I found ten bucks at church once when I was really young. I thought God sent it. :p
Anyway, I really like the cape set, but I wish it didn't have quite so many poses. You'd need at 10 to put the entire outfit together. |
Suzerain, I do like your new look. I do wish I could get runes if only to be able to say I donated to this wonderful site...I really do like some of the rune items though.
|
By the time my rune stash runs out, my birthday should be coming up. Hopefully I'll get some money to donate. Not that I don't have more money at the moment, but I've had it so long, I don't want to spend it.
Yeah, I'm weird like that. |
No, no, it makes sense, I never liked touching my savings account unless I HAD to :P
|
Mm, I guess I'm comparing myself to my parents, who spend every dime they make as soon as they get it, despite my pleading with them to save. They like to live in the moment, I suppose.
|
A good balance of frugality and splurging is always best. I had parents who did either one, so I'm torn between them.
Serra, your avi is so cuuute! |
I rarely find things I actually want to buy, anyway. Mostly clothes, when I do, and I spend readily enough when something does catch my eye. I just let the little trifling fancies pass me by. I like having a bit of money saved up in case I need it.
|
You're hardly one that needs to complain about going to bed late, Sheol :p. I did manage to crawl out of bed at 11:00 this morning, for the sake of a dress fitting.
I'm sadly at that stage of life where my savings are dwindling whether I like it or not. I will need to findn a job quite soon if I want my bank account to keep the number of digits it has. |
Well, I draw a line between "late" and "tomorrow". :p
|
I guess I go to bed early then. ;)
|
Clever. Very clever.
I actually make myself go to bed around 2:00 at the latest, even when I'm not tired. Though, if I can't sleep, I'll stay up and read for a bit until I start to feel more relaxed. Some nights, I'm not allowed to sleep at all, though, seeing as my sister's room is on top of mine and she likes to blast music at 4:00 in the morning sometimes. |
When my roommate gets his overnight job started I think it will end up messing with my sleep schedule. Once upon a time I would stay up until 3:00-4:00 and then wake up anywhere from 10:00-12:00. But now my body forces me to go to bed before midnight, usually before I'm "properly tired". I try to wake up no later that 8:00 nowadays though.
Suzerain, I feel for you, sometimes I have neighbors playing music so loud the walls are trembling >< @Cupcake, thankies ^^ |
I'm usually better about it when school's in session. I rarely stay up past midnight when I have class the next day. But now, with months of vacation ahead of me, I don't have any reason to force myself to go to bed. And I do enjoy having the extra time to do things (which I occasionally put to decent use...) but I just hate how fast the day seems to go by, in contrast.
|
Yes I noticed when I woke up later the day seemed to vanish more quickly. I don't seem to play games as much as I used to either, I'm not sure why that is.
|
It fluctuates, for me. Weeks will go by with my game systems collecting dust, then I'll start playing something on a whim and play it non-stop.
Which is why I like Nippon Ichi and Idea Factory games. They last me a long time. |
I agree on those points xD Speaking of Nippon Ichi aside from Disgaea which other ones did you play?
|
Hmm... *thinks*
Phantom Brave, Makai Kingdom, and La Pucelle, the original versions only. I played all thee Disgaea titles, and the PSP remake of the first one. I have Z.H.P. Unlosing Ranger vs. Darkdeath Evilman (what a stupid title) sitting in my pile of games to play, but haven't gotten around to it yet. |
So you didn't get to play Soul Nomad? I really enjoyed that one as it reminded me a lot of the original Ogre Battle on the SNES, at least the battle system where attacks are automatic based on character placement. I want to get the Phantom Brave remake and I never got around to the post game in Makai Kingdom.
|
No, I missed that one somehow. I mean, I heard of it when it came out, I just never bought it for some reason. I bet it's cheap, now, I should look into that.
