Adelais rolled his eyes, "You know...that wont really help you..their prints are over everything, as are yours..." He watched as Aaron tossed the C4 into the oven, "So you're going to kill about 50 people..just for the sake of destroying evidence? You humans are so...rash.." He shook his head a bit, exiting the apartment but remaining in the hall, glancing around. He could hear people getting ready to investigate. He looked back into the apartment, "..I have a much better idea..." He pulled the one form the hall with telekinesis, shoving it into his pocket. He went back into the apartment, grabbing all the C-4 and handing it to Aaron, "You're going to want to warn your neighbors your kitchen has caught fire.." He shoved the man from the apartment, and waited. He wanted to at least give the other humans a chance to escape. As soon as they would leave the building, they would forget all about the gun fire.
|
Aaron nodded as Adelais handed him the C4, and put them in his pocket. He walked over to where the fire extinguisher was and pulled his sleeve over his hand and pulled the fire alarm. He rushed back to his apartment, "Better?" He smiled a bit. He glanced down at the floor and saw a nice looking pistol, he quickly picked it up and put it in his pocket.
|
Adelais sighed as Aaron came back, "That also mean get the hell out..you know that right?" He chuckled a bit, snapping his fingers. The cabinets suddenly catching fire above the stove. The fire spread rapidly over the kitchen and through the rest of the apartment. Before much could happen, Adelais covered Aaron's eyes with his hands and teleported them both to his own apartment. It was a two floor loft, basic layout, basic design. Nothing fancy. He removed his hands from Aaron's eyes, "This will certainly be interesting."
|
Aaron looked around the loft, "You get more interesting by the moment." He nodded. "I have to go." He pointed to nothing in particular. "I must of done something to piss my boss off, and I don't want you to get hurt even though I'm assuming that your not human." He clicked his tongue. He felt for his bag and was glad to find that it still was around his neck.
|
He ran his hand through his hair, flicking Aaron on the forehead, releasing his memory, "The damn woman never does anything right..either way, the best place you can be is with me..." He hurried off upstairs, grabbing an extra eye patch and tying it over his eye as he came back down, "And you're right..I'm not..human, but that's not the main point right now."
*** The white haired woman sighed as she stepped into the tall office complex in the heart of Yuma, Arizona. She approached the main desk, leaning on the counter, her red eyes and white hair hidden under the cover of her cloak, "I need to speak with Rubrum...it's a very important matter.." |
Aaron sighed as Adelais disappeared upstairs, "I can take care of myself." He removed the duffel bag from his neck and laid it on a chair. He unzipped it and pulled out some wet wipes. He quickly cleaned his face and hands off, he always carried some with him. He removed his pistol from his jacket pocket and placed it in the back of his pants. He took off his jacket and laid it across the back of the chair. He took off his shirt and wiped the blade of his katana off before he sheathed it. He dug under the piles of money to pull out a shirt. He turned around as he heard Adelais speak, "Well the point is that I need to take my demon boss out. But I'm assuming that I will die trying." He pulled his shirt on. "Which in a way doesn't even matter, because even if I do somehow kill him the hit will still be out on me." He unclipped his katana from his belt.
"I'm sorry ma'am, but there is no one here by that name." The man at the counter smiled a little. |
"Precisely, which is why I will take care of it...If you'll let me..." Adelais bit his lip slightly as he saw Aaron pull of his shirt, eying hte human's muscular chest for a moment. He quickly adverted his gaze before he could notice, his eyes falling to rest on the bloodied sword. He shrugged, his eye flashing red as he eyed the bloody katana and shirt. He forced the thirst down, his eye returning to blue, "Although, I personally wont be doing much..demons are much stronger than vampires and unlike us, their power does not rely on how much blood we drink. Plus, I'm not looking forward to dueling a demon to begin with.."
The woman sighed, closing her eyes for a moment before opening them. She pulled her hood down to reveal her alabaster skin, red eyes and pure white hair. She leaned on one arm against the counter, looking down at the man tapping her other nail loudly. "Look, I know he's here. I tracked him here..Rubrum...Mr. Norewood..I don't what you call him, I demand to speak with him." |
Aaron chuckled a bit, "You just checked me out didn't you?" He raised his eyebrow for a moment. He waved his hand to let Adelais know he was joking or was he? "Well then, how can a demon be killed?" He laid the shirt on his bag. "I know for vampires its decapitation, fire, and a steak through the heart. And since it's 3:30 in the afternoon, and you have your curtains open I'm assuming sun has no direct influence on you." He pointed and looked at Adelais.
