trystan830 08-26-2019 08:59 PM

wow, i missed a chatting thread! hey everyone!

Stabbsworth 08-27-2019 11:27 AM

howdy, trystan! you doing good?

trystan830 08-27-2019 11:38 AM

hey void! i'm doing well for the most part. doing the "slightly annoyed with the hubby" because he never tells me changes in his schedule until after the fact, and then gets all annoyed at me. normally he works 9:30-6, but sometimes he goes in early. but sometimes he also gets up early (like 6 a.m.) and his brain turns on and won't turn off, so he'll go out into one of the other rooms, put on the weather channel, and end up falling asleep again. which is what i thought happened today. nope, he's working today from 8-4:30.

and the kicker is he had the perfect chance last night to tell me he was going in early today.... our older daughter was home last night because she'd off in another direction today, so she was home, and she says "i'll see you in the morning" to him... but he knows she'll be leaving at like 10ish a.m., and if he was going in at 9:30, he'd be leaving at 8:50. but he doesn't say a word like "no, you won't, i'm going in early."

usually we get ready in the morning together, so i can ask if he'll be home for dinner - which is also my way of finding out if he's going out that night, go-karting or whatever, because he doesn't tell me that either, like it's none of my business.

(on the flip side though, if i tell him i'm going out somewhere, he's all "okaaaay...." like he doesn't really care. i'm married for almost 25 years, and i still can't figure him out. i've mentioned it a time or five, and he just shrugs and says that's how he is.)

anyway, sorry about all that... and thanks for letting me rant. XD

Stabbsworth 08-27-2019 11:51 AM

you should probably bring it up to him and say how it makes you feel, see if you can't come to a compromise or get him to tell you schedule changes, y'know?

also, no worries. i like hearing abt people's days.

trystan830 08-27-2019 12:13 PM

i mean, i have mentioned it before. and he always says that's just how he is. usually i just ask him that day. and sometimes when he gets out of bed, i'm awake enough to ask if he couldn't sleep, and if he's going in early he tells me then. he's an "in the moment" guy, so i play along with that. but i was only awake enough to feel a shift in the bed, so i had no idea until i got up.

also, younger daughter posted a story on her instagram that my main insta couldn't see but my finsta could. it wasn't anything bad, i'm just curious why, is all. i might ask her about it, i might not.

heh, cool.

Stabbsworth 08-27-2019 12:18 PM

i don't really bother with instagram, too many art reposters + stolen content.

mum sent me an emoji from her phone but it doesn't display correctly (box with an x).

trystan830 08-27-2019 12:28 PM

eh, fair enough.

i get emojis that look like skinny boxes sometimes. i can't see those on my phone - it's usually from a new phone than mine

Stabbsworth 08-27-2019 12:28 PM

yeah. mum has an iphone, so it might also be OS differences.

trystan830 08-27-2019 12:32 PM

so younger daughter has an iphone 7, i have a galaxy S6, older daughter has a galaxy S7, hubby has a galaxy S10. and a friend of mine has a galaxy J-something or other. only my friend and hubby have send emojis i can't see. LOL

Stabbsworth 08-27-2019 07:24 PM

huh. then again, i have a galaxy S5, which is probably considered fairly old by people's standards, but it works well enough other than a bit of a fucky screen.

trystan830 08-27-2019 07:28 PM

pretty sure i got my S6 in january of 2016, so that's pretty old for a cell phone!

Biomecha 08-27-2019 07:43 PM

Still using my S5 from 2014, as well. I'll miss the removable battery feature, along with other things.

mdom 08-27-2019 08:35 PM

I get boxes on my computer sometimes xD

Stabbsworth 08-28-2019 09:19 AM

batteries should genuinely be removeable bc, y'know, they can fucking blow up if given certain circumstances.

Panda 08-28-2019 10:40 AM

trystan830 08-28-2019 11:18 AM

trystan830 08-28-2019 01:04 PM
