Let's see, my makeup's pretty basic. I use a primer, then a mineral powder foundation (applied w/ brushes) I use the same stuff for concealer. I have a couple of liners, grey, brown and like a pewter color. I have blush, but i really only use it in the winter cause i have pale skin. I don't use anything on my lips other than chapstick. I have a bunch of eyeshadows, but i only use them every once in a while. I actually like the drugstore stuff, i think it's suitable for what i need. :p
|
i can wear makeup but it kinda feels ....... heavy on my face. THATS why i dont where it .......and i almost killed my self with eyeliner......
|
I have eyeliner and chapstick/lip gloss lol...
I don't wear much unless i'm feeling insecure haha. |
Makeup feels heavy on my face too.. especially mascara. It also really stings my eyes when I'm washing it off in the shower. I entered in a makeover contest yesterday and the prize is $200 worth of beauty products. I need an eyelash curler, some acne treatment stuff for my upper back/shoulder area, and all kinds of other things.
Wish me luck! =) |
If makeup feels heavy on your face you might be applying it too thick. A good rule of thumb after getting your foundation on is to wipe your skin with a tissue until you are coming away mostly clean. It also helps, at least if you have a good moisturizer, to mix your foundation(if it's a liquid) with that and then apply it. Your skin will love the moisture, and the foundation will not sit as heavy on top of your skin.
I keep telling myself not to buy more makeup...I have a huuuuuuge stockpile so it's not like I need anything else.... Dang impulse issues! |
Oh, my. I have over 200 eyeshadows, at least 10 lipsticks and 10 lipglosses, tons of eyeliner, one thing of mascara, a few types of liquid and mousse foundation, concealer, powder, five different types of perfume... I'm so girly >> I use anything, really. The only eyeshadow I refuse to use is Rimmel. I like Elf's eye shadow primer and I can only use neutrogena and maybelline foundation. I use wet n wild concealer. I really wish I could buy sugarpill or concrete minerals or something online.. |
I have more makeup than I should probably own. The only items I use are cover up, lipstick, eyeshadow, and mascara. I don't really do the blush, nail polish, eyeliner, ect. Most of my products are Mary Kay brand or Neutragena.
|
I also have like every colour of the rainbow of nail polish and then some... |
I don't have any makeup, nor have I ever worn any... But I am interested...
|
I have a bit more Makeup then you do, however I rarely ever use it. D :
Really, I see very little point in using it. |
I used to wear eye liner every day, and mascara because that's all I had. Then I got lazy and stopped wearing it every day to school, and now I never wear makeup and I'm a lot happier with myself
|
The only time I use make up is when I cosplay, I have a hard time finding the right shades to make me look great.
|
I personally don't have a lot of make-up compared to my sister who practicly smooshes every bit on her face every morning. but heres the list Urban Decay:Book of shadows IV basicly its a good starter pallet for eyeshadows it comes with eye tips that you can acess off of your smartphone or the internet, it comes with eyeshadow primer,& mascara& eyeliner, along with 16 eyeshadow swatches Urban Decay Eye Primer: i love this stuff, basicly if you one of those people whoms eye are blotchy, dark circles, your makeup creases or you rub your eyes alot this is the stff for you. you put the primer on top of your eyes then blend to the area that you want to cover (if dark circles) or want to prime (eye shadow) it also britens the skin around your eyes so the shadow will "Pop" a bit better. anyway then put you eyeshadow(s) over the primed area and even swimming won't ruin your make up. (i tried) Urban Decay Mascara:ok i have to be honast i don't really need mascara, i have rather long eyelashes but i do get my eyeshadow/foundation on them all the time so i use it to cover that white powdery look, the UD mascara is a good mascara dosen't hardly clump, and has a curved brush appilcater wich is nice if you have wierd shaped eyes like me, overall i'd give it a 7.8 Urban Decay Eyeliner: i don't use alot of liquid mascara mostly because i end up putting it on much to thick but this is actually decent for newer users. easy to use aplicator brush and not to sludgey also its waterproof so thats a plus Too Faced Naked Eye Pallet: i love this pallet it comes with three tip cards for the new user for the recomended blending and application of the shadow on your eyes,9 color swatches, its more of a neutral pallet with browns whites and pink, i origionally learned how to do my eyeshadow with the Too Faced Neural Eye pallet that my sister bought so i have an emotional tie to my sister through