And, I never got very far in the postgame in Makai. It seemed really hard to grind levels. Phantom Brave's postgame was weird. Fun, but complicated to get really strong. |
The company that made the strategy guides for those games were really good about the technichalities so just reading those were enough to get me started. Makai Kingdom they had a good plan to get to level 100, and then from there you're usually strong enough to do the grinding yourself. I just never got around to it ><
|
I think I got to level 300 or so, but I just got bored eventually. It didn't catch my interest like Disgaea usually does.
|
I did much better with Phantom Kingdom, I think I got Mokona up to level 5000 or so. I was just unhappy she couldn't be reincarnated like everyone else :(
|
I... barely even remember that game. I think I got up Pringer X, but I don't remember ever killing him.
|
I had Baal on my team so I know I defeated him. I think I had done the entire post story and was unhappy there was no game+ like Disgaea had.
|
I never saw much of a point in the NG+'s in Nippon Ichi's games. You're so ridiculously powerful at that point that there's no challenge at all.
That does remind me, though, in the Tactics Ogre remake I mentioned in the other thread, they have the best NG+ feature I've ever seen. You know how the game has three different paths, Lawful, Neutral, and Chaotic? After you beat the game, you can jump back to the decision points in the earlier chapters and play through the game on a different route with your end-game party, and all the enemies scale up to your level and equipment. Not only that, but the bosses only carry their rare weapons when they're at high levels, so there's plenty of incentive to go back and play through all three paths. |
Well the point in the Nippon Ichi games was to get the other endings, and if you wanted a challenge on subsequent playthroughs you could always ask the council to raise enemy levels after all (for Disgaea, I forget the process in the other games). Tactics Ogre does it pretty well it appears, letting you go back to specific decision points is better than replaying the beginning over and over.
|
That's a fair point. I forgot about the multiple endings since I never really pay that much attention NI's plots. Not that they're as incoherent and extraneous as, say, Trinity Universe's story is, but Tactics Ogre is in a while different league when it comes to storyline.
Which is kind of the point, I think, considering that most/all of NIS's games are parodies of the genre. And, I did like Etna mode in Afternoon of Darkness. That was neat. And Etna's awesome. |
I ADORE Etna. I actually keep thinking about making an Etna cosplay here :P I do agree that the stories in most of the NI games is pretty out there but I still like them a lot. Especially Soul Nomad's evil path xD
|
I used Etna in Cross Edge through most of the main game, despite her not being anywhere near to the strongest character. She's just so deliciously psychotic. :D
And speaking of cosplay, I wonder if we have enough pieces for a Hiro cosplay. I'd have to get my hands on a Cyber Reaper, but other than that... maybe. Here's a pic of her. You think it could be done? |
I don't know about the clawed hand, I'm not familiar with all the items (where's Lucid when you need her? xD) Also the bottom of the dress might be tough. But everything else looks doable :3
As for Etna I think I'd need a devil tail (I know it's in one of the items somewhere) and the rest I could probably do with commons. Except maybe the hair... |
Azeil's Claws would be an okay facsimile, though I'd have to hide the right-hand claw somehow. The flame design on the dress would be impossible, I think, so would the fire-aura thing, too, though she doesn't always have that. The rest should just be tricky layering.
And Etna needs a spear, don't forget! (Though I give her an axe usually, just 'cause she looks like she'd like using axes. :p) |
-poofs in-
....That looks like a difficult cosplay.....It's a bit too specialized for what Trisphee has right now, IMO. |
Oh, right...weapons >< I could probably do dozens of cosplays if not for the weapon part >>
|
Wanted to make an RO assassin cosplay, but.....even though it isn't really specialized, we still don't have the items/colors.
|
I want to do Aisha or Rena from Elsword also. I could probably pull it off if not for the weapons but I'm trying to save my Aurums xD
|
Yeah, you're probably right, Espy. Plus, even if it could be done, it would take forever to hunt down all the pieces, likely.
|
The best flame dress I can think of is solar kingdom and maybe princess dress since they're poofy and yellow, but could always go for a poofy skirt and red pants maybe? There's one that looks like a big tutu of sorts. The devil tail is in yearly items at the moment, I believe.
|
Here's another pic without the flames, though I think this one would be even tougher. The details on the dress are flat-out out of the question.

Aisha? You might be better off making Arme from Grand Chase.
|
@Suzerain, It would be awfully fun to try if not for all the expensive parts required xD
@Espy, Both are simple and complex depending on how much detail I'd go into really. |
