in the shadows, he didn't want another attack to occur while this family was here. Opening the door to his home he leads them into the sitting room. "I'll be back in a moment, I think there are some wooden horses and sheep your children can play with." Going up to the room he keeps as a show for himself, he opens up a draw, pulling out some old wooden toys that Faye used to play with and brings them down for the children. "I hope you don't mind these old things. Well, let me go get started with dinner, I hope you don't mind steak and salad." Going into the kitchen he puts on an apron and beings chopping up the salad, then when that's finished he begins cooking the steaks. He makes the family's steaks medium well and his medium rare, then sets everything out. "Alright, its finished, you may all come eat." |
This sounded too good to be true. Elizabeth and Lucien just stared at each other in shock as Isaac went to make them dinner. This just sounds too good to be true. Do you really think that this is all for no strings attached? I don't understand, I know he wants servants but he's not really making you do anything. Can we really trust him?" Lucien questioned as he looked at the children who were playing nicely with the toys. Faye stayed right by their sides just watching them. Elizabeth just smiled at her husband. "I don't know if we will end up regretting this decision but I think we should take him up on his offer. You wouldn't have to leave if this is the real deal. Or you can save up enough money to where we can buy a big house and a big yard! What do you think?" She asked looking up into his eyes. Lucien nodded.
When Isaac called for dinner, they got up, Elizabeth went to get the children and sat them down at the table. She cut up her steak finely to where she felt comfortable feeding their son so he wouldn't choke on it. Faye also came in wagging er tail as she looked at all the steaks and her mouth was just watering. She went to Isaac's plate, she preferred his steak than the others. She stared at him and whined as she would dart her eyes to the steak and then back onto Issac. |
Smiling, he cuts his steak in half, feeding the whole piece to Faye, "I'm pretty full from lunch earlier, so I don't mind sharing." Finishing off his half of the steak he also gives Faye the salad, just sitting there watching the family as they ate, getting up and gathering the plates when they are finished.
"Then children can play in the sitting room while we talk, if that's alright with you two. I'd rather it just be you two to hear this first." He waits until they are alone, closing the glass door between the two rooms to make it harder for them to hear, then he looks at the couple with a shame filled face. "I'm terribly sorry, but the job I have is not quite as I described it, I just didn't want to cause some confusion before we actually had a chance to talk about things." "This might be a bit odd, but before I tell you what the job really is I have to ask you something. If you met a person who has never done you harm and was friendly with you, but found out they were some kind of horrible creature that people fear from folklore, would you continue to treat that person the same way if how they treat you never changes? They never bring you or anyone else intentional harm and never intend to?" |
Faye happily ate the steak but when he gave her the salad, she didn't even look at it, she treated it like it didn't exist. Once she was finished, she went over to the children and watched them play after they were finished eating also.
The two looked at each other. They knew this was too good to be true. "So you lied to us? Make us come here under false pretenses and then tell u that you lie and then go on to ask some weird question? I don't know what you're going on about but we just want to live our lives peacefully and as normal as possible. Besides, how can we answer that question if we never been in a situation like that? What's with that weird question anyway?!" Lucien was getting upset mostly because he felt lied to and didn't appreciate it. "Hun, why don't you go get some fresh air." She told him as she gave him a kiss. "If he plans on hurting me, I'm sure Emi can crash through the glass and save me." She giggled as she tried to calm him down. Reluctantly, Lucien left, leaving his wife alone with Isaac. "It sounds to me like you're that person who you were asking about." She stated. "You are a person right? You have feelings and a conscious and a good moral? Well, that's all one needs to be a person no matter who or what they are. My husband on the other hand...I know him and this is beyond his understanding. I may not know how to read but I do know a few things about people. And I also know that anyone can be a monster, even a human. I don't understand why folklore creatures are viewed as being more scary than humans when humans have that same killer instinct. An the scariest part is that we exist. Folklore is folklore, though by how you talk I'm assuming that's incorrect. Just keep it from my husband. He might have accepted Emi but she's an animal, you're...not." She pressed her hand on her stomach as she moaned. "Oh geez little one, that was too hard of a kick." |
Isaac bows his head slightly, but even after Lucien leaves, but he does nod his head in confirmation about her suspicions. He takes a deep breath before continuing, "Well, to be honest its not just me I'm referring to...It's also 'Emi'. The real reason I have the door closed is because there's much more to Emi than meets the eye. The reason why I know this is because until recently I was her guardian, and things have changed for her recently which have been making things complicated between us. And sadly I unintentionally broke her heart and she ran off, but was attacked, now having lost her memories of who she really is." Tears begin streaming down his cheeks as his eyes glow red unconsciously. Being so upset he can't help but show part of what he really is. Taking several breathes he tries to calm himself before he continues on, his eyes turning back to silver.