these products Me FIT Powder:this is a product line by maybelline thats accually pretty good, the powder isn't cakey and dose a good job of matching fair-er skin tones MY FIT LIQUID Foundation: another product in the maybelline line that is ok not great because it is rather runny and rather smugey but it works if you put the light powder over it Coverfirl Natureluxe: i really like this mascara because is dosen't have artiaficial sulfates and silicons but is made from bees wax, it has rich color but clumps on the ends if it had a curved brush i think it would happen less overall 7. not bad for a nature lover Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick: i like the plum/mauve colors of this perticular line of lipstick, rich color, dosent get on your teeth, barly comes off on drink lids from your lips (i have 473 Mauvy Night) Kokeshi Cherry Blossom Body Lotion: i know technicly not make up but i love this lotion its light smelling and not to oily (bought from world market) BRUSHES: i have 1 lone brush and then i have an eyeshadow brush set Femme Couture kokeshi brush: this is my face makeup brush its kinda tougher at the base but very soft at the fan and dose amazing coverage without holding alot of make-up in its brissles FaceSecrets brush set: it comes with 5 brushes 4 for eyes and 1 for face but it was too soft and flung powder all over my shirt so i cut it down and gave to my sister, but the eyebrushes are lovely and keep their shape relitivly well as for the makeup i want any of the Kat Von D series any of the Lolita Lempicka Series perfumes (expecially the Si Lolita) any of the Toofaced Pallets |
I'm curious how much did the Urban Decay Book of Shadows cost you? I have the primer already, and I swear by it if I'm going out and need a long night of sustainable make-up, but I haven't really looked into any of their other stuff as there isn't anywhere that sells it nearby.
o.o/ I have waaayy too many eyeshadows. P: I also only ever use one kind of mascara, and my eyeliners change often depending on my mood. At the moment I'm using a brand called Frontcover (I think?) for eyeshadows; comes with some metallic shiny colours and some matt colours, some glitter eyeliner applicators (that I don't use) and a really cool clear liquid-eyeliner that you can use any of the eyeshadows to draw a line. |
Well I don't have a lot of makeup, and I only ware it when something is going on like a date, or job interview. I actually had to chuck a good amount of it before moving as it would have expired before I would have been able to get to it.
When I buy I buy from M.A.C (I love the colors because they just seem really vibrant to me)or from Sephora, but there is a ton out there. I get freebies from my grammy sometimes (MaryKay) and I also like Avon as well. I do feel a little deprived, because I don't ware it often, and I don't play around with it as much as I could. Maybe I'll give it a go a little later on when I can afford all the colors I want. I can't say that I agree with with they tell you when it comes to Applicators 100% of the time. To me there's no point in buying a $100+ brush set when you don't really know how to use it to its full. I tend to buy the basic brush sets for $5~$15 first, and get comphy with using it, and learning how to use it before splurging on a pricier set. But they do feel different and in some ways make a difference too....so buy them when you're ready for them. |
I have way to much make up. I actually cried last summer because I had to go through and see how much was expired broken etc and it was traumatic! I have about 3 luggage bags full of eye shadows mostly Urban Decay sets 120 pallets there is some ELF and MAC but I moslty stick to Urban Decay and Too faced for the eyes. A lot of make up forever various foundations and primers... mmm HD primer...mmmm tarina tarantino make up brushes and sephora....and bare minerals haha XD...uh...I dunno...I suppose that is all I have...blushes and lipsticks from everywhere...
it may be worth noting that I am a "Goth" plus size model...that effects my make up stash a LOT! |
I only wear cover up. That's all... xD maybe every now and then lipgloss, but the gloss is too much -.- |
[COLOR="MediumTurquoise"@Syari
that eyepallet cost origionally $65 but since i used my BFFL/Older sisters discount 15% it came to about 56 with tax [/COLOR] |
Ah nice that's not too bad. I might invest in one when I head over to Americuuh in the summer.
|
they may be on discount if you can find one because ow long ago it came out
|
My makeup has the tendency to when I love the makeup like my no7 foundation mousse. I love the foundation then almost 2 years later, I tried to find the foundation they discontinued it B(. So that means that if I need to get another one I can't
|
Yeah my favourite liquid eyeliner was discontinued ;[ Made me die.
