In my school it's soda, but still have Gatorade which has the equal amount of sugar than soda.

My High School was and still is an expensive school, such as their lunches they portion control the foods so you would have to buy more of it which the average toal for lunch is like $5

Before moving to Colorado the lunches in New York were so good, no name brand foods other than lays (which were 75 cents compared to Colorado 1.25 for the same chips) and they give you loads of food for $1.25 for the whole thing

Such as, in New York you would get an entree, 2 sides and a pint of milk for $1.25

Colorado, their al carte or the main dishes no deals all seperate and I would spend about $3 to $5. Rip-offs and they make them small.

Yommy 01-08-2011 09:51 PM

Wow, I'm in South Carolina an my kids lunches are small but costly.
An I don't see why they are trying to ban chocolate milk either seeing as some kids will not drink anything else. An god forbid a kid wants a cup of water instead of milk. They charge a child extra for water an if they do cut out the flavored milks here it's not helping seeing as if a kid has the money they can buy a soda out side the cafeteria.

I am the worst person to talk to about losing weight, since I am about 6'0 and I weigh about 150 pounds, and that is the most I've ever weighed. I've never really lost weight since I never really gained much in the first place. My metabolism is naturally kind of high...

But the truth is, anyone can lose weight. IT'S ALL A MATTER OF WILLPOWER!!! (Yes, I did just quote Jim Carrey.)

and plus your weight isn't all that bad, really. I mean, I guess losing a few pounds wouldn't kill ya, but neither would staying the weight you are now. If I were you, I wouldn't worry about it.

Silverbleed 01-09-2011 07:06 AM

@Echo; Eating at school is so damn expensive. For a sandwich we pay 2,50 euro. Thats 3,20 USD.
For a whole meal (there are students that have to work straight from school so they eat at school) we pay about 7 euro (9 USD).
And then imagine - usually there's 18% extra money charged over food. However, our own students are preparing it (we have a bakery, restaurants and shops) so the extra 18% isn't allowed. Thank god, or else it would've been even more expensive =(

Just the price already stops me from buying anything XD

However I know someone who buys those sandwiches every day. I saw her doubling in weight.

ATorridLoveAffair 01-09-2011 09:41 AM

I love my WiiFit, I just don't have to time to do it
I've got an 8 month old so it's hard to find time to exercise and lose this baby weight or even to be able to make a healthy meal for myself. :l

Silverbleed 01-09-2011 10:16 AM

Ah yes having a baby is one of those times that's the hardest to think of your weight. But I'm sure the time will come you'll be able to work on your body a little =) And oh well what I sometimes do before sleeping while I didn't do anything all day I just run at one place for a few minutes. It's at least something xD
I go by bike to school every day and I can notice the huge difference of only 20 min biking whenever I got a week off.

Belial 01-09-2011 12:32 PM

Sometimes being thin is entirely separate from being happy.

That being said, just get more active. Dance for no reason sometimes, have a pillow fight with someone and take a walk to admire the seasons and the beauty people are in too much of a hurry to see. If you have a pet play with the pet a lot.

I never worry about my weight, 120 pounds with a little pudge on my belly doesn't bother me. We don't all have to be rail think but we SHOULD all be happy with our bodies. I'm sure you will find something that works for you.

This post is a repeat.

I was just better off to go to King Soopers or any big named supermarket (not Wal-Mary) and get a big salad that has meat and veggies (dressing's free) for like $4

Agent Night 01-09-2011 03:01 PM

What I've found works for me (diet wise) is a combination of cutting out sugar and portion control. Most people tend to overeat because they don't know the proper portions of packaged food (for instance, the portion of bread for most loaves is 1 slice). Also, trying to ensure that I eat at least five serving of fruits/vegetables a day really helps.

As for exercise, it doesn't need to be anything extreme like weight-lifting and so on; that kind of exercise is more for toning and doesn't burn fat all that fast. All you need is to do something aerobic; anything that gets your heart rate up. This can be anything from simply walking around the block every day to WiiFit or joining a pilates class.

But most important, it's about what works best for YOU. Everybody's body is different and functions in different ways. Try a few different methods and see what helps you the most

princeofrose 01-09-2011 03:09 PM

I LOVE DDR-used to play it all the time but I am really lazy so......
YOu can get dance central too. Dance central is really good because you move your whole body. You can also go to the gym, or try swimming. Swimming helps or you can always take dance classes-you can buy tapes in the library for super cheap. like VCRS lol XD

Coda 01-09-2011 05:04 PM

Wii Fit is a lot more interesting than you might think by just looking at it. In particular the aerobics and balance games are actually pretty fun, and the yoga stuff is quite well presented and relaxing.