"I can't tell you the rest until I get you to do something for me. There's a thing my kind can do called a blood pact, all I would need is a drop of your blood, and some of my blood, and the pact will prevent you from telling others that I don't say you can say anything to from learning anything from you. It's more so for Emi's protection than anything else, I don't care if people start hunting me down like I'm some kind of monster, but I don't want Emi to go through that. Besides getting the blood, the only sensation you'll have is a warm tingling feeling. Do you agree to this? If not you'll have to leave my house and I'll have to watch her during the night while those I trust watch her during the day." |
Elizabeth looks at Isaac an then at Emi. She could tell how much he cared and loved her which made her feel sorry for him. She felt like she shouldn't keep Emi despite the fact that her children had already fell in love with her. She noticed the change of color and was taken aback. It was rather frightening to see, it was abnormal and it would take time for her to get used to him doing that, if he did that often. She smiled at him and wiped his tear away. "So this blood pact...before I fully agree, what exactly does it entail? What will happen if I tell someone about you? And is there anything to it? Do I give blood or anything afterwards? Or will it just be me unable to talk about you and Emi? And will it affect the little one in here?" She asked him rubbing her stomach. "I hope you don't mind if I put my feet up, they are swollen." She told him as she placed her feet on a chair. Even though she wanted to take off her socks and shoes, she wasn't about to be that improper. "And as far as my husband's concerned, do not tell him. This will have to be a secret between you and me. And I don't want the children to know either." She told him. "Not unless there's no other choice."
|
"Ah, thank you. I'd just mix your blood with mine and you stick you hand in the mixture, you'll then feel the sensation I mentioned before. And all it will do is make it so you can't say anything, it would be like you want to say something but then the words escape you and you don't remember trying to say them. As for the children, they don't really know anything so that's not a problem, and if you're husband doesn't know then its not a problem either." He grabs a chair for her and places it so she can place her feet comfortably. "And I won't need to do anything with you after that. I just hope that if I cut my hand first Emi won't notice your blood, but she'll definitely notice mine."