And awesome! I do love discounts 8'D |
Asami is addicted to makeup~ its like an obsession
i have two drawers full of makeup! And then some I own over 100 pallets of eyeshadow tons of lipgloss mainly a pale color since im light Ectect When doing my makeup i start off with primer that i rub all over my face then i put on liquid foundation and to top it off some powder to give my face that doll like look i change my style of eyeshadow everyday sometimes i do eye primer then many different colors and blend them to look amazing. I can do rainbow eyeshadow perfectly iwith the rainbow look i also do the undereye eyeshadow to connect the pink of the rainbow to the purple underneath Sometimes i take black stick liner and outline a circleish shape (hard to explain it basically goes alomst up to my eyebrow then fill it in with black liquid eyeshadow then pat black powder and take blavk eyeliner and do my signature eyeliner. Basicially i have many eyeshadow techniques that i perfect For lips i tend to blend different colors to give some cute colors |
I don't wear a lot of makeup, only to cons or special events. But here is a tip make sure when your buying makeup that your not allergic too. I know some friends who break out into a rash while wearing makeup that has a certain chemical in it that they can't handle and they will break out. Also don't put to much perfume on you liked you bathed in it,some people don't like it and it will make them want to leave the room ASAP.
|
Not liking it isn't the only issue. Folks like myself are simply unable to breathe well around people that use too much perfume. I can't even count the times in high school where I had to sit out in the hall for a while because some girl decided that class was the place to pretty herself up.
On that note, I don't do makeup. Maybe the occasional mascara or gloss, but only a couple times a year. It's just not my thing. I don't think I've ever bought makeup in all my life, even. What I have had was given to me. |
make-up is a personal style thing there is not a wrong way to do it as long as your happy,
|
When I think about it, I have fairly little make-up compared to most of my friends, mainly because I'm very sensitive to the weight of it. I cannot wear foundation or anything like that or even lipstick because it feels too heavy and caked on to me. So the extent of my make-up is as such:
3 Wet n Wild brand eyeshadow palettes (3 colors in each) 1 Wet n Wild eyeshadow palette (8 colors) 1 single color eyeshadow Maybelline brand 1 Hard Candy brand loose eyeshadow tube 1 E.L.F brand eyeshadow palette (100 colors) 3 Jordana brand eyeliners (1 teal, 1 purple-never opened, 1 metallic black) 1 Rimmel brand green eyeliner 1 Covergirl brand light green eyeliner 1 E.L.F. brand black shimmer eyeliner 2 Hard Candy brand eyeliners (sparkling gold, olive green) 10 Wet n Wild brand eyeliners (various colors, 5 never opened/used) 2 Revlon Grow Luscious mascara (1 still in package) 1 Revlon lipstain (only used twice) 4 tubes C.O. Bigelow brand lip shine 1 tube Alba brand lip gloss I have no preference for brand, though the Wet n Wild eyeliners work as good as any expensive ones I've tried. And the eyeshadows I own are barely used as I sort of fail when it comes to makeup. I'm practicing with eye shadow, but I'm just can't decide if I look good with it or not, or if it's too dark or not dark enough. XP My sister sort of failed at being a sister when it came to...well pretty much everything that I expected really. She didn't help me with fashion or make-up or anything. |
I have like a whole bunch of makeup but i hardly ever wear it. On the rare occasion that i do I use la colors because i get it at the dollar store haha. For the most part i only do my eyes with mascara, eye liner and some natural looking shadows. I also use a bunch of lip gloss (whatever my mom gets me) I love lip gloss :)

I wear make-up every time that I leave my house. I don't -need- it, but it's a comfort thing to me. It's a little mask that I can put on, shielding me from the harsh reality of the world. With that mask, I appear at ease and confident in all situations, even if it's far from what I actually feel. The amount of make-up I wear really depends on where I'm going.