Silverbleed 01-09-2011 05:33 PM

It's not my kind of thing tho. I hate 'calm' and 'relaxing' stuff xD Because I have too much energy and I've tried it at a friends house once but after it I felt like running 3 laps around the street.

Coda 01-09-2011 05:37 PM

That's what the aerobics and balance games are for :P You wanna run laps? There's a minigame for that, you put the Wii Remote in your pocket and jog!

Silverbleed 01-09-2011 05:41 PM

Nah I just want a 'fun' game too, not just for my health. Kinect is more my thing. If I just wanna work out and run I'll go to the gym :P (which I still need to apply for T__T I forgot)

Zukin 01-09-2011 10:44 PM

I'd probably suggest trying to do some strengthening exercises.

Also a small walk once a day couldn't hurt any either.

I'm not for sure if they'd help you lose weight, but you might feel a bit better if you did both. <3

Echo-chan713 01-09-2011 11:34 PM

I basically walk everywhere, hell even in cons I have to then when I wore my favorite skirt, something was wrong and when I looked in the mirror I realize my butt was lifted from the muscles but nowhere else.

It was a flat black ass not it's somewhat round white butt

Lauv Keiko 01-29-2011 02:07 AM

Oh gosh panda...15 more pounds for me and we're of the same weight and lookie here, I'm 5'1" .. see, I'm overweight. X3 I kinda like my body..
But I have to lose some weight for health reasons as what my mom told me.

Also, because my body is an hourglass type, when I do lose weight, my curves show up...and it's crazy.

You're fine, that's a nice weight, Panda. If you want to lose some from your body, lose a little extra fat and just tone your muscles. Don't go skinny. >.<;

Panda 01-29-2011 02:15 AM

I actually have skinny arms and my leg are kinda big because I walk too much. D: I have a lot of muscle on my leg and yeah. I'm only trying to get rid of my man boobs and my stomach and I'm good to go. Because the rest are pretty much skinny and in shape. Weird lols

Nerklesaur 01-29-2011 02:25 AM

I know what it is like to want to be skinny.
But trust me it's better to be healthy weight then super skinny.
I was super skinny at one time and I was probably the most miserable person ever, and I found out I had a blood problem.

All I can say is eat more fruit and drink tea, that helps boost the metabolism. Walk more places if you can.
But just loose weight until you feel confident about your weight, don't let anyone tell you other wise.

Oh also I think bigger girls are actually cuter. They always have this optimistic and brightening smile. Most overly skinny girls I know have a thinned out face that looks sad.

Mr Ando 01-29-2011 02:51 AM

I'm 5'10" and 280lbs :P I actually like how my body looks, I just hate how I feel sick or out of breathe when I walk anywhere :C Oh, and my double chin. But other then that. I like my belly and my boobs and my thunder thighs :> Oops?

That is why I wish I could lose weight. Double chin and feeling sick :[

Silverbleed 01-29-2011 08:46 AM

I lost 2 kilo the past week. I have NO idea how I did it, because I don't need to loose weight >_> I'm 1,77m and I weight 61 kilo now O_o;

Duchess 01-29-2011 02:53 PM

I agree with the weight lose on the sick part.

I just dont feel -healthy- anymore D= I love the fact that I have huuuggeee hips to sway xD and my bf loves the fact that i'm soft and warm and huggable... So skinny is not an option.

I also want to increase upper body strength.. to support my heaving chest.... by back hurts WAAAY too much ;~;

What I despise is people assuming that I'm starting to exercise because I want to get smaller... and then start ranting about weight loss and all that stuff... I just want to be healthy... and wake up feeling not sick.

If I lose weight in that process then fine by me...but thats not my goal

Silverbleed 01-29-2011 03:48 PM

Duchess, a good way training your back is to lay down (somewhere comfortable) legs straight down and your hands behind your head. Many people have their knees up high when they do abdomen worm exercises (?). But it's best to lay your legs flat on the floor. Then bring your head up. It's up to you if you do only little ones, or to sit up straight completely. You will feel this in your abs but also in your back. Probably your back first, if you haven't done this much before. But don't stop then. some people think you have to stop but don't. You'll train your back muscles and I got even stronger muscles than my boyfriend thanks to this! XD

I also lost weight because being fatty doesn't look good on me at all. I got a small cup but big butt. Soooo it looks reaaally weird if I'm an apple figure with no boobies. Trust me, I do know how it looks like... my sister is about 2 - 3x my size. Now I'm a glass-shape figure and I'm damn proud of that. It's rather rare too, I heard <3

(?) = not sure if I spelt that right lol. I had to look it up on Babelfish @_@

Duchess 01-29-2011 04:17 PM

I think it's called crunches. But i do understand ^_^

Thanks for the tip Silver!