Once he's got her confirmation about the blood pact he makes a small bowl form from the shadows. Getting out the letter opener he makes a cut in the palm of his hand, letting his blood drip into the bowl. Next he gently presses the point to the tip of Elizabeth's finger, enough so a drop forms and touches the drop to the blood in the bowl. When her fingers touch the blood it looks like its being soaked into her skin and makes her hand tingle, then its over. "Alright, now I can continue. Emi is not a wolf, but rather a human who's recently been turned into an unusual combination of werewolf and vampire. A young werewolf thought she was his fated mate and bite her to turn her, and I gave her my blood to turn her into a vampire because when I saw her bleeding I panicked and wanted to save her by turning her. Her real name is Faye and I've watched over her for about fifteen years now, and she's a really sweet girl, and I'm ashamed of myself for having hurt her like I did. Anyways, as you probably suspect now, I am a vampire, and nearly five hundred years old. Hence the reason why my eyes turned red earlier and startled you, our eyes will glow red when we're emotional or hungry for blood. And I'll tell you now, I have no interest in drinking the blood of any of your family members. And as for Emi as long as I can give her my blood when I wake and before I sleep she shouldn't be drawn to the blood of your family either. The other reason why I want you here is for your family's protection since the person who attacked Emi is still around, and living where you do would be very dangerous for your family. At least here I can have my familiars watch during the day, you won't seem them because they are in the shadows. Lastly, even though my lab is off limits to your family, it is not off limits to Emi, she'll need to probably rest during the day for part of the day. If she seems tired and not interested and just wants to sleep, tell her to go to the lab in the cellar, my familiars will not stop her from entering." "Now, there's actually something I need to begin working on, so I'll be in the garden doing some carpentry. If you or your family need anything let me know. You and your husband can have my room on the second floor, I have no real need for it. You're children can sleep in the spare bedroom, however please do not use Faye's room, I don't know when she'll regain her memories or if she ever will..." With that he bows and opens the doors, leaving Elizabeth to talk with her husband while he begins cutting wood to make a coffin bed for when he can be back with Faye again. The design is similar to a canopy bed but allows the top to be lowered down to make a coffin. |
Elizabeth just sat there rather in shock about everything she heard. There was a lot more to the world than she realized. She looked at her children and smiled as they played with Faye. She would have to tell them her real name. She stared at her hand that she had pricked for the blood pact and just shook her head. How did this all happen? Well, it all happened since they decided to adopt Faye but what strange turns of events this was. After rubbing out her sore feet for a few minutes, she walked to her children and sat down on the couch to watch them play. "Hey, this isn't Emi anymore, her real name is Faye. The nice man who brought us here, well, he's very fond of Faye and doesn't want anything to happen to her. So you have to take good care of her ok?" She smiled. "Ok mommy!" Bridgette smiled then went to play with her brother who didn't stop playing. Faye got up and walked out as her husband came back inside. She went around to the garden to see Isaac.
Lucien sat down beside his wife and took off her shoes so that he could rub her feet. He didn't care if it was inappropriate or not, he was rather upset with the guy. "So what are we doing?" He asked. "Well, I want to stay. He sounds weird but he's just a very lonely man. And really, Emi, who's real name is Faye, is his pet. He really loves her though but can tell that the children love her. And since we aren't rich, he thought that having us here would be best for both of us. He won't be lonely and we can have Faye without a huge bill to pay for food and supplies." She told her husband. The baby began kicking some more which caused her great discomfort. "Besides, I already know you'e going to leave no matter what. If we stay here, there's someone to watch over me." She smiled and kissed him. |
Isaac works for several hours, getting the base and posts done for the new bed. It's simple in design, but would serve its purpose. The only thing left would be to get a nice mattress for it, only really needing to be comfortable to lay on. He'd go into town tomorrow and get one, along with some pillows and be spreads for the new bed. Looking up he sees Faye in the garden with him.
"I'm surprised you're not with the children playing, you're very fond of them. Kind of makes me wish to have kids as well." A gently smile spreads across his face, then he picks up the base, carrying it with ease down into the basement. The bed was made to hold three people about Isaac's size across, which would be plenty of room for both him and Faye if she decided to come back to him. He let's Faye follow him into the lab, then closes the door behind him, opening the door to his real room, and leans the base against the wall. Then he drags the coffin he normally sleeps in to the opposite side of the room since he'll still use it for a bit until the new bed was finished. Next he brings down the posts, also carrying those with ease, then sets the bed up. Wiping sweat from his head he goes upstairs to take a quick bath before going to bed. He's been petting Faye on and off while she follows him, but once he's done with his bath he goes back out to the garden with her, using the letter opener to cut his hand open again since dawn was quickly approaching. "I hope you will be alright with this for the time being until I can get up in the late afternoon. Take good care of all of them, alright? I'll have my familiars follow you and them around as extra protection, and since some of them are vampires it should keep the one who attacked you at bay for a while and protect Elizabeth and her family. I wonder if they have thought of a name for the baby girl...wait, they probably don't realize its a girl yet, so I guess I'll have to keep that a secret as best I can." Kissing her head and giving her one last pet he heads back into the lab and goes to bed in the coffin by himself, crying in his sleep. |
Faye watched Isaac work and wagged her tail every time he showed her affection. Seeing the blood, she began to lick his hand of the blood. She wanted more but it seemed like she wasn't going to get more. She went back in with him and once he left, she went to play with the children again. She watched over them for as long as she could before finally nodding off to sleep. The children had fallen asleep with her. In fact, even Elizabeth fell asleep on the couch. Lucien picked up his children and placed them in the spare bedroom where Isaac said to put them and then carried his pregnant wife to their own room. He wasn't surprised that they were all tired from everything that's going on but he was curious as to why Faye was tired. She hadn't done much. Since he was the only one awake, he began to look throughout the home. There were evidence that a child had lived here before. He wondered what happened to her. Maybe shes the reason why he went out to seek for someone with children because he missed his daughter or something.