"Mr. Norewood isn't in right now. You'll have to come back at a later time." The man nodded and went back to his computer. |
"Actually, I'm immune to fire, as I can control it, as with most vampires these days..it's decapitation or destruction of the heart.. It's easier to decapitate a vampire as we usually have powerful telekinetic shields around our hearts." He was slightly caught off-guard by Aaron's reaction to his..sight seeing..so he ignored it. "As for demons, you have to decapitate them...and even then some of the more powerful ones can regenerate their heads..so you're best bet is decapitating them then removing the heart and finally burning the body to ashes." He shrugged, "I wouldn't personally know how well any of that works or how much of it is true..I tried to avoid demons.."
The woman growled, grabbing the man's shirt and hauling him up and only an inch from her face. "You better get on that phone right this fucking instant, and tell Mr. Norewood to get his sorry ass down here. It is imperative that I speak to him now." She threw him back into his chair, pointing tot he phone, "Now." |
"I see." Aaron bit his lip a bit as he thought. He turned around and pulled out about $15,000 dollars, "For you, I don't know how long it will take them to track me. And god only knows what creatures Mr. Norewood has under his control." He held out the stack of money. "And I didn't mean for that to sound offensive." He chewed on the inside of his cheek.
The man smoothed out his shirt, "Like I said ma'am, Mr. Norewood isn't in right now. And he wont accept any calls, so you'll just have to come back at a later day." The man looked at the woman before going back to his computer. |
Adelais shook his head, pushing the money back towards Aaron, "I don't need it...and it's alright..I understand. We're horrible monsters..it's a fact of life." He shrugged, really unphased by the statement. "So as long as you're in the apartment, vampires cannot sense you..so we only have to worry about the demons and witches."
The woman sighed, pulling her hood over her face, "I'm going up there..and I'd love to see you try to stop me." With that, she vanished, reappearing in Mr. Norewood's office. She placed her hands on her hips, her red eyes glowing under her hood as she watched the man in the large chair, "And he tried to tell me you were out..you can't hide from me Rubrum.." |
Aaron sighed and put the money back in the bag, "I don't think your horrible. Once you get past the doom and gloom, your actually very sweet." He smiled a bit which turned into a frown. "Yay, I'm basically a prisoner in your house." He rubbed his temples. "Sorry, that came out wrong." He sighed again.
"That's why I keep him alive Sanguis. To try and keep people out." Rubrum glanced up from his papers. "So what can I do for you, hm? You come here to kill me, or to try?" He smirked as he looked back at his papers. |
Adelais chuckled a bit, "I'm not 'doom and gloom'...I just..don't like to be out and about surrounded by you humans...and yes, I intended it that way. You're sweet, and very much in my interest, but I'm still a danger to you no matter how..civil I may seem now." He flopped down into his couch patting the cushion next to him, "You should at least relax a bit."
The woman smiled a bit, teleporting herself to be siting on his desk, one leg crossed over the other. She placed her bare foot on the edge of his chair, allowing her hood to fall back, "Oh darling, far from it. I only wish to request a small favor of you~" She leaned forward slightly, her finger gently trailing along his chin, "You do owe me for all the times I saved your sorry ass while you were growing up." Genevieve let out a growl. Adelais was not answering his phone, so now she tried Aaron's. She was currently standing a few blocks form Aaron's apartment, watching it burn up to ashes. |
Aaron smiled a bit, "Thank... You for the compliment... At least I think it was a compliment." He chuckled a bit. He walked over to the couch and sat down. He crossed his legs, "I'll try, but..." He trailed off as his phone vibrated. He pulled it out and saw that it was Gene, "Not surprised." He sighed and answered the call. "Yes Gene?" He twirled his ankle.