I don't look bad fat... I just look curvy.....really curvy. @.@ I have a wide pelvis and a narrow upper body... My hips = my shoulders. But my boobs balance everything out so I have shape...just a larger shape *nods*

*noms my thighs* Hourglass shapes are rare indeed. I can never have one because my bones don't allow it? xDDD I guess my pelvis is just good for baring sons

Silverbleed 01-29-2011 04:33 PM

Oh yes, crunches! Thanks.
Lucky you, you've at least got boobs for balance hahah xD Gladly I seem to do a good job tho, many people think I'm a cup 'larger' than I actually am. Hurray. It's probably my skinnyness so it doesn't look that small.
I also got a narrow upper body. I'm damn proud of my bone structure, I love how my bones stick out a little there, and not too much.

What shape are you? From what you're telling I could say a banana, I don't think you're a pear or apple.
I don't know where I got my shape from. My sister never had it, she was a pear ever since she was born. My mom was a banana, she had no shape, not butt, nothing xD Maybe from my fathers side? I have no idea. But I like it.

Duchess 01-29-2011 04:47 PM

I'm definitely pear shaped *nods* narrow rib-cage...and wide pelvis.
As per lady on the right. See how she shoulder width = hip width. Mines is like that... AAANNDDD... my upper body is narrow and parallel?? just like too *nods*

Silverbleed 01-29-2011 05:00 PM

Ahh I see. Well, we've both got one of the most 'popular' shapes under boys XD With a butt you can score! 8D Not an apple belly D:

My hips are smaller, and where the middle line is, I'm smaller than the part under my breasts, which means I'm a hour glass.

Duchess 01-29-2011 05:05 PM

Yes you are! Hourglass are good for pinups. *3*

I'm glad I'm not a big round blob of fat.. I'd probably cry ;~; Shape is gooooddddd~

I'm not really into banana tho .x. They just look so....plain?? ^^;;;

Lancelot 01-29-2011 06:58 PM

And I'm trying to gain weight! I tell ya, I was always skinny but now it's a bit much since the surgery, so I understand how you feel from the other side. Too skinny, too much weight, what a crazy world.

Devri 01-30-2011 12:01 AM

...What is this? D| *has never heard of body shapes being compared to fruits before* What other kinds of fruit-shapes are there? @ n @; /wonders what type I am o wo

Duchess 01-30-2011 12:05 AM

Banana, pear, apple..... and hourglass OwO

banana is the same width throughout... pear is bigger hips than torso...apple is bigger torso than hip OwO

hourglass.....should be obvious xDDD

Devri 01-30-2011 12:10 AM

Huh, that's interesting. 9 v9 I think I'm a banana though. OTL I'm like a stick, according to everyone I know. xD;;;

nipple ring 01-31-2011 07:05 PM

      • well i'm 6'0 and about 190lbs

you don't have to stop eating you just have to eat less
        and more often
i wasn't even trying to lose weight and it just happened
i have no muscle definition but it's really not that hard.
you just don't have to worry about it

        and drink plenty of water
because most of the time you think your hungry
        it's just thirst

Silverbleed 02-02-2011 12:36 PM

And not just that, barely anyone drinks enough water every day. Even I thought I was drinking enough but I also never make it to the 'minimum of 2 liter a day' your body needs. Going to the bathroom makes you loose like half of it, so actually you have to drink about 3-4 liter to get the minimum, not 2 liter.

Coda 02-02-2011 12:40 PM

Actually, two liters is sufficient; you're SUPPOSED to pee it out. If you're RETAINING that much fluid, something's wrong with your body. Your body will absorb what it needs and use the rest to flush out metabolic waste products like excess salts and excess water-soluble vitamins.

Edit: That is, 2 to 2.2 liters is sufficient for the average woman; some research indicates that men need as much as 3 liters. But as long as your urine is mostly clear (slightly colored is OK) you're probably hydrated enough.

Silverbleed 02-02-2011 12:43 PM

True. Tho there's this machine I could stand on at the gym, and it showed I needed to drink 20% more. It's amazing how much you have to drink xD And yeah water of course. Coffee is a curse, it does the opposite D<

Coda 02-02-2011 12:57 PM

It doesn't so much have to be water; any fluid that isn't also a diuretic counts.

If you pinch the skin on the back of your hand and it snaps back down as soon as you let go of it, that's a good sign you're probably sufficiently hydrated. If it doesn't bounce back right away (for instance if it takes a little bit to smooth back out) you're dehydrated.

(Edit: For people who don't know the term, "diuretic" means it makes you pee more than normal. Caffeine is one, although the concentrations in most teas and sodas isn't enough to cause a problem. Coffee's strong enough.)

Echo-chan713 02-02-2011 01:41 PM

Just don't drink ALL of your calories because they add up fast

Silverbleed 02-02-2011 01:49 PM

I try to avoid soda, there's too much sugar in it.