As the sun rose higher and higher in the sky, Isaac's sleep was restless, worried about Faye and the direction everything is going in. His chest was hurting again, his heart yearning for Faye to be with him, but knew there was no way she would come here on her own unless it was to escape the sun. Though he wasn't sure either if she'd change back into her human form or not either. Finally he wakes up, just laying there as its almost noon.
Sighing, he gets up and starts making a list of things he'll need to finish the bed. He had already put a finish and all on it, along with sanding but he needed a specific kind of mattress and just hoped the town has it. He also begins looking over his notes since he can't sleep, not bothering to light a candle or anything since he can see in the dark. Though by the time it was noon he felt pretty worn out from lack of sleep and tried to take a nap at the table. |
Faye still hadn't turned back human even after the sun came up, She woke up just a few hours into her sleep and looked around. She din't see the children. Her stomach growled from hunger so she went into the kitchen and went through everything that she could smell food in. She was making a mess, glasses and plate fell and shattered as flour and other things fell and dusted everything, including her and with black fur, it was very visible. She busted open other things in her search for food but she couldn't find anything. So she went to see Isaac. Despite the darkness, her eyes were well adjusted and she saw him, she placed her head on his lap and sat down. She whined as her stomach growled hoping to get Isaac to feed her. Gripping onto his clothing with her teeth, she tried to pull him out of the chair to get her something to eat.
Elizabeth woke up to all the noise going on and when she walked into the kitchen, she was rather shocked to see someone or something came in and destroyed the place. Seeing paws, she had a good guess as to who it was. That very same someone would need a bath from how much flour she saw all around. Getting the broom and dust pan and began to sweep. |
Feeling something being placed in his lap, Isaac opens his eyes, looking around partly in a daze. Then he notices Faye's head in his lap, chuckling softly as he hears her stomach growling, "Here, just bite down on my hand, I'm too tired to get up to find something to cut it with." Holding out one hand to her he pets her head with the other. Being in the state she's in, he's not sure if she can understand what he's saying, but with her still in wolf form it only means that she probably won't turn back into her human like form until the new moon has passed. So things will have to be this way for a while, he's just not sure how he'll explain to her when she changes back and doesn't have any of her memories.
After all the blood she's been drinking he's finally starting to get to the point where he'd have to get some blood after feeding her once more after getting some sleep. He scratched her behind the ear, "Do you want to go back up to where the children are, or do you want to rest with me down here? It's nice and cool down here, not sure if you want to cuddle though." |
Faye let out a sigh of defeat. She felt it was best just to give up. She stared up at him. Unaware of her size, she struggled to climb up onto his lap and stared him in the face before she licked him wagging her tail. There was a knock on the front door and then it opened. Someone was walking inside but then called out for Isaac. Faye perked up her ears as she realized who it was. Alice kept on calling out to Isaac with excitement in her voice. Faye again tried to pull him up out of his seat to at least go and greet Alice. The mother and her children had came down once they were all awake. When Elizabeth saw Alice, she wondered if she was any different of if she was human. Excuse me but a-are you by chance a vampire or werewolf?" She asked. She didn't forget the words so this she wouldn't be able to spell his secret but then again, she never said Isaac was a vampire so that must be why she didn't forget. This was a strange for her to be asking and it would take some time getting used to. Smiling, Alice nodded. "Yes, I'm a werewolf. I live in a whole werewolf pack that lives deep into the forest. I'm actually the leader along with my mate."