"And what would the favor be Sanguis?" The man leaned back in his chair and laced his fingers. "And you only saved my ass a few times." |
Adelais frowned, "Can't that woman ever leave us alone?" He leaned back on the couch, letting his head fall back and closed his eyes. He was rather surprised that Aaron was taking this so well. Most humans panicked and ran off. It was a bit refreshing.
"Jesus Christ thank God you're alive! I was just on my way back to your place and here I am watching it burn up! Ade is being an ass and won't answer his phone...is he with you? And are you alright?" Sanguis grinned a bit, showing her pointed teeth, "I would need a 70 page notebook to tally the times I saved your ass...either way.." She leaned back on her hands looking out the massive window behind Rubrum, "I would so politely ask you to leave my darling Ade and Aaron alone, please. I have...another idea for them...but much later on..Could you do that for me..please?" |
Aaron chuckled, "Yes I'm fine, and so is he. There was a... small accident. But nothing major." He shrugged not that she could see it. "And actually I'm with him, but we wont go into semantics." He smiled. "Now relax and go and do something." With that he hung up the phone. "She's gonna come over here now, isn't she?" He looked to Adelais.
The man sighed, "Fine, I will leave him alone. And I will call off the hit. Jut because you said please." He nodded. |
Genevieve nearly threw the phone at the ground, "Oh! How rude!" She turned and stormed off towards Ade's apartment.
Adelais nodded, "Yup..she'll be here in about..a half hour..." He sighed a bit, lifting his head and looking over to Aaron, "You actually believe me don't you? You literally believe that I'm a vampire and your 'boss' is a demon? This is..interesting..I'm not used to this sort of reaction.." Sanguis smiled sweetly, "Thank you darling~ And if I see any of your goons near either of them, I'll be seeing you again." She jumped off the desk, pulling her hood back up on her face. "I'll be off to tell my Little Ade that I have..information for him..nothing too extensive of course...I still deserve my money." She winked and vanished. |
"Yay, I can't wait to be slapped for hanging up on her." Aaron's tone was laid with sarcasm. "Yes I do, You got shot in the chest." He pointed to the holes in his jacket. "And I assume you wouldn't be wearing a bullet proof vest." He nodded. "And I saw your eye heal up right in front of my eyes." He ran his hand through his hair. "Also that woman healed my side when my former boss stabbed me." He bit his lip feeling that he was rambling. "I also had a feeling that there weren't only humans out there."
"Your welcome." The man nodded as the woman vanished. He quickly grabbed the phone and dialed a number. |
Adelais sighed, "Speaking of the bullets.." He removed his jacket to reveal his black shirt that also had matching holes only to remove that as well. The wound had not healed, but it was no longer bleeding. He had to get the bullets out before it would heal. With another sigh, he held his hand over the bullet holes, using his telekinesis to lift the bullets out with a slight wince. He let them drop to the floor as the wound healed, then leaned back. He'd get a shirt in a moment. "She won't slap you...she'll punch you right in the nose.." He laughed a bit, remembering the few times that it happened to him..especially when she found out he could heal himself.
|
"Sorry about that, also thank you for helping me. I can do two maybe three people at once, not ten." Aaron sighed knowing how that could be taken. He glanced over at Adelais' open shirt, he was very impressed by the muscles he had. He closed his eyes and leaned his head back, "A broken nose, how awesome." He sighed again. In a way he couldn't believe that all of this had happened in less then twenty four hours.
|
Adelais shrugged, "Well you're just a human..we can't expect much from you.." He sighed, knowing how arrogant and insulting that sounded, but he really didn't care. If Aaron couldn't tolerate it, then he wanted nothing to do with the man. "Don't worry..I'll fix it for you..the nose that is."
|
"True." Aaron shrugged not offended by Adelais' comment. "I was told once that I had a special gene..." He trailed off trying to think of what it was called. "Oh well I can't remember. And thank you, It's bad enough that I have a hole in my arm. I don't want a broken nose on top of it." He chuckled. He opened his eyes and lifted up his sleeve, "Time to change it." He got off of the couch and walked over to his bag. He grabbed a bandage and some antiseptic wipes, "Do you have a bathroom?" He looked at Adelais and held up the bandaging stuff.