I don't have any primers or brushes or anything, I don't do my make-up in a technical way like you should. I use my fingers and keep a stack of wet wipes handy so I can clean as I go. I'm also not a brand-whore. I surf on E-Bay to get deals on make up. Brands I would recommend, however, would be Mac, Rimmel and No. 7. I recently got a pallet of 100 different Mac eye shadows for £10. That's usually the cost of one, so to say I was delighted is an understatement. Eyeliner is the main make up that I wear. I like to accentuate my eyes as I feel they're my best feature. I use black Rimmel liquid eyeliner for everyday wear. Though I also have some glitter ones (just cheap brands) in liquid form, one of those eyeliner pens (sort of like a little felt tip, but I don't like that much. It's easier to use, but it's too light) and some pencils in various colours. I like liquid eyeliners best because they go on smoothest and have the best colour. Lip gloss, it depends on my mood. Sometimes I'll use lip stain if I want a dramatic effect (again, Rimmel). If I'm going out, I'll wear red lipstick (No. 7) because it goes well with my lip studs (I have snakebites) and red is generally quite a good colour for me. For bog standard everyday wear, I'll just put on a lip gloss. I have a load of different ones, so it just depends on what I'm wearing and what catches my eye most. Eye shadow is something I have a lot of, but rarely wear. I only ear it if I'm going out. I love to experiment with it though, so when I'm bored I'll often sit and play around with new looks. Like I said previously, Mac eyeshadow is what I use, and I would definitely recommend it. I wear mascara all the time too. My favourite one is called Glam Eyes, it makes my lashes look longest. Though to get that "fake lash" effect, I usually put on about three coats. I never wear blusher, but if I have spots I'll put on foundation to cover them up. In general, I rarely wear that though. The foundation I have is rimmel liquid foundation. It comes in a little bottle. It's pretty expensive, but for the quality it is worth it. However, if I used it everyday, I probably wouldn't buy it due to the cost. I also struggle to get foundation as my skin is so pale. Perfume is another thing I have quite a lot of. My favourite perfume is So Kiss Me, but I only have a little of that left, so I wear it on nights out. For every day wear I shake it up between Calvin Kline Euphoria, Britney Spears Dark Fantasy, Lady Million and Diesel. |
I use DHC Skincare's Velvet Skin Coat for a primer and then Sephora foundation. After that I generally use Laura Geller eye shadows or sometimes a Stila palette followed by either Geller pencils or Sephora's and then Stila liquid eyeliner. Eyebrows are Sephora, mascara is Sephora. Blush is Nars or Geller as is lipstick.
Cleansing brand is mostly Obagi and DHC Skincare. For perfumes I love J'Adore by Christian Dior and this is also my husband's favorite on me, at least he comments on it unlike any other perfume I wear. I also wear Jasmine Noir by Bulgari and another favorite is Samsara by Guerlain. I frequent a perfumery by the name of DSH Perfume which has some exquisite exotic scents like Khyphi (smells like ancient Egypt) and many others, all made by hand. |
that sounds amazing, i would love to go perfume shopping but i have neither money or transporation, wich is a huge setback on the whole shopping experience. but as of late i have had the fortune to procure some of my friends make-up/perfume wich was fun
she had that new moose foundation from revlon that on that emma stone is in the commercial and its actually pretty good its light and airy but it is difficult to choose the correct shade for lighter skintones she also had a few purfumes from vitoria secret i really liked the angel one is smelled like flowers and honey |

I barely buy makeup, I use cover up occasionally but my complexion is pretty good and my eyelashes are pretty long naturally but I sometimes use mascara to make them thicker. I don't wear anything else. |
How much makeup do you have? i have a drawer of really crappy makeup which has been collecting since i was about 10, which is why i dont use it. What brands do you use/suggest? not too sure, sorry. :/ How often do you wear makeup? What specifics (eyeliner, mascara, eyeshadow, lipstick, etc.) do you wear? sometimes i wear mascara and cover-up, and sometimes i fill in my brows with eyeshadow. Is there any makeup/perfume you'd like? i'd love to own some foundation, eyeshadows, lip stain/stick, perfumes, etc but i cant find a job so i cant really buy anything in general. :/ |
I actually don't like a lot of makeup on a girl and if she has to, barely there.
I will steal her nail polish on occasion however. |
dose anyone have some good advice for costume makeup or extreamly good conceler they have stoped production of the one i was using :(
|
I have no idea Shohnightingale I'm sorry :( You could try asking a beauty consultant?
Does anyone like nude/clear nail polish? I think it looks simple and sophisticated but hardly anyone I know likes it. |
Shohn, are you trying to conceal major things like tattoos or serious birthmarks or just in general for your skin? If you want the former you need to talk to a Ben Nye or Meron person about tattoo cover, it's a specific thing, and it can cover up the darkest marks. If you want just in general concealer I prefer a few brands, including Ben Nye, but I cheat and mix it with my moisturizer to help it settle in better without running later.
and I love all nail polishes, though I hardly wear any now. I like the nude ones for when my nails are all different lengths and it just looks odd to have the tips show white really brightly on some. Clear I tend ot use more on nylons than my nails....seems a waste to use if I'm not topcoating another colour down. |
Yeah that makes sense Fey. I don't wear nail polish very much anymore but I've been getting back into it recently. I've put clear nail polish on and I thought it looked alright, but only with short nails. I have long nails that really stick out (in fact I need to trim them before painting them on Saturday) and I do agree, the white tips looks funky when my nails are different lengths. I'm actually going to do a pale pink color now that I've thought about it to give more of a girly feel. Maybe I'll do my toenails a little bit darker pink.
|
I used to wear a lot in high school, but I stopped in college. Seems like a silly thing to waste time on in the morning.