Elizabeth was taking in everything. It was really hard to believe that werewolves and vampires existed in this world. "Wow, that's amazing. You're a leader? So what exactly is it that you and your...mate? do?" She asked. "And what exactly is a mate? Is it like a soulmate?" She questioned. "Well, we make sure that our pack members are safe. We discipline anyone who breaks our rules to keep us a secret from humans and other rules, like killing humans. And mates are two people who are fated to be together. The moon goddess, Luna, chooses who we are to be with."She explained. |
"I guess you're tired too, I'll get as much of you in my lap as I can, you are pretty big after all." When Faye tries to pull him up though, he realizes someone upstairs must be calling out to him. "Alright, I'll get up, but I can't guarantee I can go all the way up there." Struggling, he stands, really tired and stumbling about, he gradually makes his way to the stairs. Stopping he takes a bit of a breather then begins to climb the stairs, stopping again to rest at the top. Once he's got his breath back he leans on the wall as he makes his way up, seeing that the sun was still pretty high in the sky.
"I think whoever was calling me forgets that I'm not really good with the light and all." Laughing nervously he makes it to the kitchen, then plops down in a chair at the table there. "Too bloody tired to go any further, and I didn't sleep well either. I wonder who it is anyways..." His head flops onto his arms that he has folded on the table, a dizzy spell having hit him. |
Once Alice hears and smells Isaac in the other room, she excused herself and got up to go into the kitchen and smiled at him excitedly. "So, I have some good news that couldn't wait any longer, otherwise I would have waited until tonight to tell you and to give you this!" She handed over a small vile filled with a dark green substance. "This might just be what can bring Faye back, mentally of course. It's something that my pack has been working on for quite some time now and hopefully, if it works, it will help revive her mental state. Again, this is purely experimental so we don't know any side effects. We don't really have a subject to test it on so Faye will be our first subject with your help." She told him. She looked very excited and had a lot of faith on this product and hoped that Isaac would allow her to use it on her. "I know you miss Faye and this is by far the best shot you have at getting her back early than if you wait for her head to heal and for her to remember who she is and what she is." She offered.
Faye watched Alice and saw her excitement which seemed rather infectious as she got excited along side with her even though she was clueless about what was being talked about. She was the vile and looked at it curiously before looking at Isaac and then placing her head on his lap again. |
In shock, Isaac just stares at the vile for a moment, so many thoughts running through his head. Did he deserve to have Faye back? But even if he didn't she deserved to remember who she was. He takes the vial from Alice and stares at it for a moment, then gets up and grabs a small bowl.
"Make sure the children don't see this, I don't want them to become scared." He grabs a knife as well, then sits back down at the table, pausing in hesitation before using the knife to cut his hand open. The blood drips into the bowl, creating a pool big enough to get a couple mouthfuls. Pulling the cork out with his teeth he pours the mixture into the bowl, stirring it with his bleeding hand. Worn out he places the bowl on the ground for Faye to drink from. Once he sees that Faye is drinking the mixture he leans back in the chair, his eyes close shut and his breathing becomes a bit labored. He used up most of his blood that he has left in order to mix the medicine with it so Faye would drink it. Blood continues to drip from his hand, being too tired to lick the wound to heal it, hoping that this would help Faye. |
Alice checked to make sure that everyone was in the sitting room and then shut the door and stood there so no one was able to come in. Being a werewolf, she was rather strong despite her slender figure. Seeing him cut himself, she was shocked about how much blood he had coming out of his hand and into the bowl with the contents of the vile inside of it. She was worried about Isaac afterwards, he didn't even heal himself. Has he gone mad? "Are you an idiot or what? Are you going to let yourself become weak and allow Lilith to take over you? She will kill me, she will kill those humans, and most importantly, she will kill Faye. You cannot be irresponsible when you have innocent lives on the line because you brought them into our world." Going over to him, she raised up his hand and placed it right on his mouth so that he could lick his wound without any effort. "Now, close your wound! Once you do that, feed off of me before Lilith comes out." She stated. She was basically forcing him to, she even used her claw like fingernails to puncture her skin to have blood come out to entice him, hoping that would work. "I'm sorry for waking you up during the day, I know I'm partially to blame but I really wanted to give this to you since I know how much you miss her." She said sullenly.