|
Adelais closed his eyes, standing up and approaching Aaron, "If you haven't noticed..I don't really like the smell of blood around me." He grabbed Aaron's arm, right at the wound, and rather roughly. After a moment, he sent Aaron's healing sequence into major overdrive, healing the wound in seconds. He removed the bandage, setting it on fire and watching it burn in the palm of his hand before letting the ashes blow out the open window. "Better?" He flopped back down onto the couch, feeling incredibly lazy right now.
|
Aaron nodded, he was a little ticked that Adelais acted that way. But he shook it off, "Thanks." He put the bandage and wipes back into the side pocket. He zipped up the bag to make sure that Gene wouldn't see anything when she got there. He sighed a bit, "Once everything is done with I will go and be out of your hair. I'll even move out of the state." He crossed his arms. In a way he like how Adelais was a ass but in a way he despised it.
|
"Now who said I wanted you to leave? You still owe me a favor.." With a slight growl he grabbed at his eye patch and tore it off..it was really bothering him for some reason. He set the stupid leather circle beside him on the couch with a sigh, "You'd think that after 420 years, I'd be used to the damn thing.." He shook his head slightly, then brushed some hair from his eye; surprised at how irritated the stupid thing was being right now.
|
"Technically it is more then one favor." Aaron sighed. "I just don't like to mooch off of people." He ran his hand through his hair. "Well there are things in life that you wont get used to, I have already figured that out." He let his legs collapse and he sat cross legged on the floor. He pulled out his pistol and laid it on his lap as he leaned back on the chair.
|
He shrugged, "Just the one favor will do for me...and you're not mooching, you're spending the night in lieu of our ruined dinner date." He smiled a bit, rather enjoying Aaron's company even if half the time he didn't appear to. And of course, right as things were getting nice and mellow, there came that annoying knock signaling Genevieve was there. He glanced to Aaron, shaking his head and putting his index finger to his lips.
"Open up you crazy old coot! I demand an explanation! I know you're in there! Don't ignore me!" She pounded on the door some more, tempted to try and bust it down; but she knew she couldn't. "Adelais Seibert Rathrock! Ouvrir ce putain de porte en ce moment!" |
Aaron smiled and nodded, he was about to say something but was cut off by Gene knocking on the door. He chuckled quietly at her anger, and he wasn't ready to go and open the door. There was one thing he never would do and that is mess with an angry woman.
|
Adelais rolled his eyes as she persisted. He made no move to actually answer the door though. Even when it was silent on that end, he could still sense her there and decided to still not open the door. He sighed as he could feel her walking away. "About damn time..." he muttered. "I honestly don't know why the hell she decided she wants to be my 'friend'. I, personally, do not like her that much. Don't get me wrong, she is a really nice girl, but I find her rather annoying what with her..antics.."
|
Aaron leaned his head back, "I agree with you there, she is a little annoying. She would e-mail, text, call, and visit me until I agreed to meet you." He sighed. "Not saying I'm not glad I met you, she just didn't have to lay everything on so damn thick." He closed his eyes again. "She is probably gonna come back soon I assume?" He rolled his eyes.
|
He nodded multiple times, agreeing with him every step of the way, "It was worse on my end, since she knew about..me being a vampire for awhile now. She actually stabbed me.." He shook his head with a slight chuckle, "She's a very strange woman...I don't understand why she's so hell bent on 'getting us together'.." He frowned at the thought she'd only be back, "We'll just deal with it when it comes..."
|
"I don't know, maybe we are kind of alike." Aaron shrugged. "We both rarely go out, you to I assume feed, me to murder." His tone was nonchalant. "We both sulk a lot." He shook his head slightly. "Which I hope she doesn't, I'm not looking forward to getting yelled at." He cracked open his eye to look at Adelais.
|
He rolled his eyes, "I rarely get out to feed...more often than not, I just sit on my couch and think all day..for years on end. Every so often I'll take a few classes online..but..rarely..I mean, I hardly look like I'm past 15...it's insulting." He scoffed, running his hand through his hair, "How'd you get caught up in all this..mercenary business?"
|
"Which isn't your fault, I'm guessing. But I say you look at least 18." Aaron smiled a bit trying to make Adelais feel better. "well right out of collage I tried to get a job with the police. But they wouldn't let me in because of my size. I was to scrawny." He sighed. "I even showed them that I am really adept with all kinds of weaponry. But alas it didn't work. After my at the time dreams were crushed, Mr. Norewood came to me and offered me a job. He wouldn't tell me anything about it, other then that it was security." He ran his hand through his hair.
