Oh dear, that's not good. Let me see if I can reproduce that.

Can you describe the issue you're having?

Stabbsworth 10-12-2020 02:53 PM

using firefox, are the closet slots saved in cookies? -- that might be an issue if people are using the, uh. several privacy options that firefox has built-in.

can't quite remember which ones i'm using or how to make an exception.

Tohopekaliga 10-12-2020 03:37 PM

No, closet slots are saved on the server. I use cookies to save preference options (so that you can use different things on, say, your phone). Fairly certain that isn't blocked by Firefox's privacy stuff, though. If they did, Firefox would break most of the internet.

Also, I primarily use Firefox, so that's what I test with most of the time.

Stabbsworth 10-13-2020 02:04 PM

hm. yeah, that makes sense as to why only preferences stuff would be saved in a cookie.

i'm not too sure what could be causing it, given that i tried to save a different avatar a few days ago.

mind you, i could be selecting the wrong options.

quick edit: it works, it just doesn't show anything for some reason -- probably due to the amount of items that are in that avatar that i saved. lord.

Tohopekaliga 10-13-2020 02:18 PM

Oh! Yes, that could be an issue. I hadn't thought about that.

You are saving many thousands of items, after all. The saved avatar that shows up on the top of the page is a single image, but in the editor, it collects every individual item and piles them on. The closet previews are, effectively, exactly the same as the main editor avatar. Just...different data.

So, the closet just stays blank when you try to save?

Stabbsworth 10-13-2020 02:21 PM

yeah, seems to do that. i'm testing it out with the current avatar rather than having a metric crap tonne of items on.

edit: of note, equipping an avatar causes some weird behaviour. i'll grab a screenshot.

Tohopekaliga 10-13-2020 02:23 PM

Screenshots are very helpful, yeah. :)

here we go.

first image is after clicking off of the avatar editor, it'll stay on-screen and be able to be interacted with.

Tohopekaliga 10-13-2020 02:36 PM

Hmm... yeah, that shouldn't do that. I'll look into it.

Stabbsworth 10-13-2020 02:41 PM

(thumbsup)

would give a better response than just (thumbsup) but not sure what else to say.

Tohopekaliga 10-13-2020 03:17 PM

lol, all good.

I'll also see if I can cook up a good solution to the "omg too many items in the closet" issue. But that one...well, it may be that browser crash you were hunting for, lol.