Faye began to lap up the mixture happily as she felt enticed to. She couldn't control herself, she wanted more and more but when it was gone, she smelled the blood coming from Isaac. She walked over to him and licked the dripping blood from his arm but that wasn't good enough. Alice tried her best to keep Faye at bay but it was hard keeping his hand up to his mouth while trying to keep a massive wolf from toppling over him and drinking his body dry. But she finally quit as she began to get dizzy. She stumbled around until she finally falls to the floor, laying there unconscious. |
"Sorry Alice, didn't mean to worry you." Slowly he licks his wound until its healed, but shakes his head when Alice tries to entice him with her blood, his eyes glowing red from the smell. "Lilith can only do that when I'm emotionally weak, not when I'm physically weak. That's why she's always throwing insults at me, trying to make me mad, which is why I tend to ignore her. I just need to rest is all, I'll be fine..." His breathing is still shallow, but he doesn't seem to be in any danger. Weakly reaching out with his hand he feels for Faye, grabbing hold of a tuft of her fur, not wanting to be separated from her even though it was a bit painful for him to be up here at this time of day with so little blood.
While waiting and hoping that Faye wakes up soon to see if the medicine worked he coughs some, this time it being more ragged than the first time he had done it. Then he begins to breath a bit easier bit its still easy to tell that his breathing is labored. Soon he's in a half sleep state, a restless sleep. |
Alice sighed. She wasn't about to take no for an answer so she let the blood drip onto his mouth with hopes that he would get some blood into his system. "Let me take you back to bed since you're really weak. I will even place Faye down there so when she wakes up, you will know." She offered. She didn't mind helping in any way that she could. She's grown to like Faye and Isaac and hoped that they would overcome their fight. But before she could help anyone, Faye began to stir awake, she fluttered her eyes open and saw Isaac and Alice. She was still stuck as a wolf though and as she tried to manipulate her body into turning into her human form but was finding increasingly hard to downright impossible at the moment. "ISAAC!" Alice called out to him. "S-she's back!"
Faye looked up at everyone with a confused look on her face since she didn't understand what was happening. Memories began to flash in her mind about what happened to her. She growled as she became more and more angry and as she went to talk she could only bark which upset her even more since she couldn't talk which just upset her more than anything. |
His eyes fly open as he weakly sits up, reaching for Faye, "Easy, I have no idea if that medicine worked or not. Please calm down, we can figure out a way to communicate with you. I'm just too tired to think right now." Wanting to hold her he had forced himself up, walking towards her. But because of his lack of strength he soon collapsed to the floor, breathing heavily once more.
"Faye, I'm so sorry, it's my fault all of this happened." Tears stream down his eyes which were glowing ruby red as he looked at Faye. After a moment he slips into unconsciousness, still crying even while asleep. His skin is paler than normal, having given blood to mix with the medicine to get Faye to drink it. |
Faye felt her heart falter from anger to worry when she saw her guardian fall onto the floor. He might have been the biggest idiot in the room right now. She just hoped that he would be alright. Despite wanting to leave, well not really wanting it was more like she felt unwanted, she stayed with him until she knew that he was going to be alright, then she would leave.