"A load of bull that was, but after my first kill. Which I though the person was wearing protection. I found that I didn't mind killing people. And Norewood, that SOB made sure I would never forget the rush of taking another person's life." He sighed knowing he was sounding like a total psychopath. He leaned his head forward, "I told you that story, can I ask you how you became blind in your eye?" He hoped that Adelais wouldn't get upset for him asking. |
He chuckled a bit, listening to Aaron's story, "Think of it from my perspective; the predator side. Hearing the heart race, feeling the panic rolling off them..it's just so..thrilling when I feed off someone..and don't worry, I don't think you're a psychopath. If anyone is, it's the 20 year old french girl that never leaves me alone..." He chuckled again, shaking his head slightly, "She should spend her time looking for her 'soul mate' as she always calls it."
He sighed a bit as he was asked about his eye. He had been asked so many times, but every time he answered, it was a lie-against his mother nonetheless. He shook his head with a slight smile, "I don't mind at all...It's nothing spectacular really. When I was maybe 5 or 6; or somewhere around that, I was ambushed by a very powerful warlock. Witches and the likes are not fans of vampires or demons..they prefer to align themselves with 'the light'. Long story short, he was trying to get the knife into my heart, but I dropped down to my knees at the last second and it went into my eye. Things happened, blah blah blah, I killed him, did what I could for my eye until I got home, and that's that. My father tried his best to repair my eye, but even as vampires our knowledge of the specifics of the body were lacking...we knew more than the humans and their medicine books of course, but still, we were lacking. Unfortunately, any permanent injury obtained as a human, remains, so when I 'turned', my eye did not fully repair.' He shrugged. It really was nothing spectacular or all that 'unique'. "I don't mind it really...it keeps humans from approaching me and that's perfectly alright in my eye..." He chuckled. Rarely did he ever make a joke like that. |
Aaron chuckled slightly at Adelais' joke. He stood up and walked over to the couch. When he got to the couch he put his hands on the back of the couch, he leaned over Adelais' head and smiled a bit at the content look on his face. He moved his left hand and gently laid in on Adelais' right cheek, being careful of his eye. "I know it doesn't make a difference, but I truly am sorry." He started to remove his hand with a small smile.
|
Adelais's right eye cracked open a split second before his left, revealing the mass about of scar tissue on the organ. "There's no need to feel sorry, but..thank you..." He almost whined as Aaron removed his hand, rather liking the feel of his warm skin, but held himself in check. He sighed a bit, watching Aaron with red eyes; well his right appearing to be a bit pink due to the white/opal scar tissue. "What made you decide to remain a mercenary?"
|
Aaron stayed leaning over Adelais, "Mainly the money, plus it is fun coming up with new ways to torture/kill people." He smiled a bit as he looked at Adelais' pinkish blind eye. "Does it hurt?" His tone took on a somewhat childishness. He didn't know why but he was truly fascinated with Adelais' eye.
|
"When I was still human..it would bring me such agony..but..a few years after I turned, I burned the nerves around my eye..you could grab it and I wouldn't feel it." He sighed a bit, unsure of what to do really. "I'm surprised you haven't asked me about money...I mean..." He trailed off, not wanted to make himself seem more like an idiot.
|
Aaron gently pushed himself off of the back of the couch and walked around to the front. He kneeled on the couch; almost like a child does when they look up at their parent. He got as close as he could to Adelais. "I see..." He trailed off as he scanned over Adelais' face. "I assume you have come up with quite a wealth over your 400 or so years." He gently laid his hand on Adelais' cheek again. He gently trailed his thumb over the scars, mapping them out in his mind. "You really don't feel that?" His voice was in a whisper for some reason that he couldn't figure out. He leaned in, his face was only a few inches away from Adelais'. He slid his hand down a bit as he fully leaned in and gently kissed the corner of Adelais' eye. He pulled back after a moment and laid his hand in his lap, "S-..sorry..." He trailed off as he looked down hiding his face from Adelais.