Alice rushed to Isaac's aid as she cut her wrist so that a lot of blood would poor out into his mouth after she opened it for him. She made sure that every drop went into his mouth as she hoped that he would be alright, especially for Faye's sake who looked worried sick about Isaac. "He wouldn't drink my blood even though I offered. I wish he would have listened to me. She lowered her gaze feeling like she was partially to blame for this. After giving him what she thought would be enough blood, she picked him up and went to place him into the coffin. Faye didn't leave his side, she wanted to make sure that she would be fine. "Hey, he will be alright, I promise." Alice reassured Faye as she petted her head. "Even if I have to hunt down a human myself, I will do what must be done in order to help him." |
Reluctantly, Isaac drinks the blood since once its in his mouth he can't help it since instinct kicks in. While in his slumbers, he tosses and turns some, mumbling something about finishing a bed and hoping Faye will be alright. Eventually he stops fidgeting, falling into a more peaceful sleep. When the sun has completely set Isaac finally stirs, opening his eyes, looking around in his half slumbering state. Seeing Faye he smiles lovingly at her, "You're alright my love, I've missed you so much it hurt." Awkwardly he tries to get out of the coffin, still half asleep, grabbing hold of Faye in an embrace, nuzzling his face in her fur. His eyes glow a ruby red, the edges of his iris flicked with molten gold.
Being unable to control himself, he takes a deep breath to take in her scent, then bites her chest, near her heart, drinking a few mouthfuls of her blood. Licking where he's bitten her, he doesn't let go, instead he looks at her, blushing a bit. "I'm making a new coffin...big enough for two people..." then he buries his face back into her fur in embarrassment. |
Faye just watched Isaac as he slept. Alice was right there just to make sure that he would be alright, she could tell that Faye was really worried and didn't want to leave her alone without having someone who was able to help. As he finally began to awake, she was glad to see that he was fine. Faye didn't understand why he would miss her when it was him who told her to leave. She just stared into his eyes as she noticed the golden color on the edges of his iris. They looked really pretty. As he embraced her, she was rather shocked, it was just rather weird how he was singing a different tune. Her heart was melting with each passing minute. She would be lying if she said that she didn't miss him and didn't want this. She wanted exactly this, she wanted so much. Flinching at the sudden bite, Faye let him have his fill and loved every second of it because it just felt so good. No words could accurately describe it. Her tail wagged as he told her about the coffin for two. The excitement she felt, the happiness, she really didn't want to leave but a part of her feared that this was all just him dreaming and that when he's fully awake, he would take it all back and force her to leave.
|
"I'm a fool and have been for years, I've loved you dearly since you were little, but I had thought it was because you looked like my little sister from ages ago. I was afraid that you'd tire of me and leave me anyways, so I wanted to make what I thought was the inevitable easier for you by not tying you to me. Now though I realize how idiotic that was, because as soon as you ran out the pain I felt in my chest with how hurt I had made you was crippling. I had gotten so upset from you leaving that Lilith started draining my energy way, and that wouldn't be possible unless I was broken emotionally. Then when you were attacked, I smelt your blood even though no one else could, and went into a frenzy looking for you. I don't ever want you to leave me Faye, not as long as I still draw breath..." He nuzzles his face into her fur, enjoying how soft and silky it feels.
|
Does her ears deceive her? Was Isaac really saying all those things and not just because he was half asleep or something like that? Her heart felt so much love and happiness as Isaac confessed all those things to her. She wanted to be with him and stay with him just as much as he did as so long as everything was true. Faye wagged her tail happily as she felt Issac nuzzling into her fur. Alice looked like she was about to cry teas of joy for Faye. "Oh! That's just so sweet! I should go now. If you need anything, let me know." She told Issac and then left, leaving the two lovebirds alone together. Faye wanted to be human soon so that she could talk to Isaac, tell him about her own feelings but she had to settle for just showing her affection and just nuzzling him back but it just wasn't the same as telling him how much she loved him. That would be so great right now to tell Isaac that.
